These are very refreshing, but not the sort of drink that you would want to have a lot of. The taste is refreshing and different to normal Pepsi Max and this is its appeal and downfall as well. In other words it is nice to have as an occasional treat, but not the sort of drink that you would want all day every day. Worth keeping in the fridge for that occasional treat and as I said quite refreshing.

First off I must say, Pepsi Max still does not quite have the full Pepsi taste that the original, fullcalorie soda has. With that being said however, Pepsi Max in my personal preference is A LOT better than some other diet sodas Ive tasted in the past. It does have a very slight aftertaste however, but not nearly as much of one as Diet Coke Diet Pepsi etc. Ive now tried both Coke Zero and Pepsi Max and I think PM has a slightly better taste and less of an aftertaste. Im not sure how, I believe the adding of ginseng and energy drink ingredients might somehow of masked the aftertaste from the sweetener used, Im really not sure. All I know is that the soda world has come a long way since the TAB and orginal Diet Coke Pepsi days, and that Id definitely recommend this ... I didnt used to like this soda, and I dont know if theyve changed the formulation, or my tastes have changed, but I really enjoy it now. I prefer Pepsi to Coke, when it comes to the regular varieties. But I never really liked Diet Pepsi at all. But Pepsi Max, I can get behind. It doesnt taste quite like regular Pepsi, but its much better than Diet Pepsi. Im a fan
Yet more God awful sugar free stuff inflicted on us by the tedious zealots at Action on Sugar via the loathsome sugar tax. If I wanted to drink some ghastly artificially sweetened drink there are many options, but now they've adulterated Pepsi. So thanks for that, you *****.
Bought 5 bottles of this stuff yesterday, only to find it tasted funny. At first I thought they'd mis-labelled some Pepsi Max as regular Pepsi, but instead it turns out Pepsico have changed the recipe and didn't tell anyone. Now contains 57% less sugar and has Acesulfame K and Sucralose, tasting like proverbial battery acid. There was no recipe change announcement on the product, nor any obvious indication of the change on the Waitrose website. The only evidence was the tiny ingredients list (also present on the website to be fair, but who looks at that?), which shows the changed contents. Poured the remaining 4.5 bottles down the sink, and will not buy again until Pepsico reverts the recipe. I will be switching to Coca-Cola for now.
This has suddenly dropped in quality and has acquired an unpleasant chemical taste to it. I thought it was just the bottle I had, but I see from the other reviews on here that they've changed their recipe recently and added some questionable (potentially carcinogenic) sweeteners. I was a regular buyer of this and have been for years but I won't be buying this again.
I have drank and loved Pepsi for years. But for some reason the original now has about half the sugar and added sweetener. It tastes horrible, if I wanted less sugar I would just drink/buy Pepsi max? 🤷🏼♂️ won’t be buying wvert again.
Sneaky change of recipe, I could tell something was different about it as I poured it into the glass. Tastes just like a diet cola now. Tipped both bottles down the sink. Won’t be buying any of their drinks again. Had drunk it for years.
Like others I bought this recently not knowing the recipe changed as no warning on the bottle which is disgraceful. Tastes absolutely awful now. Anyone who wanted to eat sweeteners before already had diet Pepsi, Pepsi Max and all the flavoures variants along with most of the non-Pepsi brands nowadays so why reduce freedom of choice? Will no longer be buying Pepsi because this is not Pepsi, it's like a supermarket own brand.
