I have a number of Hue lights but this was my first external light. The floodlight is a good ambient light but not bright enough to be a floodlight in my opinion. As a previous reviewer mentioned, I also had difficulties connecting the light to my Hue Bridge. During the connecting process the light would blink but not connect to my Hue bridge. I changed the zigbee channel setting on the bridge which didn't help.I thought maybe my Hue Bridge was too far away and so I brought it closer which allowed it to connect, and it worked. But weirdly, I moved the Hue Bridge back to the original position and the light still functioned. There isn't really much troubleshooting help in the box, and I just had to figure things out myself,

The product looks aesthetically pleasing in comparison to other floodlights in so much as it's slim line, quality plastic and very clean lines. The tone of light is beautiful, not too harsh like my old floodlight. Love that you can set it on a timer and adjust the brightness from your phone. Was easy to install the light, under 15 mins to remove old floodlight and replace with this. However that's where the love story ends. Took over 5 hours to set this product up. The instructions online & in the packaging clearly stated wire it in, install the app (already had), needed a Hue Bridge (already had), add the product to the app and hey presto. All other hue product have been seamlessly but not this. All other hue product have been seamlessly but not this. The App could not see product, checked everything, turned everything on and off, tried entering the serial number to no avail. Reinstalled the app, rebooted all devices involved, router, Hue Bridge, mobile phone. Unplugged and unplugged all wires and power supplies etc.Eventually contacted Philips Hue via Twitter, they wanted me to create a Dropbox account to download a file called light finder, for which you needed a PC that's Java enabled. Light finder wants you to move the Hue Bridge next to the outside light, which at this point is fitted on a wall outside! Luckily I had a VERY long Ethernet cable & extension lead, otherwise this would have been impossible. This still didn't work. Contacted them again, via Twitter, they said to change the Zigbee channel via the App, which was incredibly simple & seemed to resolve the issue immediately. However the whole process of installing took over 5 hours and was a very bad customer journey. I'm relatively technical and was at the point of taking this back.I was convinced the only issue was the Zigbee channel and all the above was unnecessary so uninstalled the product and reinstalled it on the new Zigbee channel, again worked instantly.Summary: Lovely floodlight but Philips Hue need to add to their installation instructions to change the Zigbee channel if you can't find the product, this takes under 5 mins and is minimal disruption, unlike the above.
