I've had this for probably a year now and it's a must have in my routine. I was never taught strict hygiene growing up and therefore wasn't the best about brushing. After a few cavities and a large dentist bill I decided to buckle down and bought this toothbrush. A bit expensive, but has many nice features such as different modes, variety of brush heads, and a timer for every quadrant in your mouth so you get just the right amount in every space. I also like the sensor that tells you whether you're using too much pressure. It's helped me get on track and start bettering my hygiene habits. My dentist gives it two thumbs up!

While an expensive item I managed to get this for $286 which includes Philips $50 cashback offer promotion. This model can connect your toothbrush to your smartphone and while I have used this a few times it is an OK feature. It does keep track of your brushing habits to offer advice and tries to give you a 'visual representation' of your brushing and areas where you might need to improve. What I am impressed is really with the included items (Travel case that has built in usb cable, 4x brush heads with various uses and a glass cup that doubles up as a charger. Having used the item now for over a month the unit does a great job of physically (slight pause when brushing) and visually telling you (lights up at bottom of the device) when you are using too much pressure ... MoreWhile an expensive item I managed to get this for $286 which includes Philips $50 cashback offer promotion. What I am impressed is really with the included items (Travel case that has built in usb cable, 4x brush heads with various uses and a glass cup that doubles up as a charger. Having used the item now for over a month the unit does a great job of physically (slight pause when brushing) and visually telling you (lights up at bottom of the device) when you are using too much pressure when brushing. This of course leads to the brush heads being less effective overtime as they are not effective when bent or frayed. While most brushing modes are for 2 minutes (before it automatically switches off). I generally do about 2 minutes for each section (top and bottom) for a good clean. For a light clean 1 minute for each half seems OK. There are a number of modes that you can use depending on the brush heads connected and/or if you prefer a stronger or softer vibration. You can manually change this when you brush irrespective of the brush head connected. When you are using the official brush heads it will automatically select the correct 'mode' for you each time you turn on or connect a new brush head. It has been about a month now and I can certainly say that my mouth feels alot cleaner and I have noticed having much more healthy gums and a shade of whiter teeth. This type of toothbrush does real well in getting into hard to brush places (when compared to my manual brush) and has dislodged food in my teeth that would otherwise need flossing. As for charging the battery I only ever need to do this every 2-3 weeks. It is advisable that you do not leave this device 'always charged' as it will degrade the battery performance over time. So only charge it when you might be travelling or when it is real low. The app will keep track of when you will need to replace the brush head (based on your usage). It keeps separate track of the different heads you use and is a good reminder for when you will need to replace. As this is my first purchase of an electronic toothbrush I don't have any comparison views to share (eg. vs Oral B or vs cheaper Philips models). But you won't be disappointed in the performance of the device nor did I have any issues with the build quality. I have a fairly modern smartphone (Samsung Galaxy S8, 2017 released) and it had no issues connecting or did I have problems with the Philips app that it required me to download. The app's ability to determining your brushing based on the sensors within the toothbrush device is QUESTIONABLE and not that reliable. You really don't require the app to be connected nor do you need to use it. There is enough vibrating feedback to alert you when you need to move on to the next brush area and when you are using too much force. Brush head replacements can be found in a variety of stores/online and if you buy them in bulk packs the cost per year is acceptable. For those considering purchasing this device, consider whether you really want the smartphone connection as you could go for the previous model down which is slightly cheaper (does the same function). Overall really happy with my purchase and don't forget to check the Philips website for cashback offers when considering purchasing as this will help bring the device down to a reasonable purchase price

We purchased a 2 set of Philips Sonicare Diamond clean toothbrushes over a year ago, they have been amazing, I did have an issue with mine so it was sent away to be repaired and they replaced it with an upgraded toothbrush so very happy with Philips service! The battery lasts what seems like forever but you can definitely feel the extra power when fully charged compared to almost flat. They are super quiet, clean the best I have ever experienced and although quite a bit more expensive than some electric toothbrushes they deserve the price tag. My dentist even complimented me on how clean my teeth were looking after using this toothbrush.

The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9750 stands out in the realm of electric toothbrushes. It really sets a new standard for oral hygiene. This is not just any tooth brush, but a comprehensive oral heath tool that delivers more tooth whitening power and better gum health within a few weeks of use, than dose any traditional or electric toothbrush. Alternative. • 5 modes: Clean, White+, Deep Clean+, Gum Health, TongueCare 3 intensity levles. • Removes more plaque than other models. • Superb whitening capabilities. • TongueCare+ brush head. • Smart sensor let's you k ow if youvare brushing to hard and when you need to buy a new head. It really takes the guesswork our of oral health. I highly recommended this beush.
I’ve always used a manual toothbrush as i like to know my teeth have had a good clean. After using the Philips Sonicare only after a few days i was amazed that my teeth felt so clean. I feel like this toothbrush is providing a more powerful thorough clean removing particles much more than a manual toothbrush as I’m noticing my interdental brushes are “clean”I love that the toothbrush has different settings which determine what clean you want. I’m currently using the white setting first thing and switch to a normal clean before bed.I also like the aesthetically pleasing charging glass which comes with the toothbrush.I like to travel a lot and this toothbrush comes with a USB travel case which is really handy.I find the timer on the toothbrush a great ... MoreI’ve always used a manual toothbrush as i like to know my teeth have had a good clean. After using the Philips Sonicare only after a few days i was amazed that my teeth felt so clean. I'm rating the DiamondClean as a 3 because I've owned 3 in the last 5 years.I'm a long time user of Sonicare toothbrushes (at least 20 years); We used to use another brand and the Sonicare toothbrush is far superior and my dentist is always complementing my teeth and gum health. My first experience was the e series - expensive replacement brushes, bulky...Then My husband bought the next series - not sure which it was but I used it for 10~15 years; the handle grip rubber started to peel off..soMy husband bought me the DiamondClean; black, sleek, sexy, came with a glass charger and a travel charger kit - Loved it however after only 1.5 years of use the tip started to wobble; I called Sonicare and they sent me a replacement - I was happy for about 2 more years - ... MoreI'm rating the DiamondClean as a 3 because I've owned 3 in the last 5 years.I'm a long time user of Sonicare toothbrushes (at least 20 years); We used to use another brand and the Sonicare toothbrush is far superior and my dentist is always complementing my teeth and gum health. I'm not sure why, my guess is the lithium ion rechargeable battery wore out. (I read on line lithium ion rechargeable batteries last about 5 years - mine lasted only 2) I called Sonicare and they told me my warrenty would not be honered on the replacement date and the origional purchase date was out of warrently. They gave me a 15% off coupon however when I went to their website I saw there was a 15% off sitewide so my special coupon did not seem very special.I was so unhappy, the idea of spending so much for another sonicare toothbrush (plus the cost for additional replacement heads every 3 months) seemed irresponsible; not to mention...brushing manually made me feel really spoiled. To my surprise, my husband bought me a new DiamondClean classic edition toothbrush for my birthday. I could not be happier; I tore open the box and ran to plug it in to start charging it...I also registered it right away - a 2.5 year warranty.Technically speaking the idea of spending so much every 2.5 years - really seems excessive. My big question to Sonicare is, what was wrong with the first rechargeable battery that lasted 10+ years. My 2nd question is; why not make it easy to replace the darn lithum ion rechargeable battery or at the very least provide a replacement battery service.Clearly, the Sonicare toothbrush is one of the best brushing experiences anyone will have. Why not make the product experience just as nice; or extend the warranty to 5 years. I was so on the fence; already searching for a competitor product that might last longer. Luckily my husband came in and saved the day...I can tell you this much -we can't afford to purchase these for our teenagers. Could you imagine the cost? Every 2.5 years...
I have already rated this same toothbrush in white, so I won't repeat myself for a black model except to say that this model was the newer model that came with the Deep Clean mode in lieu of the older Polish mode and three different brush heads (DiamondClean, Adaptive Care, and Inter Care) in place of the standard and compact-sized DiamondClean brush heads. The three brush heads was a nice surprise but I am not sure it was a better replacement for the vertical charger stand that came with the older model but not with this. However, Philips did send me that charger stand at no cost. So, all in all, and my thinking it was accidentally omitted from the packaging since it was in the older model and why would it not be in this one, it really was a good deal. So, all in all, and my thinking it was accidentally omitted from the packaging since it was in the older model and why would it not be in this one, it really was a good deal. Plus the fact that my seller price matched it to a lower-priced seller, was made it sweeter. As to what I said in my earlier review, I will again state, except for the just out Sonic Smart version of the DiamondClean (it's too bad these can't be sent back for an upgrade by Philips similar to taking a computer back for more memory), the power and greatness of these two models are the exact same and the DiamondClean gives me the absolute best cleaning ever over any brand on the market and I have owned all of them. One more thing that I must add: Using just one brush head is bad. One should use more than one type. I use the Adaptive Clean once a week for a special deep-down cleaning or more often if I feel it needed; the DiamondClean once daily, the Inter Care when I feel that I need to get a good cleaning more in between my teeth, but my basic brush head is the Gentle or Sensitive (on the Clean Mode) brush head as most dentists like us to brush our teeth with a soft tooth brush so I use it every morning, afternoon and evening. At 01:00, just before going to sleep, to protect my gums from getting more gumline cavities due to a very strong opiate I take for chronic pain, I use a special Fluoride Gel Rx Gel prescribed by my Dentist or Physician each night just before bed with the Gum Care brush head. So, I have five different brush heads used at different times during any given week, some each day, but for different reasons and for different needs.Using these different heads with different cleaning modes is the real trick of the the best value from the DiamondClean toothbrush. And just as important is that you absolutely trade in any brush head that you use more than 180-200 times for a new one.
I have always struggled with dental hygiene until discovering Sonicare 6 years ago. Before then, I had brief experiences with other brands of electric toothbrush but they all worked on the simple theory of abrasion (through rotation) which didn't do anything useful for me. Sonicare, on the other hand, was a game changer with their ultrasonic technology. It left me with clean-feeling teeth everytime I used it, akin to a session of dental cleaning! Since this discovery, my entire family has switched to Sonicare toothbrushesSo the HX9312/04 DiamondClean electric toothbrush is one of the highest end of Sonicare models and it shows in the quality packaging and more importantly, the toothbrush itself. The package contains the toothbrush handle, 2 DiamondClean brush heads, wireless glass charger, the handy USB travel case which doubles as a charger itself and a 2-pin power supply. The toothbrush handle itself is very well-made, coming in a satin-finish which feels ceramic-like and accentuated with a copper-coloured metallic bits. There is single button that cycles through the 5 available cleaning modes (Clean, Gum care, Polish, Sensitive and White). A full charge takes approximately 24hrs to complete and there is a simple battery indicator that pulses to let you know charging is underway.A brief explanation of how brushing works here. Sonicare advocates 2 mins of cleaning time - 30 seconds for each quadrant of teeth. By switching its vibrating frequency momentarily every 30 seconds, the toothbrush lets you know to switch quadrant so as not to "over brush" a particular area.Using the DiamondClean electric toothbrush for the 1st time, I came way convinced that Philips has upped the game again. First impressions are that the motor is much more refined in this model and leaves an even cleaner result! I was initially sceptical of the various brush modes but having tried them I believe they do work. I suffer from sensitive and receding gums and I was able to brush painlessly using the Gum care mode. This alone is worth the price of admission. I also gave the Whiten mode a spin and found that there is a slight and observable improvement. If you care about your dental hygiene, there is nothing in the market that will come close to Sonicare in helping you reach that goal. With the Sonicare DiamondClean HX9312/04, Philips has raised the bar again. It is nothing short of amazing, being beautifully made and comes with features that will do wonders for your teeth!
