I got this because my current trimmer would no longer charge. I was looking for a trimmer with multiple functions because we travel often and I like to pack light. The trimmer handle has a nice stainless design, you don't see that much anymore. It's comfortable to hold and feels solid in your hands. You can use it wet or dry, I don't tend to use mine in the shower but it's nice to have that option. Charging is quick and the usb cable is included. Picked this up at Costco a few weeks ago as a back-up to my current Philips Series 5000 trimmer that I've had for 5-6 years. My only use for these trimmers is to trim my beard to as close to the skin as possible, ideally less than 1 mm. Since I'm nearly bald I don't use any of the other comb attachments. This Model MG9730 has some advantages as well as disadvantages over the older trimmer. On the plus side it's quieter and a bit smaller. It also comes with the replaceable trimmer heads which I haven't tried out yet. On the minus side, it simply doesn't trim as closely or neatly as the older model. I believe that's due to the type of comb attachment for trimming beards very short. I need a new one after 3 weeks.It doesn’t shave anywhere near as close as a quality wet shave blade . It struggles to pick up stray hairs and to get even close to an acceptable shave I have to go over my face at least three times, where as with a wet shave it is once. Very quick charge time, yet to use a full charge but I would imagine it lasts for a reasonable time. The fact it's USB chargeable is a huge win. No more hunting for a shaver socket or using an adapter. Simple plug it into any usb port/plug and away you go. The only downside I can think is the travel case. It seems a little light/flimsy for the weight of the shaver + attachments, a hard travel case may have been better but am aware this would increase travel weight.
I was unable to test the one blade, as the blade was missing. Tried to contact customer service with no response.Perfect device for keeping on top of a trimmed beard. I tend to trim my beard every day, I used the 3mm piece as I usually trim it with a grade 1 hair piece.I personally dont feel any pulling of facial hair from this product, which is a major positive for me as other beard trimming products tend to pull.Head attachment comes off really easy and can be brushed with the small brush that accompanies the trimmer. I tend to just blow it out and sometime run under sink.The battery life is also a really good feature of this beard trimmer.
