This makes it difficult to connect cables as, depending on the length of the plug, the cable needs to be bent to get over this ridge. Even the supplied power cable has to be bent just below the plug portion of the cable to be able to be connected. And I have a HDMI cable (no HDMI cabled supplied, btw), that has a fairly chunky plug and thick cord, and it simply couldn't be connected to this monitor due to the limited height of this recessed space. I had to use another HDMI cable with a shorter plug and more flexible cable. If they had just *not* had that molded ridge there, cables could be connected easily, but no! Positive: + Nice stand, with easy height adjust, pivot, and standard vesa mount. Maybe this is a stand Philips use on a range of monitors, because it feels like it belongs to a higher quality monitor. + Comes with display port cable, which was of no use to me, but others may like it. + Screen works. Nothing remarkable about it though. Seems like a pretty standard panel. There's a very faint drop off in brightness down the left edge, which doesn't exactly scream high quality. Overall, it's a bit of a disappointment - especially in regards to sound. Yes, it wasn't super expensive, but it feels a bit like an even cheaper monitor with the Philips brand slapped on it. It'll do, but I don't recommend it. I can't help but wonder if spending the same amount of money on a lesser known brand might have yielded a better result. It's a usable monitor, but in a way it has diminished my impression of Philips as a brand, I'm sorry to say.

Bought this screen for my daughter who is doing uni & was getting eye strain from her small laptop. Set it up, plugged in all the cables, OK where is the on/off switch? The "Quick Start" guide just had visuals, which made it look like the switch was centre front bottom. Much fumbling & cursing later we find it's on the back. Stupid. Not only that, the one switch not only pushes in for on/off, it's like a little joystick. It goes up, down, left & right for volume, input etc etc. Really awkward to use sitting in front of the screen. Dumb design to the extent that I would get something else more conventional if I had my time again. Reading all about this screen, nowhere is the toggle switch even mentioned.

This is a good buy and at affordable price. Works on both MacBook Air and Windows laptop. It has every possible connection you can use to hook up the monitor to your laptop. It has in-built speakers which is a nice to have. The monitor is adjustable too. So far so good. No issues.

I bought this as a external monitor for my laptop. I used it mainly for document work (e.g. word processor, spreadsheet, email and slides) and not for gaming. My review will be based on my usage. For this price (~$150), the monitor is excellent and I strongly recommend it. It is big enough to display 3 columns of information on the email system for easy reading. The screen is non-reflective which is very comfortable on the eye especially on prolonged usage. I especially like the LowBlue mode which makes the screen looks paper-like. This further reduces the strain on the eye. It is also VESA compatible so I can use it with a monitor arm. This helps to free up space on the table and bring the monitor to eye level.
I recently purchased a new Philips pc monitor and I am extremely pleased with it. The picture quality is outstanding, with vivid colors and sharp details. The monitor is also very easy to set up and use, with intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface. The monitor also has a wide range of features, including a multiple ports for connecting other devices, and a variety of adjustable settings. Overall, I am very satisfied with my purchase and would highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a great display.
I purchased two monitors and mounted them side by side, the idea being that they would provide a consistent and ergonomic display. Despite spending hours scrolling through the monitor settings, ensuring both are set exactly the same, trying various settings and resetting to factory settings, they do not display the same, one is cooler and one is warmer, very frustrating. I would not recommend these monitors.
I needed a new monitor with a VGA connection, and when I asked the shop if this came with a suitable cable it thought not and sold me one for £19.99. I got home, undid the box and one had been included. Why not list the cables provided on the outside of the box? The set-up diagrams were a bit on the small side, and I couldn't use the users' manual CD until the monitor was up and running ... As it was, enclosed with the CD was a note saying that it was out of date and advising that one could download the latest version from the Philips website. I wasn't able to find the model of my monitor on the website. I watch quite a bit on YouTube, where some of the material has low sound. I've been using this monitor for about 4 months now. Image quality is great with good colour saturation and range with a very stable refresh rate. Good anti-glare coating too and a reasonable price. The setting are changed by a joystick style button on the rear, which the same thing you push to power on / off, but it's in a really awkward location. The speakers fire backwards, so unless there's a wall behind the monitor, they're not much to get excited about.
Pros: It just looks great, bright and the colours are sRGB, so great for photo editing. Stand also doesn't take up a lot of room. A lot report the speakers as weak, yes they are not HiFi but with the volume turned up they are fine for everyday use and plenty loud enough. If you want HiFi then buy some speakers that are designed for it. Cons: The stand is a little fiddly to set up originally mine had the screen at a slight angle. It was easily fixed by undoing the the thumb screw and reattaching and it is fine. Just need to be a little more careful aligning it.
The screen has no front protection whatsoever. Therefore, you have to touch the LCD panel to adjust the angle of view of the monitor. At the same time, you can see how the edge of the panel easily bends under the fingers without any support. In my case, even a light touch of female fingers was enough for an edge crack to appear. Obvious, the damage was not my fault but the result of a technological flaw of the manufacturer. However, Service Center uses a pre-made response in order to avoid their responsibility and deny the warranty.
