These head phones have a really comfortable fit. The ear pads are comfortable and are just the right thickness. The head band is padded to provide a comfortable fit across the top of the head. I like the fact that the cord unplugs from the headset and comes with an adapter which converts the 3.5 mm plug to a 6.3 mm plug. The mid range and high range sound is great. Although the low range sound is good, I don't think it's as good as it should be. Because of that opinion, I took away one star. However, for someone not wanting to invest a fortune and isn't an audiophile, I believe this is a headset that will deliver years of good service and satisfying sound quality. Love, love, love these headphones. My son can listen to his music while the rest of us watch tv. Have been using PHILLIPS products for years. We actually have a Phillips TV that has been going strong for 10 years and counting. These Phillips 9000 series over the ear indoor headphones which completely surround you in music are a perfect fit with the the adjustable band.
These seem like good quality wired headphones. Good sound. Great cushion, they don’t press on your ears. They are adjustable with tick marks on both sides in case you want each side to be pulled down exactly the same amount. The cord is very very long!
The build quality is still the same compared to the Philips SHP9500 though it has fixed some issues. For example now there's a better bass response and the treble is slightly recessed making the SHP9600 a more warm sounding headphone compared to the SHP9500. It also has a deeper padding compared to its predecessor. It's basically a X2HR on a budget. Absolutely recommended

These things have AMAZING sound quality, just running in a good system off of my PC. I am sure out of my AVR they will sound even better, but I can say this - great sound stage, really wonderful full highs and lows, good solid mid-range, and all in a nice light well made package that fits nicely over the ear. THE DESCRIPTION IN THE ADD for these says they are BLUE TOOTH. THEY ARE *** NOT *** BLUETOOH UNITS. Please correct this error. It is more than mis-leading!!!
Open back means a boomy bass. NOT OK for me , but for someone who likes a lot of bass sound. I taped over the opening and it is now usable.
