I got this because my son has eczema, my partner has asthma, and I sometimes get hay fever. It is very easy to set up and very easy to use. It is modern looking and fits well into the living room. It is modern looking and fits well into the living room. It runs very quietly, unless the air is in need of 'cleaning/purifying'.It is easy to read and understand how the air quality is. It is a steady low number, meaning the air quality is good in my living room. As my toddler son walked by it he sneezed, and you could actually see the unit swoop up the germs and engulf them, to get the air purer again. Again as my partner walked in from work (he works in a very dusty environment in a factory setting), the unit ran high, got quite noisy and ran for a little while until it had purified the air again, and went down to 1 again. It has colour settings and number settings. No. 1, colour blue being the air is best quality, and no. 12 and red being worst quality. You can also adjust the brightness of the lights so they don't stand out so much. I am unsure as to how much the running costs are. But it does seem to go into a sleep mode, which i think is more economical, and just steps up when it is needed to clean the air. There is an app you can download which connects with the purifier, but I was unable to do it on my phone because I believe my internet speed was too high? it had to be within a certain speed I think. A little technical for me, but I don't think I would have used it anyway. My partner has noticed an improvement in his asthma, which is brilliant. He still has to use his inhalers, but he doesn"t seem as badly affected as he usually is. I don't think it has had much effect with my little mans eczema. We also have a dog, so if she goes out for walks and comes back after rolling in grass or flowers and pollen may be around, it clears the air from whatever she may have brought in. I think it will come into its own in the winter months when we all have colds n coughs n flus. All in all a very good piece of kit.

This is one of the best air purifier I’ve ever used. My bedroom is pretty near to my kitchen so everytime I cook something or open the window, cooking smell and other fine dust would make it through my bedroom which made me cough and sneeze non stop especially in the morning. After buying this air purifier, those problem has solved completely. Cooking smells and dust are completely gone, and my sleep has improved dramatically with little to no coughing and sneezing in the morning. I’ve also notice dust that I used to see in the air has completely gone now which suggest to me that it does purifier the air.

My 2 year old son and I suffer with allergies, dust, pollen, animal fur to name but a few. In recent months my son has developed a persistent cough with the Doctor said was most likely connected to his allergies. In a small room, it would take up a lot of room. In a larger room it’s absolutely fine and can just sit in the corner working it’s magic!

We bought this due to allergies. Combined with a PIV (Positive Input Ventilation) to sort condensation and ventilation in our home, the air purifier have been working full time for the past 3 years and supplying a clean and fresh air. People need to remember that together this product, you need to keep your house clean. Excessive dust will clog the filters and reduce its efficiency/life span dramatically, and it is not cheap keeping replacing the HEPA and Carbon filters. However, that is a price you pay if you suffer from allergies and need a clean house and clean air.

Also, the timer button and light function doesn’t work properly as well. I tried setting the timer and the product failed to turn off as expected. I felt that the LCD and buttons to the Purifier need better improvements as they’re very clunky and without the manual in hand, it`s very difficult to understand all of it`s capabilities. I think overall, I probably would not recommend this product to a friend or family member until Philips can make further improvements to their product. They hit a few things out of the park, but all in all, after you realize that your apartment air has good quality, I’d like the other features of the Philips Purifier to be able to work as necessary.

The purifier fan automatically adjusted to clean the air and within minutes my air quality was back up. Negatives: 1. I might not have used the product long enough to properly assess that though. 2. It may just have been the unit I received, but the power button was difficult to power on/off, it was almost as if the sensor was not directly under the button. But it wasn't that big of a deal. I’ve not experienced any vibrations either which can be common in these types of appliances. The filters insert easily and are very high quality. The carbon filter is a pellet type filter which I've heard is the best you can get. They have a foam seal around the edges also to make sure no air can bypass each filter. This is not something you should’nt even consider unless you know what you're doing (unplug etc). All in all this is one of my favourite appliances - highly recommended!

I had to check the manual to remind myself of the icons` meanings. All in all, I would recommend this product without hesitation.
