It will do, but only for a year or so. But good if you'd like to end up with a rusty bucket ornament for your garden.Don't buy twice, nor plastic, buy a stainless steel bucket.

We bought this to collect/save water in the shower while waiting for our hot water and use it to water our plants around the house. Construction and handle is strong enough to carry and hold a full bucket of water, although within a with the metal on this inside and base began to tarnish. Still functions well.

I have used these buckets to plant hydrangeas and succulents and they look great so unable to comment on their bucket type qualities.
I use this for gardening, to carry tools and to collect weeds and rubbish
The handle on this bucket just isn't wide enough. It's the way the wire is bent - it's just slightly too narrow for my hand. I'm a fairly tall person, but my hands aren't too much bigger than average - these buckets are just made for smaller hands. The question is, why does the wire need to be bent near the handle at all?Otherwise the bucket seems sturdy.
Both leaked. Bought one, leaked significantly the second it was filled with water. Replaced one leaked in the seam as well. Poor spot soldering, No constant welding in seams. Bucket was thin, lightweight even though advertised as heavy duty.
Big, exactly what I needed. This bucket will last me for decades.
I bought two of these for use for dogs who love to destroy plastic buckets. One started going rusty very quicy. The other has a couple of minor spots. Not worth it if keeping water sitting in them.
The bucket...I need it filled with water. However, the handle is a bit too weak and tends to bend a bit because of the weight. I can't see it lasting for a great length of time. Still, can't complain, at least it doesn't leak.
