Fantastic beach rod, feels like a much more expensive rod than it is. Casts like a dream with heavy breakaway sinker and large slab bait - if you need to cast heavy from the beach this rod will do the job perfectly.Paired it with a Spinfisher SSVI 9500 and couldn't be happier.

Nicely constructed, light to use for a big weight rod. The rod does a fantastic job of throwing the bait out there but it needs to operate in the higher sinker weight ranges to maximise its full potential. Around the 6oz lead weight it seems to perform best. Definitely for the bigger baits and bigger fish as it was intended but in saying that leaves enough sensitivity in the tip to know the picker fish are at your bait. It does what Penn say it does and would highly recommend for bigger bait bigger fish fishing.

Great rod to reach over the waves from the shore and reel in some heavy duty fish with a good matched Penn reel (mounts better with Penn reel seat). Not heavy to carryand can be held by hand or left in a rod holder....then just wait for the rod to bend and then the fun starts.
Great rod, got a 600mm salmon, some flathead & other fish and has handled them perfectly.Just the right amount of bend to cast further and still be sensitive to the smaller fish.

This fishing rod is swell really swell,It looks and performs beautifully that’s why I have two of them now.Best rod for beach fishing, just paired it up with my nasci fc 4000 and some j braid grand to become one amazing combo, best suited to cast out 2oz sinkers and under.
Great rod at a reasonable price. Took it to the beach the afternoon I bought it, chasing mulloway, instead ended up hooking a dirty great big stingray.The Penn Prevail ll didn't give the ray an inch, instead it was me having trouble keeping up with both. In summary, I wash I was built as tough as the Penn Prevail ll.My thanks to the Annaconda PMQ staff for, as usual , a friendly and easy purchase.
Just returned from a two week fishing trip in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.The rod performed flawlessly during the two weeks, paired with the Aero Technium 10000 xsc reel. The two worked amazingly well together casting further than I ever have been able to. Pulling the rooster fish in through the surf was very easy keeping pressure on the line to prevent loosing a hook-up. The Sierra I caught were no match for this combo. This rod has now replaced my Kencor 13' three piece as my rod of choice. The balance point is excellent eliminating fatigue while fishing. The graphite construction reduces weight compared to a fiberglass composite.
It was just my second time using the rod when it broke on my cast. Was chasing tailor at kwinana beach. It was very windy that night but i dont think that was enough to broke the rod upon casting. Brought the rod back at BCF cannington and waited for more than a month when they finally replaced it. I hope the replacement rod that I recieved performed to what it was priced for.
