I bought this product when my old Sonicare Diamond started to get really loud and just didn't brush as well anymore. Unboxing it was a treat. Just a day or two of regular usage you'll be able to figure it out pretty much. Adapt and adopt. It also offers 3 level intensity option and 5 different brushing modes depending on what you want to focus on, I personally advise to stick with deep clean. The smart mobile app also provides real-time guidance, progress reporting, personalised brushing recommendations and auto syncing. The brush head monitor also gives you an updated status as to how many brush sessions you have left and will notify you if you will need to change it soon. Very easy to charge and the no pin charging stand is not bulky at all. It comes with a very sleek and luxurious travel case. And to top it all off, the toothbrush itself looks aesthetically so good, so chic and expensive (well it is, but thanks to Shavershop I got a really good deal).

One last thing, the app does not guide you to brush the biting surfaces of teeth so when you run your brush over those surfaces you will take time away from other surfaces and your app will say you did not brush for 2 minutes. The touch up option on app is hit or miss as it sometimes pops up and sometimes it doesn't. Do yourself a favor and just buy the non smart original diamondclean.

I really enjoy using this toothbrush. I have found it immensely effective in holding me accountable to good oral hygiene. I’ve been guilty of going to bed without brushing now and then after a particularly exhausting day , I like that the app reminds me if I need to increase frequency and if I’m scrubbing too hard, applying too much or too little pressure. It also shows me in real time, how good I’m brushing in each area and gives me additional time to touch up any areas I may have been less effective on. I also really like that the toothbrush allows me to change how much pressure the brush applies. It also vibrates to let me know if I’m scrubbing too fast or too hard. In the three weeks of use, I’ve had to reconnect approximately 8 times. The app is supposed to connect to your brush as soon as you turn your toothbrush on, so it would throw off my readings by saying I wasn’t brushing long enough - even though it never appeared to connect. It was reading me turning the brush on and off trying to connect to the app as me brushing for short amounts of time. If it wasn’t for the app I would have given 5 stars. I will update my review as further updates to the app happen and with more use. I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion. This also may be due to the smart sensing algorithm adapting to my brushing habits but as soon as I charge it back to full I do get more powerful vibrations. I don't find the counter for how many times you brushed very useful since it doesn't accurately track when I actually brush. Sometimes I have to power off the brush to take a break or restart when I feel like going back to an area but the counter all counts up even when not a full brushing cycle is done. I also would like more flexibility in the app to set custom times and intensities for different areas of my teeth. I'm also not clear on how often I need to re-sync my brush with the app: if I need to do it while brushing or can it be done while charging etc.Please note I have received compensation (got to keep the toothbrush) as part of product test.

The app will recognize the toothbrush and connect your toothbrush via Bluetooth. Once you are connected, you can choose the order of the six pre-timed spacer zones (which buzz and alert you when it’s time to move the toothbrush to a different zone in your mouth). You can also program the toothbrush for zones which may need special attention like gum health. If you don’t own a smart phone and can’t use the app, you can change settings directly on the toothbrush by holding the power button for several seconds. But then if you don’t own a smart phone, you likely don’t need to buy a toothbrush which benefits from using a smart phone app.It’s already preprogrammed at the highest intensity brushing for 2 minutes. But through the app, you can adjust the settings to White+, Gum Health, Deep Clean, Sensitive and it even can alert you if you are using too much pressure by lighting up the bottom of the toothbrush handle. Finally, the app can even send an update to the toothbrush handle. Mine came with the latest software version. My, how things in toothbrush technology have changed!The toothbrush head on the Sonicare 9900 Prestige uses a Premium All-in One brush head with BrushSync Technology. It has a special symbol on the head and A3 to let you know it’s the right brush head for this system. BrushSync means, the toothbrush head communicates with handle using a microchip, it monitors brushing as well as when it’s time to replace the brush head. Since this is such a new system, replacement heads will need to be ordered directly from Philips. Maybe in the future there will be other buying options.For traveling, the system comes with a very-nice compact travel case with a USB connector (standard USB A to USB C), covered in a stylish “vegan” friendly leather. You simply put the toothbrush in the travel case and plug the USB cable into the end of the case and the supplied charging brick to charge the toothbrush. This makes it simpler than having to carry the charging base the toothbrush sits in on with you. While the travel case is compact, it would have been nice if it was slightly larger and included a place to store the USB cable and charging brick.Comparing this newest Sonicare to my previous Sonicare, it has the same solid feel in hand, yet its sleeker. It is a bit louder at the highest intensity. I do think my teeth feel cleaner though, so I’ll take louder for cleaner teeth. My previous Sonicare had what was called Quad-Spacer, which divided your mouth into 4 zones. This newer design has 6 zones (side/front/side top and bottom). I’m not sure why I need 6 zones as opposed to 4, but I’m adjusting.If you have never experienced a Sonicare Toothbrush, you don’t know what you’re missing. I’ve entrusted Sonicare to care for my teeth for years and I know my teeth are cleaner, my gums are healthier, and my dental bills reduced. I’d like to keep all of my teeth as long as possible, so while not inexpensive, this system is well worth the price of admission if you want the absolute best there is. Do you have to spend this much for an electric toothbrush? No, of course not. If your budget doesn’t permit this highest end Sonicare, their other systems are excellent as well. And with years of using their toothbrushes, I simply cannot recommend them enough!
The Sonicare Prestige 9900 is a truly an amazing electric toothbrush unlike any other I used before and I have had my share of using many. It is designed with elegant simplicity from the toothbrush to the carry-case and charger. Surprisingly very light in the hand yet very efficient in delivering results unbelievably akin to a dentist clean! It’s super quiet and super easy to operate without any cumbersome buttons and screens that you find on other toothbrushes in the same league. Best of all, it has “One Brush Head to Rule Them All” and it will tell you when to change it. The controls and features hidden in the accompanying app are amazing for more customised brushing style. Surprisingly very light in the hand yet very efficient in delivering results unbelievably akin to a dentist clean! It’s super quiet and super easy to operate without any cumbersome buttons and screens that you find on other toothbrushes in the same league. Best of all, it has “One Brush Head to Rule Them All” and it will tell you when to change it. The controls and features hidden in the accompanying app are amazing for more customised brushing style. I love that the mobile app that allows me to choose my level of brushing intensity, monitor my daily brushing habits, and alert me if I am scrubbing too much or using too much pressure (definitely something I need as I've been known to brush too hard). I also love that using the app with the toothbrush allows me to ensure that I'm brushing all my teeth equally. This toothbrush breaks down the cleaning areas into 6 sections rather than the 4 quadrants that my prior toothbrush used. I feel that using 6 sections of cleaning actually allows me to better focus on each smaller area and brush my teeth without missing any teeth. Again, the app also helps guide you through cleaning each section with a timer so that you can ensure that all teeth are receiving equal cleaning.The SenseIQ feature is also amazing with this toothbrush as it will adjust intensity if it senses you are pushing too hard and a light at the bottom of the brush will light up until you reduce the pressure. My gums are certainly thankful for this feature and relief from my tendency toward vigorous scrubbing and hard brushing.The cleaning power of this toothbrush is phenomenal and I honestly have to say that my teeth feel so much cleaner after using this toothbrush and I feel like they are even whiter than they've been in a while. The toothbrush head is a different design than any other Sonicare brushes I have used, and seems to really do the job.I also really love that this toothbrush comes in pink and includes a really nice pink travel charging case. The whole setup is very sleek and elegant and looks so nice on my bathroom counter. I definitely would recommend this toothbrush!I have received compensation as part of the product test.
20 days after purchase the handle battery is dead and cannot be charged. Replacement service is awful and absolute waste of time. During my 20 days experience with this extremely expensive toothbrush my observations are as follows:- Battery lasts for a few days and must be charged.- The tracking on the app is not precise and would be in error most of the time and would show that you covered parts that you actually did not cover and the opposite. This happens even if you go with the set direction and starting position. If you do not start from that point, it would be even worse. It is not reliable.- The stats in the app - extremely limited.
