When hiking I often miss having good binoculars. I have a Pentax 8x25 UCF WP, but I was never really happy with the image quality, a little to dark and the enlargement to small.The Pentax 9*32 S-Serie AD WP is a little bigger with som more enlagrment and the image quality is much better and brighter. It is waterproof and very easy to handle, and the adjustable eye cups makes it easy to use for me with glasses. I strongly recommend these binoculars for hikers wanting good quality in a relatively smal package for a good price.

I arrived in Canada on holiday only to fin that I had forgotten to pack my binoculars, a disaster for a big bird/wildlife watching fan like myself. I have a high end pair of binoculars and although I could not afford to replace them, I needed a good replacement pair to use on the holiday. MEC was the only shop that we found in Victoria that sold binoculars, and we were pleased with the selection they had there. We were able to try them all out and the saleman was very helpful and finally decided on this pair and so glad I did. They are fantastic and I used them every day on my trip. The vision is not much different to my high end pair but they are so much lighter, so easy to hang around your neck whilst on trips . I bought these after trying a slightly lower-level option from Pentax. What a difference. I love everything about these glasses. Their size, weight and ergonomics hit a sweet spot, and the image is excellent. I’m extremely happy with the purchase.

I wanted a smaller pair of binoculars, but not compact. I also was debating between an 8x or 10x. This pair fit my requirements perfectly. The image quality is excellent. If I had to pick one thing that could use improvement, I would say the strap. Regardless of the strap, I would recommend these to anyone.

Nice sharp optics with good colours.For car camping, day hikes, canoe trips and travel these will always be with me.They lose a star because the accessories seem like an afterthought, the strap and case and lens caps are nothing special and are unworthy of these classy optics. Still, these are wonderful to use and while they were a noticeable improvement over products at half the cost, I didn’t see much improvement with optics twice the price of these with similar spec.
