I recently received the Philips ExpertClean 7300 for free as part of a product test. I have used electric toothbrushes before so was openminded to trying this out, hopefully it would be better than what I've used before. After three weeks of use, I feel like I can say this is the best toothbrush I've ever used. There's several reasons for this. This is the first toothbrush I've had that works with an app. This made the brushing experience more than just a mundane process, I could open up the app when bored at work and see areas I need to work on to help improve my smile, or gums. I could also see this being good for younger brushers, helping them learn good technique and habits early. But outside of the app, this is a solid toothbrush. I think in the three weeks, I only need to charge the brush once, so you get long battery life. You get a nice travel case which I've already used once on a short business trip. My work colleague was curious about my new brush, as it has a "sexy" black color (his words lol). I do agree that the look is unique and even though it doesn't quite fit in my bathroom based on the color, I think it's the coolest looking brush I've used. The box says you can get 7x healthier gums in just 2 weeks. I don't know if that's totally true, but I can say that I think my gums do feel and look better since I've started using this brush. This is partially due to using the helpful app and the multiple brushing modes and intensity settings. Some brushing sessions, I concentrate on gum health and others I go for a deep clean. I'm looking forward to continuing to use this brush and get better with the app's help. I also think this would be a great gift for younger brushers who need some guidance/technique help, as this cool brush will also probably make brushing more fun in general for them.

Approximately 2-months ago I replaced my failed toothbrush with a Sonicare "Expert Clean" model. I promptly registered my new toothbrush on the Philips Customer Service site, along with a copy of my original purchase receipt. From the start, I have been truly impressed with my new toothbrush. My original Sonicare had signalled four 30-second intervals during the programmed 2-minute brushing sequence (30-seconds of brushing over 4-quadrants). My new Sonicare signals six 20-second brushing intervals during the 2-minute brushing sequence (3-upper and 3-lower brushing zones). It's my interpretation that this subtle change by Philips, actually allows for a more thorough brushing experience. While I've been duly impressed by my new toothbrush, I've been THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED by the performance of each of the two brush heads which were included in the packaging of my new toothbrush. Both brush heads were of the "advanced design" type. Owing to the revised design of these "advanced" brush heads, I quickly discovered that they are anything but "robust". When manufactured, the bristles of these advanced brush heads are inserted into the brush head as a series of "bristle clusters". Each cluster is set into a "white socket" that is pushed-into the brush head. After 1-week of brushing with the first-of-2 "included" advanced brush heads, I had a bristle cluster socket fall out of the brush head, into my mouth, while brushing. As a result, I called Philips Customer Service to advise of my experience. During my first contact, the Philips Customer Service representative advised me to discontinue use of the failed toothbrush head. He further advised me that his supervisor would follow-up with me, by email, within a week. I had received no feedback after 4-weeks, which prompted me to place another call to Philips Customer Service. By this time I had used the second-of-2 "advanced" brush heads that had been included in my new tooth brush's packaging. Within a couple of days of use, this second brush head had failed in an identical manner to that of the first failed brush head -- a 'bristle cluster socket' had fallen out of the brush head, into my mouth while brushing. During my second contact with Philips Customer Service, the Philips representative discovered the notes from my original telephone contact and apologized profusely, for my case having apparently 'fallen through the cracks'. The Philips representative went on to explain that she had further-escalated my case, such that I would hear back from her supervisor within 24-to-48 hours of my second contact. A week has passed by now and I have yet to receive any form of acknowledgement from anyone associated with Philips Customer Service. INSTEAD, on this date I have received an email from Philips requesting that I rate my recent purchase of my new Sonicare toothbrush. That emailed request from Philips has prompted this review. If it hadn't been for the **Atrociously Poor Quality** of the brush heads included in my new brush's packaging, I certainly would have committed to a toothbrush rating of "5 STARS". In light of the **Atrociously Poor Quality** of the "advanced" brush heads, I can only provide a rating of "3 STARS". (I was tempted to deliver a "2-STAR rating!) Once (....IF !!) I have been contacted by Philips Customer Service, it's my plan to follow-up this review with an "update" of the situation. Stay tuned... **NOTE: This review which I originally delivered to Philips Customer Service in response to their emailed request for my review, included two photos which illustrated the failure of both "advanced" brush heads which had been included in my new toothbrush's packaging. To date, Philips' Customer Service has been deplorable!!
