If you're a curious wet shaver I'd just put forward that it won't be the same as a wet shave.Interestingly though, no ingrown hairs on my neck using this?... Something I'll keep track of.

Great product with great features. No harsh on skin. Very smooth shaving. No red skin after shave. Great battery life. My first Philips shaver. Quite impressive. Changed from Remington to Philips. Much better than that. Highly recommended.

There was no time saving when shaving as I spent a lot of time trying to get closer and cover all areas of hair growth. Certain areas such as on my upper lip were never adequately shaved; may be my nose got in the way with the result I had to finish with an open blade system.Overall, the shaver was quiet and convenient and had a fantastic battery life. However, for those used to a wet shave with a razor blade the results will probably not be enough to stay with the Philips 5000 in the long term. For the right person with different hair growth this would be a winning product.

Good for quick shave

It's been a while since I've used an electric shaver, I usually use a double edge safety razor.Overall the Philips Shaver series 5000 Wet and Dry is easy to use, the switchable head from shaver to trimmer can be done in a matter of seconds. It took some time to get used to and went into using an electric shaver with some negative thoughts. The shaver feels good to hold and feels like it's made of good quality. When it comes to shaving, using it as a wet shaver will achieve better results as dry will tend to pull and tug, and left my irritated neck. After adapting to an electric shaver I managed to get a closer shave but it wasn't ultimate smooth as I would have liked. The only downside of this product is the charging port, it's another 3pin plug to plug in as it ... MoreIt's been a while since I've used an electric shaver, I usually use a double edge safety razor.Overall the Philips Shaver series 5000 Wet and Dry is easy to use, the switchable head from shaver to trimmer can be done in a matter of seconds. Great Shaver for the money
22 September 2022

I was replacing my old Philips Aquatouch but I was concerned about some negative reviews. I decided to take a chance and bought the Shaver. It is an excellent product for a very reasonable price. It gives a nice smooth shave with no snagging of stubble, it simply glides across your face. The battery is good and lasts around 2 weeks per charge which is great. I have not found any negatives yet and would highly recommend this Shaver.

Great shaver!

What a great shaver! This is the first time I use an electric shaver. Very pleased with the result after the shave. It was a clean and quick shave, leaving smooth skin.Very impressed with the battery life and how quickly it charges. It last me a week! 5 min of charge will give enough juice for your shave.Another benefit is the led screen. It provides information about your battery life when it's time to clean it or when its time to charge it.Due to its lightweight, it's very easy to handle the shaver. Very easy to swap between trim and shave heads. And what a cleaning experience, just let the running water from the tap do the job.The shaving experience was smooth and easy. I have to shave with a blade every time
22 January 2023

The shaver is easy to use, but it takes too long and the end result is very poor. This shaver doesn't shave off all of my growth and I always end up with stubble, scattered all over my face, that is unsightly and impossible to remove, even after rinsing the blades and starting fresh. If I have to leave the house, I always need to follow up with a conventional shave, using shaving cream and a blade razor, in order to look presentable in public. This is definitely not what I expected from a $110 shaver; a total waste of money!!

Quick Results In No Time!

This shaver has changed my morning routine by giving me more time. You get a really close shave, quickly, which gives me more time for other things like breakfast! The shaver itself is lightweight and I like the added lights that tell you what is needed (charging etc.). You can switch the shaver head to a sort of edging tool in seconds and cleaning is simple and is done with the click of the latch and shake or brush off. Shockingly Poor Performance
15 October 2022

I have been using Philips shavers since the 1970s, I have always found them good to use and reliable. However the 5000 series shaver I purchased was by far the worst Philips shaver I have ever used for a shave dry.It severely drags on the skin, to the point it hurts a little, and leaves stubble, the old HQ7825 leaves skin smooth. My wife checked it out also and came to the same conclusions.Given the other reviews and my previous Philips Shaver experience I think I got a faulty one and will make use of the money back guarantee - but I would rather have a new good shaver.

Smooth shave
2 August 2022

Using the shaver dry provides good results but if you use it as wet shaver it really makes an incredible difference. No problem if you haven't shaved over the weekend just use a bit of shaving cream/foam and shave. Totally smooth and clean results without any pinching or tugging. Then just rinse and the shaver is ready to be used again. Perfect results for a great priced top quality shaver.
