First time user of this type of toothbrush. Feels different in use and may highlight some sensitivity in teeth/gums but as the dentist says - use a sensitive toothpaste. In use sounds noisy but if you notice the upper and lower teeth sound different - you get bone transmission of sound with the upper teeth so sounds louder, but actually OK and not intrusive sound to others. Usage time between charges is very good, though so far despite a long charging time the indicator has never changed to a non-flashing LED. Most important I think is download the PDF manual - the enclosed small 'get you started' leaflet and tiny illustrations doesn't tell you what you need to know about how to use it.

Probably the worst electric toothbrush in 45 years
5 October 2023

Having had multiple electric toothbrushes over the years of both the popular brands this is I think the worst.-The body is a bit too thin and slippery to grip well particularly when the inevitable toothpaste and saliva gets on to it.-The on/off button is too subtle to feel to easily maintain orientation of the brush in your mouth.-The pressure sensor is IMO far to high if you pressed anywhere that hard the brush heads would last about a week.-Turning off the easy start/brush replacement is at best confusing.-Although I have to assume that it vibrates at the quoted frequency the brush doesn't feel like it has as much power or torque as my old one and so doesn't feel like it is doing such a good job.On the positive side it does still seem to have about a 2 ... MoreHaving had multiple electric toothbrushes over the years of both the popular brands this is I think the worst.-The body is a bit too thin and slippery to grip well particularly when the inevitable toothpaste and saliva gets on to it.-The on/off button is too subtle to feel to easily maintain orientation of the brush in your mouth.-The pressure sensor is IMO far to high if you pressed anywhere that hard the brush heads would last about a week.-Turning off the easy start/brush replacement is at best confusing.-Although I have to assume that it vibrates at the quoted frequency the brush doesn't feel like it has as much power or torque as my old one and so doesn't feel like it is doing such a good job.On the positive side it does still seem to have about a 2 week battery life which means I generally won't have to take the charger on holiday but the USB one is less bulky if I do and my old 2 pin one still works with this new brush.

Seems to work well but poor instructions
19 June 2023

I bought this to replace a Sonicare HX5350/02 which I had had since November 2011 because the switch became faulty. Initially, I was disappointed with the HX3671/14 because the instructions were almost meaningless and after charging instinctively and using for the first time the performance seemed weak. However, after using it for several weeks, I have become used to it and it DOES clean my teeth. It feels like the pressure has increased. I normally clean my teeth for just over one minute (judging by the SmarTimer) and the battery lasted for 39 days with two brushings per day. It is a pity that I had to 'Unlock one extra year of warranty' on line (presumably that means three years total?) before I became aware of the full operating instructions.

Compared to my manual brush I was sceptic about the results but after a week of using it my teeth feel cleaner, my gums are a lot more healthier. As a avid flosser I usually do this every other day but I’m now finding I don’t have to floss half as much and maybe once a week is all that’s needed. I was pleasantly surprised at how small the charging station was, this made it easier to travel with fitting in a small bag (for anyone who likes to have a toothbrush handy). Very easy to use with the guided 2 minutes went quicker than usual hardly any pressure needed and teeth feel cleaner than ever even the really tricky areas on the back teeth feel really clean *based on a manual brush*. The pressure sensor made me aware of how hard I was brushing, with the sensor making you aware instantly by a clear buzzing I could correct this immediately therefore I find my gums are being cleaned better without damaging them, this I found very handy, the speed of the brush head ensured all areas were cleaned very quickly compared to a manual brush I always found I brushing for a lot longer was required to reach this level of cleanliness, I felt I was brushing better for the required amount of time rather than guessing and having to re do. Not only does this product live up to its description it looks very stylish, it’s slim design makes it easy to hold and better to reach those tricky areas. I have only fully charged the product once and it was still working to full capacity 7days later and only then indicating it needs to be charged although this has not changed it’s performance in any way! , many people have commented on how much whiter my teeth are even my dentist has recognised the healthier gums, I would highly recommend this product for cleaner and healthier teeth and gums

So, my first forray into electric toothbrushes. I have stoically stuck to my guns and never purchased or used one in the past, so, this was quite an eye opening time for me.Firstly, yes. Good grief it's better than a normal toothbrush. It's actually a real shock, your teeth feel so much cleaner, your mouth does feel fresher and, there is a huge difference. This particular brush has a nifty little trick or two, it tells you via a vibration if you are using too much pressure, excellent idea for those of us with sensitive gums, also, a smart timer, giving you great control of your timings for how long you spend on each part of your mouth.I know, it's just a toothbrush, but, it's my first non manual one, and, because it's something I use every day, for me at least ... MoreSo, my first forray into electric toothbrushes. I love the fact that it's reasonably lightweight, first thing in the morning you don't want to be wrestling with a heavy electric toothbrush, the battery life says 14 days, mine has been going a lot longer, and that's with daily use, twice a day based on 2 minutes per usage. So if you go away, and don't want to lug about a charger for it, you don't need to. Also, it comes with a very small charger, again, a boon for space saving in the bedroom or en suite charging. To sum up, I love it, my first electric toothbrush and I'm incredibly impressed. Small enough to pack when you go away, powerful enough to really clean your teeth and gums beautifully and, even looks smart. Love it

I would highly recommend the Phillips sonic 3100 electric toothbrush, i think this product is perfect for any age of adult and also suitable for young adults. Ive found this toothbrush very easy to use and is surprisingly lightweight when compared to other electric brushes. During use it has a rather delicate but effective movement to its head which was a pleasant surprise compared to my old rather abrasive brush. I really like the overall design of this brush, its design is sleek and perfected and perfectly Balanced. It certainly looks and feels a top of the range product. I'm very happy with the improvements in my oral health since using this toothbrush and would highly recommend to others, i will be buying this for my hubby to upgrade his toothbrush.

[Rewarded Review] Oral hygiene with a gentle buzz

The Philips Sonicare 3100 toothbrush is excellent...when you are used to it! After so many years using an old-fashioned, manual, toothbrush I wasn’t quite ready for the buzz and tingle that you get with the Sonicare 3100. I have to be honest here, I was three or four days into using the Sonicare 3100 before the majority of my face (teeth, lips, gums, and nose) became accustomed to the zip and tickle. I have been using the Sonicare for about a month now and I am not going back.I love the Sonicare 3100’s easy USB charging facility and the fact that it ‘tells’ you when it needs charging. It also advises you by way of a ‘paused buzz’ that it’s time to concentrate on another area your teeth and shuts down when you’ve brushed enough. It’s very easy to keep it clean too, just rinse in clean water and shake it dry. My old manual used to hold on to water and toothpaste no matter how hard I tried to clean it.The Sonicare 3100 is about the best toothbrush I’ve ever used, after the initial few days of getting used to the new sensations, and my teeth haven’t felt so clean for years.I should add that I am able to offer this view of the Sonicare 3100’s efficiency because it’s been surprisingly gentle to use despite an accident where I suffered considerable cuts and bruises to my mouth and damage to my top teeth.

[Rewarded Review] Sensitive clean without compromising power
22 November 2021

This is the first time I have tried a Philips electric toothbrush as I have always had other brands. I’ve had it a few weeks and can already say I prefer this toothbrush. Here are a few reasons why I like this device:Sensitivity - It feels really sensitive on my teeth and gums but at the same time feels powerful and I know I’m getting a good clean. The vibration action is feels soft over my teeth but also powerful in a weird way. A negative would be when you want to concentrate on a specific area, you feel you can’t push down hard as the brush is so sensitive, and buzzes if you push down hard.Battery life - By far the best toothbrush for battery life. A negative would be when you want to concentrate on a specific area, you feel you can’t push down hard as the brush is so sensitive, and buzzes if you push down hard.Battery life - By far the best toothbrush for battery life. It lasts about 3 weeks with no charge. Also I love the fact that when its out of battery it goes from 100% power to 0%. A lot of other tooth brushes start to power down after a few uses and you feel you have to charge it up to get full capacity. This toothbrush stays at 100% and won’t compensate for anything less. This is my favourite feature.Design - I love the black style, just wish they did black brush heads!Charger - Really love the fact its USB charger. I always get caught short with charger adapters so having a USB really helps, I plug it into my phone charger and even my PC/laptop.Brush head - Feels a bit flimsy when you brush too hard - feels like it bends, but I know its part of the design for notifying you when brushing too hard.Summary: Feels like a fine-tuned action, so really good for sensitive teeth/gums but doesn’t compromise on cleaning power. Other toothbrushes feel like they clean with brut force, which would damage gums in the long run. I can see this tooth brush being really beneficial for gums in the long term. The battery life is amazing and don’t worry about it ‘fading’ power like other brands. His and Hers - Although I like the fact this comes in a pack of 2, they don’t do two more neutral colours like black and white.
