I got this along with the eye cream in a VoxBox, and actually really liked it! The container is very cute. It's in the same shape as others in different lines of the skincare so it looks uniformed, but is in a fun slightly salmon pink color. The box it came in does make claims that I feel are a little over-the-top regarding performance. It doesn't effect the product itself, but I did want to mention that because it does kind of bug me a little. Sensationalizing something comes off inauthentic to me, and it actually makes me less likely to purchase a product. The cream is good and should speaks for itself. This is a solid cream, so the consistency kind of reminds me of a solid deodorant if that makes sense? I needed to work it with my fingers make it soft enough to apply evenly over my face without skin tugging. I really this because I travel a lot and don't have to be concerned about it leaking. I'm someone who doesn't mind fragrances when it comes to skincare, but they don't add any benefits to skin itself, so I appreciate that this is fragrance free for those who avoid that. I don't have visible signs of aging, but use these kind of product as a preventive measure, so I can't comment on how well it works in that regard. What I can say is that it left my skin very well hydrated, and gave it a firmer feeling. I don't like using this during the day when I decide to wear makeup because it is a bit thick, but I love it for my evening routine. That is just a matter of personal preference though. Overall, I had a very positive experience and definitely approve.FULL DISCLOSURE. I want to reiterate that this was sent in a VoxBox. However, whether a product is gifted or personally purchased myself, I always give my honest feedback.

I originally got this product as a sample. I live in a harsh winter climate, and I loved the sample enough to buy the full-size product. I'm now almost completely through the container, and I have to say, I love this moisturizer, but lets clear a few things up. #1 - This alone will not hydrate your skin much. If you need hydration, put a light gel-moisturizer on, let it soak in, and put this on top of it. This stuff is very thick and it will lock in hydration, but if you're applying it onto dry skin without adding hydration first, you might not get the results you're looking for. #2 - This is my go to for winter months but it's a bit heavy for summer months. You might want to find something lighter if you're looking for something to use year round. I use this ... MoreI originally got this product as a sample. I'm more likely to use it at night because it's just so thick. #3 - There is some mild fragrance here, so if that's not your jam, look elsewhere. #4 - This product is very expensive, and there are cheaper alternatives on the market. With that said, I am going to be repurchasing this product as soon as my container is completely used up. I really liked the product that much. For the record, I have normal-combination skin that tends towards oily in the summer and tends towards dry in the winter. I don't have overly-sensitive skin, but I'm susceptible to sensitivity with some products, like vitamin C. I don't break out much, only a bit of hormonal acne, but I do have enlarged pores. This product has not irritated my skin, but again, it doesn't provide much hydration, so I will often layer this on top of a lighter hydrating gel-cream. It layers well, if the hydrating moisturizer you use is very light.

I received the Peter Thomas Roth Vital-E Microbiome Age Defense Cream complementary from Influenster prior to launch in exchange for my honest review. I have been using it most days for about a month. It says it is appropriate for day and night, but I only used it as a day cream, favoring acids and oils at night. I’d say I am neutral-to-positive on this face cream... I’m a millennial who works at a computer and is constantly on my phone, so I LOVE that is has anti-aging and blue light blocking technology. In addition, the texture of this cream is interesting: it goes from a solid to a cream, and you have to warm it up a bit to get it to spread. At first, I was kind of warming it up between my fingers, but it felt too messy and like an extra step. I typically put a few drops of moisturizer directly onto my face and then gently rub everything in. For this, I felt like I had to do more rubbing as the solid broke down into a cream from the warmth of my face. Then, there was a sensation of it sort of sitting on top of the skin, rather than soaking in. I guess it needed to have that texture/feeling to replace the microbiome barrier, but at times it just felt too mask-like. That said, this improved when I changed my technique to lightly swipe it on my cheeks and forehead like war paint, let it sit for a minute, and then light massage it in. I was pleased to find this wore fine over my regular serums and under SPF and makeup... just make sure you give the layers enough time to dry a bit before you begin the next one. Overall, I’d recommend trying this product if you’re into high tech skin care and concerned about blue light’s influence on aging, just remember to wear a separate SPF and go light on the application!

I received this product complimentary from @influenster to test and review. I used this cream twice a day for 3 weeks, therefore my review is rather a first impression. (Normally I test skincare for 3 months prior to reviewing, but influenster requires a rapid response). Out of the two products I got this one was my least favorite. I'll explain why. This eye cream has consistency of extremely solidified half frozen coconut oil. Unlike the face cream from the same line, this product had difficulty melting on contact with my fingers, l had to rub my finger pressing hard into the jar in order to pick up a minute amount of product. It was still very siliconey-feeling and tugged on the delicate undereye area upon application. Unlike the face cream from the same line, this product had difficulty melting on contact with my fingers, l had to rub my finger pressing hard into the jar in order to pick up a minute amount of product. It was still very siliconey-feeling and tugged on the delicate undereye area upon application. The cream eventually melted and became soft and oily, but it took a much longer time than it was for the face cream. If anything, it should've been easier to melt because you really have to avoid tugging on your eyelid skin. I prefer softer textures for eye creams. After the product finally melted, it felt hydrating and softening to the skin. I used this cream at night and in the morning before makeup application. In order to apply makeup I had to blot my upper eyelid a little bit with a tissue to absorb excess melted cream. Otherwise my makeup stayed put over my normal eyeshadow primer, no problems there. Did I notice any dramatic results? No. I did see a temporary minimal smoothing of my fine lines, but the result was only temporary. 3 weeks is not enough time to see long term results of skincare, and if someone states they had marked improvement- they're not being honest. I'm going to keep using this product until it's finished and then I'll try to update my review. As of now, I do not recommend the eye cream from this line, as ease of application is very important to me.
I have used this for about a week now, and I am absolutely in love. I have been searching for a new eye cream, and purchased this because it was on sale to try. I used to use loccitane eye cream but the price was too high and I wasn't seeing great results at the price point. I have pretty sensitive eyes so I have to be careful of the ingredients. I just tried some Sunday riley eyecreams before this but it made my eye skin peel. It wasn't painful, just a bit too aggressive. I used this right after that, and it didn't sting or anything! I have been using it AM/PM and I have seen a difference in my eye appearance. They look more refreshed and not as aged. I am going on 37 with two boys and my eyes really showed that. I’ve been using the vital e cream for about four months and it works well for me on crow’s feet and some under eye lines. I’ve seen some definite smoothing. HOWEVER, my eyes were very sensitive to it at first and actually started twitching after a week of use. I quit using it for several weeks but ran out of my other eye cream so I decided to give it another shot on an every other day basis. It did not bother my eyes when I slowly introduced it into my routine. Now I use it every night. It does not help dark circles so I layer it over Ole Hendrickson banana bright eye cream. Other reviewers mentioned it was too thick and didn’t sink in well. I disagree. I think it’s very smooth and feels a lot like a balm. Give it a few minutes to sink in before your next step. Other reviewers mentioned it was too thick and didn’t sink in well. I disagree. I think it’s very smooth and feels a lot like a balm. Give it a few minutes to sink in before your next step. It makes my skin feel so soft and moisturized. Another reviewer mentioned that she used it to lock in moisture after applying all other skin care products. I found that when I apply the vital e cream after my moisturizer that it travels and makes my eyes burn. I do not have that problem if I apply vital e before moisturizer. I only use vital e at night because I’m afraid it would travel and burn my eyes during the day. I’m still seeing good results with only once a day use though. After using it for about four months, I still have over half of the container of product left. It should last at least another four to five months. Altogether a good product and I would buy it again.
I’ve been using the product for a month now and I just reordered it. It’s definitely different and the texture took a bit of getting used to, but it was worth the chance I gave it. The moisturizer is very thick and you have to manipulate it a bit to get it to spread. (I mixed it with Argon Oil which makes it spread very nicely.) My skin is really soft and moisturized. Much more so than I’ve seen with other moisturizers. And I have seen a decrease in redness from my rosacea. I’m a fan.
I Peter Thomas Roth has always put out solid skincare across the board and Vital-E Eye Cream should not disappoint, but the melt aspect can take time to get used to and it is a different feel than a typical eye cream, it is not for everybody! Being a Le Mer user I knew what to expect in texture and feel. They may have samples here or in store that is how I found it and then bought it.I only had this a little over a week but I do see subtle difference in dk.coloration under my eyes and the skin most certainly feel more hydrated. I am really surprised to see Waxy used in reference to the consistency of this product. Maybe they have not melted it enough? To me it feels like water has been dropped on my fingertips and tapped into my skin, leaving it feeling hydrated ... MoreI Peter Thomas Roth has always put out solid skincare across the board and Vital-E Eye Cream should not disappoint, but the melt aspect can take time to get used to and it is a different feel than a typical eye cream, it is not for everybody! I haven’t had any issue with foundation , concealer or powders on or around my eye. I have Charlotte Tilbury at the moment. Mostly wear Marc Jacobs, Laura Mercier Bobbi Brown and Dior on my eyes. Perhaps there is a conflict with ingredients. I just haven’t experienced it, yet.
I absolutely love the texture of this product. It starts off solid and a bit waxy – sort of like frozen coconut oil – but then melts into a really lightweight cream once you rub it a bit between your fingers. At first, the texture seemed way too lightweight for my skin, which needs some serious moisturising right now. But I underestimated it – it's really nourishing, thanks in part to the Tucuma butter, which is full of fatty acids and is known to boost skin's hydration levels. All without feeling or looking oily, which is rare in my book. It actually felt comforting on the skin, soothing away the dry patches and creating a primer-like finish that also forms the perfect base for makeup. It feels like a very cocooning balm on the skin and I can actually feel it ... MoreI absolutely love the texture of this product. It feels like a very cocooning balm on the skin and I can actually feel it creating a natural barrier against the extreme weather right now. Then there are the probiotics, which boost the skin's microbiome, which is not something a lot of brands have experimented with till now. This again boosts the skin's natural barrier and protect against external aggressors like pollution. And finally, I love that it deals with blue light, considering I spend about 10 hours a day in front of my iPad/iPhone/MacBook. I have been using it for a month and can honestly say that my skin feels smoother, with lesser fine lines and sensitivity. It's become my favorite day cream and I would definitely purchase another jar on my own!
I’d like to start off by saying I’ve only tried this product for one day, but I found it so unique and effective, I didn’t want to wait to write a review. So, this is my opinion based on just a day of use.I’ve tried...loads...to say the least, of different facial moisturizers, but I’ve actually never encountered a product quite like this one.1. I like to compare the consistency of the product to coconut oil (but without that slippery, greasy after-effect!!) when I say this, I mean that it’s a smooth solid and as you work it between your fingertips it melts. It melts so beautifully into the skin and leaves zero residue, yet feels very hydrating.2. I’m a true combo-skin girl, so I’m very careful when it comes to moisturizer formulas. This product keeps you hydrated whether you’re oily or dry, while not making you greasy if you’re oily.3. It seemed to almost blur my imperfections a bit like a primer would which is awesome for a moisturizer!4. I love love love that this is anti-blue light which I’ve never seen from a moisturizer. I own blue light blocking glasses to protect my eyes yet somehow never thought about protecting my skin from blue light.5. Behind sun damage, environmental factors are the next most damaging thing to our skin, and this moisturizer actually protects your skin from environmental stressors that don’t even cross our minds on a daily basis. It’s like you have a little army working for you!5. It’s also anti-aging. And who doesn’t love to keep their skin looking young??Looking forward to continual usage to see long-term benefits!
