Bought in 2004, brought from USA. I have never regretted the money spend. I have landed more than 30 bluefin and countless greater amberjacks and Long fins. The technique is always stand up and the biggest tuna landed was 155 kilos (approximately 300+ lb). I have never opened it for service only oiling from time to time. Great reel.

I purchased my first 70 a year ago and uses it to tuna fish of Long Island. The real is great as I am able to uses it to catch bluefin tuna stand up with comfort. The real is big enough to fight giant tuna without putting the rod in the holder and be comfortable in your hand. Although a 80 or 130 makes it easier the tend to be to bulky and have to be used in the gunnel or a chair. 70 is perfect power and size to hold a rod and try and catch your dream fis.

I have owned multiple large conventional reels for big land based shark fishing. This was the best by far the drag system is amazing and easy to use when fighting a fish. This reel has gone through the ringer and still works flawlessly

i bought this a month ago when I could not find one anywhere else due to the pandemic. Competitive value and could not be happier with the reels performance. Only quandary is it came already opened! Not Bass Pro's fault as it seems it was the delivery man snooping, but all was accounted for. A lot of money but well worth it.
My hubby got this especially for pier fishing. What makes this reel great, it's made in the USA! In Philadelphia!! Can't wait to try pulling in a big red drum, or a big blue fish, or something big! It's kind of expensive, but I believe it's worth the money. It is well made and will be a great addition to our growing ocean fishing tackle!

I have 4 of the 16vs to replace my old Penn LDS 30's that were 30 years old.These are sweeeeet reels. The drag is smooth throughout the range. They are light (relatively) with tons of drag. They hold up to the abuse of being on an ocean going center console, and never fail. Worth every penny in my book.I will probably never have to buy again because these reels are going to outlast me.

Set my drag up for 20lbs. Fought several 80lb tuna and tested drag again, still at 20lbs. Love the strike feature very accurate. Great reel for offshore! You won't be disappointed on your next trip off shore...
