Does the job; used to deal with engine oil sump leek on Landcruiser 105; I let it dry overnight; it requires time to dry, … more than they advise; used it also as a glue between radiator and a sponge that goes around;Had to dry 24 hours; … but holds perfectly; … cleaning? - turpentine

I used this to coat my Landrover series 3 sump gasket.I found it easier to brush on ( Brush on inside of product lid) rather than a bead of silicon sealant.Sump cover faces must be clean of all grease and old gasket remnants removed.I coated one side of gasket (see product instructions for application)and then placed on top of sump cover. To make sure gasket alligns with holes, use sump bolts ( Clean and dry..use degreaser) Drop bolts through top of gasket so bolts sit on top of non coated gasket.Leave 24 hours. Remove bolts,Coat other side of gasket and sump.Bolt sump cover to sump but only FINGER TIGHT .Leave overnight and then tighten up bolts evenly.Do not go over the top with tightening them up.Check all the bolts are tightened evenly, take your time. Great product that I've been using for 30+ years, doesn't go Rock-Hard and seals gaskets, oil seals and more (don't use it on Head-Gaskets). Not effected by water, oil or fuel. Decided to up-date my 12 year old bottle of Permatex.. lol. see photo.

Excellent for sealing old school vw gaskets and cylinders. Nice that ACE could get the product. Not the easiest to find. Nice job.
Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket.. Used with the Royals Royce assembly, Used this throughout my apprenticeship with RR. and other mechanical applications and aviation great to seal hard to seal surfaces. Works well with fuel, water jackets and some head gaskets. and the odd sump plug.
The first time I used this brand and bottle was about 1997, the first time I ever changed a radiator for a new one and I wasn't aware that all the bolts involved in a wet system had to have the threads sealed with thread goo or locktight. I only had this available but I have used it from old school rocker covers to waterpump/thermostat replacements and never had a leak or a frozen thread afterward. It seems to be just right for all purposes where you need rubber to set somewhere. That is a bit long winded but hey...it's my sealant story.Word of warning, DO NOT BREATH ANY VAPOURS and use gloves every time. getting it off is the worst and it's poison too.
Permatex Aviation Gasket Goo, (as I like to call it), was recommended to me in the early 80s by an old mechanic, for installing head gaskets Stops water jacket leaks. Ive use it every time I assemble engines/parts/gaskets (except carburettor gaskets for which I use lip balm, so they can be taken apart easily). Aviation Gasket Goo remains gooie and prevents annoying oil leaks in the future, especially oil pans, tappet cover, water pumps and thermostats gaskets, just make sure you torque all bolts to the correct specifications. Gives extra insurance in stopping head gasket failures, just apply thinly on head gaskets and Dont apply to compression rings of head gaskets. I love this product.
I've used Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No-3 all of my Mechanical Career and I have never been let down by it, never leaks and a lot easier to clean up than any RTV Silicon Sealant (Used far too much by bush mechanic). Its a non-hardening sealant that dries to a sticky coating that seals machining marks. It has a great temperature range -50 deg C to +200 deg C.Great resistance to Water, Petrol, Oil and greaseand it comes with a brush to apply.
it is called a "form a gasket sealant liquid" but it is more for sticking and sealing gaskets in place rather than as an alternative to a gasket. not only does it work well on aviation components, but I have sealed up many gaskets successfully on motor bikes and automobiles.
this was the first time that i have used this product and i found it to be extremely effective for the job i was doing at the time. it worked as i expected for sealing the fuel leak between the engine and carby on the mower i was fixing…it bonded to the engine and carby gasket very quickly and easily i give this product 5 stars and i recommend anyone who has a similar problem with leaking fuel to give it a good try i personally found it to be one of the best gasket sealants that i’ve ever used…I would recommend it to anyone all day long 👍👍👍👍
