Haven't tried the lamp yet, but I was so impressed with Crutchfield's delivery! I ordered Thanksgiving night and it arrived by noon on Saturday. Packaging was great too - no damage to product box at all.

Why I'm trying the Phillips table lamp: I got a hand-me-down lamp from my wife and I started realizing the lamp wasn't cutting it. When it was facing me, the light was too bright. Then when I turned it around to bounce light off the wall, it was too dim. The lighting was not great for work from home. Then I saw the Philips Hue Twilight. I'll break down the review into 3 parts, design, installation, and functionality.#1. Design - The lamp simply looks good (at least to me, but may not be for everyone). Soft, smooth edges for the top part of the lamp gives a modern taste. The cork at the bottom has a nice accent. #2. Installation - Install was easy. There was a lamp and a wall adapter. The nice part was the cord plugged into the wall adapter so I could plug the wall ... The nice part was the cord plugged into the wall adapter so I could plug the wall adapter into the wall and fish the cord (without the wall adapter) through the desk without complications. The wall adapter also allows for outlets of different countries by sliding in a new piece. # 3. Functionally - This is where the lamp falls apart. I was excited when I saw the 'google assistant' logo on the box. This is misleading. The only way for this to work is if you PURCHASE A SEPARATE HUE BRIDGE. I was not able to add the lamp to google home natively. I was forced to install the Hue app to "work with google". I went through the steps for them to tell me I needed the Hue Bridge. I'm not spending more money. I did see a zigbee logo, so I added it to Samsung SmartThings app which I had already connected to google home. This worked, but now ONLY THE BACK LIGHT WOULD WORK and the lamp part needed to be controlled manually. So, If I want to use the lamp with google, it's a "smart" lamp without all the fancy stuff advertised. If I use the Hue app, I could control both the back light and lamp. It's a mess. So much potential wasted. The top part of the lamp does twist side to side! I thought it was going to be stationary. By default, to get to my desired lighting, I have to press the on button 5 times.I was looking forward to using this lamp, but the lack of google home integration left me disappointed.

I have several Hue products and I was excited to see what this one could do. I was not disappointed to say the least. Looking at it, one would think this is a small light that has been almost knocked over, the shade being off kilter. But the design allows for two separate sets of lights that allow multiple “scenes” to be used. I set up the “wake up” scene, where the light slowly becomes brighter and brighter and shifting from a dark orange to a bright white, think sunrise. I also use the sunset for the evening on a 60 min timer which is the exact opposite. The lamp is small and compact but produces enough light to replace a common table lamp. If you have this ecosystem already and are looking for a table lamp, give it a shot. Per standard Hue quality and function, you won’t be disappointed. I would recommend if you don’t mind the price, want something a little “extra”, and already have a Hue system in place.
