Philips Hue Outdoor Bluetooth Strip (5m)

I invested in Philips Hue a few years ago so, when I extend my lighting setup, I feel committed. On the whole, I've not had many connectivity issues with Hue and I think that's because Hue lights require a dedicated bridge. Control of Hue lights via app or Alexa is pretty good.These outdoor Hue lights do look good at night. I'm really pleased with them and like the way they integrate to my existing setup. What I don't like is that they are bulky. The transformer is bulkey, the wiring is bulky and the connecting wires cannot be shortened which means I've had to hide a lit of cable so it can't be seen. And the led strips only come in 2 or 5m lengths which made my 7.5m setup a bit tricky, and a bit expensive. These lights do exactly what they are intended to do. They are weather resistant and the brightness is amazing . Easily customizable with the app. They are thick and durable. Setting them up is even easier just plug them in connect to wifi and you are pretty much done. You can change them to any color you can think of

Even when it's not illuminated it has a beautiful shape. Very happy, I hope it lasts me a good amount.

A Bit Expensive, But Great

We have a couple of these installed on our porch and we love the color and soft light they provide. The colors are vibrant and we enjoy all the different scenes. The light is not completely diffused, but from distance it does not matter.Installation takes some time and preparation but the clips worked well and allow for reinstallation elsewhere. The light strip length is accurate as stated, but be prepared to deal with the power cabling.We are happy with the results!

Beautiful lighting effect!!

As soon as I installed the light strips I immediately felt they transformed the garden, not only did they look gorgeous but the light it created really changed the ambiance and felt incredibly calm on the warm white setting. The warm white light looks very striking against the greenery, the colours are a really fun way to switch it up. I positioned them behind our sleeper rails and love the effect this has created. The app is super easy to use and as a Hue user it was really easy to connect these to my current app via the bridge. I found the setup process really simple. I love that they are IP65 so feel really waterproof - especially considering the British weather! I know I will use these all year round & not just for the long summer nights.

Big plus for Galaxus, an minus for Philips.

It's very nice with a great variety of colors, easy to install and connect, but the last 5cm in my case was not working. I sent it back to warranty and I was happy that they sent back to me a new one. My satisfaction wasonly until I started it just to realize that the new one had the same issue. I repeated the procedure of warranty the second time and again they sent back to me a new one, and again the last 5cm not working. In the end after receiving the third product with the same issue I just gave up and left it like this. It's not such a big problem, the rest of the strip is working just fine and 5cm on 5m is not such a big deal. This weatherproof LED strip works well and has a similar light output to the Hue indoor lightstrips but it is a fixed length and cannot be cut to a smaller size as they can be. I have used two strips underneath a window sill that is 3.6m wide, so I overlapped them in the middle to get the length I needed.Be aware that the LED strip inside the plastic sheathing is a little shorter, so the illuminated portion is not quite the entire 2m.It is supplied with plastic mounting clips and screws for them. Once the clips are fixed in place the lightstrip clicks into them.
