The main reason for a three star review is lack of photo editing software that works with this printer. All the printer comes with is a driver so your applications can print to it, however, it is very trial and error regarding the results, wasting a great deal of printer supplies. If you can get a Canon camera to connect to it, good luck, our ELPH360HS camera won't connect to anything. WIFI communication is useless. Expect to use a specialized printer cable with this printer. Color and sharpness are as good as now obsolete selphy printers and the good thing is your obsolete selphy supplies will work with this printer. While Canon produces some of the best cameras and photo printers on the market, I think they are falling behind with their cameras and printers likely being replaced by smart phones with greater capability and interfacing with online printing services. If needing an instant photo like a Polaroid, this printer will fit the bill. If needed to print wallet photos for family, it is difficult. Also, getting the printer driver to work with photo editing software does not always print the size selected for the paper I imagine due to driver conflicts with the editing software.

I wanted to get a printer that I could carry with me in some situations, so that I'd be able to offer a quick print to someone whose photo I just shot.First off, I like the print quality. It's not the same as a baryta print from a high-end inkjet, but it has its own quality, and overall, it produces a very good-quality print. This printer checks a lot of boxes: small, light, compact and prints easily from an SD card.Where it gets difficult is connecting to my camera (Ricoh GR) wirelessly. That may be the fault of my camera, or most likely it's me. I haven't tried connecting to my Fuji camera yet, I expect it will be similar to connecting the Ricoh.Overall, I'm very pleased with this printer, it does what I need it to do and quickly, without making a noisy mess.

I am so delighted with this printer. I used to have a Sprocket that I used for scrapbooking. I needed to get some new paper for it and it was sold out everywhere. I then went on to find out that it had been discontinued so I was looking for something that would produce small prints. After much research I decided to get the CP1300 and am so pleased with it. The app allows you do do loads of different sized photos (on 6" x 4" postcard sized paper). Love that the ink and paper are one package and it produces fantastic quality prints. As good if not better than getting them done in a photography shop or Pharmacy. Highly recommend.

Good print quality...once you get past the setup, which is almost comically difficult. I spent well over an hour working past the confusing instructions (both the package insert and the online version) for how to connect wirelessly, from my phone and from my Mac Mini. The instructions led me to several very frustrating dead-ends. I was on the verge of packing it up and returning it. It now appears to be working, albeit the Canon software and pop-up screen are clunky and not intuitive. Also, the external charger is very heavy and bulky; something to consider if you're planning (as am I) to travel with this unit. Furthermore, the photo paper tray doesn't nest nicely into the printer unit, making packing more awkward. Furthermore, the photo paper tray doesn't nest nicely into the printer unit, making packing more awkward. Were I to do this again, I'd get the competing product (I'll not name it) that can be powered by a USB source, and which has a nicely designed magnet-abetted nest for the paper tray. Although that product is a bit more bulky, it is probably ends up to be about the same as the Selphy when you consider the Selphy's external charging unit and non-integrated photo tray storage. Also...I'm not at all sure that the Selphy's pop-up screen adds anything but complexity, if you consider that all of its functions could be more simply provided by a well-designed cell-phone application. I might mention that the Selphy iPhone app simply doesn't work.
SELPHY printers are capable of producing very high quality 148mm X100mm (5.83 inch X 3.93 inch) dye-transfer prints. This CP1500 is slightly (about 10%) faster than my previous CP-1200 and CP-1300 versions as well as having a smaller footprint. It also FINALLY cures a long standing Canon SELPHY issue by not wasting a set of dye films every time the printer is powered up. If you just print a few prints at a time this can dramatically reduce the amount of dye-film being wasted.I drive the CP-1500 via a USB connection from an iMac. It's disappointing that the other print formats and options (like the selection of surface treatment of the clear overcoat print layer) available through the IOS (phone or tablet) driver are NOT available in the full Mac driver version. It would be nice if Canon provided access to the full print capability that's in the printer in a more complete Mac driver. C'mon Canon, it's time for a driver software update! Not everyone prints form a smartphone.
These Selphy printers are highly underrated. Just upgraded from the old CP800 and this was a great upgrade. Wireless printing directly from your phone or via your home network was seamless. The photos are beautiful with deep blacks and nice colors. The photos also print pretty fast, definitely faster than the older Selphys.By the way the battery, paper tray and power adapter all seem to be interchangeable from the old CP800 and even though my ink cartridge sat in the printer for years, the photos print with zero issues. If only the big printers worked this well.As a little treat, try printing a bookmark with the background set to black or try printing a contact sheet directly from your SD card with the file names displayed to help you or your client choose your ... MoreThese Selphy printers are highly underrated. I really liked my HP PhotoSmart GoGo 335 6x4 photo printer. Great print quality, portable size, and battery powered. However, since it was over 15 years old, Windows no longer had printer drivers for it, it had no wireless capability, the SD card reader was not HC or XC compliant (limited to 2GB SD cards), batteries failed and were totally not replaceable, and lastly, HP has obscenely run up the price on print cartridges to over $70 each! At least wired Pict Bridge still works. This Canon printer solves all those problems. I tested it's print quality versus the HP, and it's not quite as good, but close enough, and it costs half as much to print a 6x4 photo as the HP. It's even a little smaller than the HP, so a bit easier to take on the road. The photo shows two prints, The top one is from the HP Photosmart printer, the bottom one from the Selphy CP1300. The Hp photo shows better dynamic range. The water spots on the HP printer came after the printout, but demonstrates that the photos are not immune to water droplets, the Canon prints are supposed to be protected by a clear layer on the photo.
1st of all sent on wild goose chase saying in store when it wasn't there!Went home ordered online click an collect next day! printer is great just like my old Kodak camera dock an printer, pictures are much better like old photos wanted as just had a granddaughter an wanted to give my mum photos as she's old school to physically have so she can have in a frame/album . Only downside is you have to buy ink /paper separately which I also bought in store so I could use it straight away making it quite expensive but well worth it if you want to print straight off your phone as I do have loads of them over the years to print. Can do different sizes up to 6+4 an come out glossy or Matt depending what you choose. I wish I knew about it sooner .
Ordered this for family pics as well as passport pics. Delivered next day. This is tiny. A lot smaller than expected. Took a couple minutes to set up and connect to phone and camera. Prints very quick. Quality is incredible. Nice size screen makes editing pics from SD card super simple. Has option to crop and add border design/animations, as well as an ID feature to help with requirements for passports, ID cards, etc.. Would recommend getting the battery to make it truly portable. The ink cartridge stays inside the printer, and the tray is smaller than the printer, so you can stack the tray and printer when not in use and it can fit in a mini backpack or a handbag. Only complaint is that the cost per picture is relatively high(around 30 cents a picture). Picture of ... MoreOrdered this for family pics as well as passport pics. Delivered next day. This is tiny. TL;DRIt works better than I expected, and I recommend it.I'm a commercial photographer based in NYC, and a client wanted prints on site for a charity golf event. I haven't done printing on site in 11years, and the last time I did I was able to rent a dye-sublimationprinter for a NY rental house. They're no longer available locally,so I looked into buying one. The least expensive commercial-gradedye-sub printer was $495, but none was available anywhere, so Ibought two Canon Selphy CP-1300 printers. They're not intended forcommercial use, and are slower than commercial printers, but we wereable to deliver the prints my client needed running two at a time.Print quality is very good, and I have a happy client. We printed from Lightroom over a WiFinetwork (we brought our own WiFi router so we wouldn't have to sharebandwidth, and it worked without a hitch).
