Bought this to temporarily house some chickens while the main coop is being built. A bit flimsy and a lot of the manufacturers rivet holes did not line up. The door mesh was also lined up with some of the rivet holes and in the way. Expect to use a 4mm drill bit here and there and know that it is very thin and flimsy. Will definitely be adding cross bracing on the door and walls. In retrospect I should've bought colourbond sheets and done a frame from scrap wood.

I bought two of these fowl houses. The first one took two people over 4 hours to put together. The main issue being one panel did not seem to have the holes drilled in the right place. Not to worry we thought - we will know what to do with the next one. Same issue - another 4 hours. As I was paying two friends to put together the fowl houses, they became very expensive indeed. They are also very flimsy and a puff of wind would blow them over. You need to work out some way of securing them upright. I recommend no one buys this product.

I read the previous reviews before i bought this so i was ready for a fight. Holes didnt always line up but most of the time they did, you just have to work a bit sometimes to line them up. Youll need a good rivet gun (my old one kept playing up which made things more tedious), and a drill with 3mm drill bit (as youll need to drill your own holes from time to time). Youll need to be a bit handy to put this together or at least have some patience!Overall it is a solid construction once finished, and for the price it is brilliant. There are plenty of imperfections but it is only $200 so cant complain. In the end, it looks neat and it works. Not sure what else youâd like want other than perhaps a different design or colour.

We just completed building this, we went into it petrified due to the other reviews saying it was impossible to build but in actual fact its pretty simple! Deffs have a 3mm bit handy as there was like 5 holes that just didn't want to line up but all in all if you take your time to read the instructions its pretty simple and the result is a sturdy and very reasonably priced unit. Considering a cage this size can cost triple the amount Im ecstatic!Hubby and I built it over 4 hours with constant interruptions like diaper and lunch breaks we had a pretty chill work ethic. Could be knocked together in half the time. If it came assembled I'd give 5 stars. Now for a bevy!
I bought this fowl house mainly because itâs advertised as an easy assembly. I have put together at least 10,000 other things including furniture, sheds - I was even an owner builder for an entire house! This stupid aviary is more complicated than building from scratch- youâll need saw horses, clamps, rivet gun- on top of the expected tools- its cost me a fortune in extras that ive needed and with 3 people trying to hold it together its still not lining up with the âpre drilledâ holes. Thanks for that! $700 later to get a builder to tell me itâs rubbish and to start again. In the bin it goes. Donât waste your money or your sanity on this one. Love bunnings- hate this fowl house.
Not easy to put together. Need at least 2 people, basic knowledge of such designs and proper tools. Several holes do NOT line up, no matter how it's put together. The 2 front panels come pre-made, but this makes it more difficult to put together. Instructions are not clear in several steps, and it does not clearly state when to switch between screw sizes, leaving it up to you to figure out. Actually ended up having to cut some of the edges to make it fit properly. 3 out of 4 sides have a corner frame piece to hold the wall panels together, but there is no 4th one for some bizarre reason, and only 2 of the 4 holes on this side Actually line up, meaning the middle is left with nothing. Also, for something specifically designed as a fowl house to be zinc lined, with ... MoreNot easy to put together. Need at least 2 people, basic knowledge of such designs and proper tools. This was quite difficult to put together. I was able to follow the instructions most of the time. Some holes would not align, so required drilling of a new hole. The biggest problem came toward the end when the front bottom corners weren't able to align. A piece of metal had to be cut on the side piece for them to align (wouldn't have been able to complete construction without doing this). Looking at reviews from 1-2 years ago, people were having the same issue - so I am quite disappointed that the manufacturer hasn't fixed the problem yet. There were also 3 holes that were completely missing from the front right piece. A rivet gun was required, luckily I had one - but many others won't. Besides these issues, I would still pay ~$200 simply for the value for money ... MoreThis was quite difficult to put together. I was able to follow the instructions most of the time. I expected all of these issues as I had read the reviews prior to purchasing and took my luck. 1 star simply because i can see this has been a long standing issue.
I purchased this this week, and have just finished constructing it.The good news? I have a functional little chook house at the right price. The bad news? The instructions are unclear in places, to the extent that they are borderline incorrect. I had to drill out some rivets because the âlower lip to the outsideâ referred to the *other* piece of metal ... not fun. Worse, holes were not always in the right place. I had to drill a number of screw holes because the original ones were way out of place. Other holes were so burred that I had to ream them out to use them. This is all a great pity, as it is a useful item and it does not have a ready alternative at Bunnings. (There are other fowl houses, but they are configured differently, which made them unsuitable for me.). It would be improved by a 1.8 m roof and provision for a chook door; I cut the latter with an angle grinder.
This product was incredibly difficult to put together mad even worse by very unclear instructions. I am not a novice in assembling items such like this. This was however the worst experience putting an item together. There is nothing fast and simple so unless you are an extreme tradesmen I would not even bother trying to attempt. I am taking it back as for the money and advertisement it should be much easier to assemble.
Bought this yesterday 25/10/22, was a pain to put together took my partner and I about 6 hours in total to put this together, was not entirely impressed as the holes were not marked properly and we had to make and drill our own holes! Very flimsy but I guess it does the job? Just wish it was easier to put together and the instructions were clearer.
