I am the local Fish Expert at the Covington Wal-Mart and am known for my helpful information. I know and love all my fish. Though this product is cheap and claims to be great for 1-2 Betta it is in fact unhealthy for any fish for a period of time longer that 48 hours. A single Betta needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water to have a long and happy life. The 1 gallon Aquaview, that is available at your local Wal-Mart for about $10, is a fantastic tank for beginners with a Betta. Or if you are interested in possible tank mates for your Betta a nice tank to try is the 5 gallon kit for about $30. It is large enough to allow room for your Betta to have his own space and if he is friendly enough a few little friends such as Neon or Glolight Tetras. But you should always watch ... MoreI am the local Fish Expert at the Covington Wal-Mart and am known for my helpful information. I know and love all my fish. I have this tank (should I even call it a tank?) for my dorm room, and it's -okay- as long as you know what you're doing. I have to do a 90% water change every other day, with 20%-40% changes on the in between days to keep the nitrite down. This is with one betta in the tank and minimal feeding (one pellet, twice a day). I replaced the plants with a softer fern-like plant, because the ones that come with it are WAY too pointy and don't allow bettas to perch on them or hide in/behind them.My betta is relatively happy in this tank with my constant upkeep - he blows bubbles up a storm and wiggles all around. His tail got damaged by some other fish, and it's healing nicely. But I do worry about the temperature in the tank.As soon as I can, I'm going to buy my fish ... MoreI have this tank (should I even call it a tank?) for my dorm room, and it's -okay- as long as you know what you're doing. Bettas really need a heater, and this tank is too small for one and too small for my betta to get exercise.

I bought this a while back for my two bettas, 1 girl and 1 guy. at first I kept the divider in there and then eventually took it out. This aquarium is perfect for the two of them! I was hesitant at first because I was afraid it wasn't going to hold up or leak or something, but that's not the case! it's perfect. EXCEPT the drain tool on the bottom doesn't work well, so you still have to take everything out and dump it to clean it.
My old two Beta tank's divider was broken beyond repair. I searched for something the same size as i have my tank on the pass through between my kitchen and family room. The blue tint to the tank glass is just the right hue for viewing the Betas as I prepare meals or look it from my brunch table in the family room. I did add my tiny seashellls and some glass "gravel", imitation starfish, other glass fish, two tiny blue ocotpus from my forner tank Galoreagogo
I thought this was a great idea...I always feel bad for the betta fish when they are not properly taken care of and have hardly an inch of water, dirty at that.So I bought two males and this double tank. Worked okay at first, but was really too small for each fish. Next day it leaked all over my TV stand when I was not home leaving the fish with hardly any water. It almost ruined my DVD player as well.I have since gone back to the reliable glass bowl!
I recently purchased this item for my two betta fish. The product was extremely cheap! ($5) The divider helps to keep the two fish from fighting and the tank is very easy to clean. I keep the betta fish in this tank on my desk, which makes your desk more exciting. The only issue I had with it is the plasitic is very weak, and can easily break if bent, dropped, of bumped, but otherwise, this is a great product and I would definately recommend it!
I had two male bettas and I needed a tank I could put them in to travel cross country when I was moving. I purchased this "tank" to place them in while we traveled so I wouldn't have to buy to separate, small tanks. The center divider would wiggle and wobble all over the place, my male bettas quickly learned they could push on it to give themselves more space, but take away space from another. The top we had to tape down because my fish were able to 'jump' up and knock the lid off, nearly throwing themselves out several times with it.I never had problems with the bottom plug leaking, in fact, I encountered issues trying to remove it to clean the tank- it got stuck a lot.I also found myself cleaning it multiple times a day because the water would get murky so fast ... MoreI had two male bettas and I needed a tank I could put them in to travel cross country when I was moving. Its much too small with or without the divider. Now I just use it to place my fish in when I go to clean their real tanks, but I could just use a cup or a bowl for the very same thing.
Although this tank is pretty good for a temp tank, I wouldn't recommend it as a permanent home for your Bettas (or any fish). My two Bettas currently reside in two large (clear-glass) decorative flower vases. And for those of you who have bought Bettas or any fish from walmart that have died after getting them home, it's probably due to the security scanners when you leave. They are thought to kill the fish shortly after leaving the store. (When you leave the store, hold them above the tops of the security scannershttp://ask.metafilter.com/15372/Deactivated-Fish
Okay so heres the deal the first tank i bought like this did leak after like a couple years of having it so eventually i bought this one that i have now. It works great and it doesn't take up space. Personally, i find that the water doesn't get as dirty as it used to with the 1st one and i think because of the rocks. Anyway for those who say their fish(es) died within days or weeks, maybe you just got them from the wrong place. I have two in the tank and i've had them for like 2 years now. So i personally find that this tank works for me and with proper Betta care it could work for you too.
