Deep inky purple. Perfumed cranberry, blackberry, liquorice aromas with winter green, savoury, violet notes. Well-concentrated and generously flavoured with juicy blackberry, cassis, raspberry, spicy notes and plentiful ripe granular tannins. Finishes chalky firm, long and sweet. 97% Shiraz, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon.' There is a warmth of fruit in the '09 St Henri that offers plush mulberry, spice, blackberry confiture and tar on the bouquet; the palate is generous on entry, warm and inviting, with a lively backbone of acidity cleaning up the tail of fine-grained tannins and charry oak flavours. Not destined for the longest life of a St Henri, but long enough.' - 93 Points James Halliday - Published on 11 Jul 2013.

I was disappointed, I expected more from this wine. I expected more body, more persistence of flavours after the goal, but that didn't happen. Compared to its Australian counterparts, it lags behind

I have been drinking Penfolds St Henri since student days and i am 60 years old now. it’s not a cheap bottle but it’s worth every cent you spend. Of course my first choice would be a bottle of Grange which I have tasted it back in 12 years ago, no words to describe an excellent quality and taste is out of this world. I love collecting good quality wine and stored it to enjoy slowly. My recent purchase will be stored away for many years before opening. Overall, best wine in my opinion for any wine lovers or collectors alike.
Bob has no idea bout quality Red wine. St Henri is a brilliant example of Penfolds mastery of Shiraz. A fantastic vintage in 2018 has delivered a beautiful multi-regional wine that is everything that a complex high intensity shiraz can deliver. Buy it, put it down for 10+ years.
I bought this 6 weeks ago and it had a very good taste so I went back and bought four.
A little over-priced but apart from that, a top shelf shiraz.
