Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H Classic Tyre

(537 reviews)

Cinturato Gravel Hard Terrain is the specific tire for gravel use designed for compact terrains and the hardest surfaces. The tread features low and close blocks and a high property to conform to the ground, giving high contact surface and therefore excellent driving feeling. The special compound SpeedGRIP Compound adds characteristics of mechanical resistance and chemical grip without reducing smoothness. Cinturato Gravel Hard Terrain is a performing clincher with unique grip characteristics in all conditions, both on dry and wet surfaces, as well as a high level of puncture protection. The Cinturato Gravel Hard Terrain tread is composed of base and close-together blocks and a compound that guarantees grip, high conformability to the ground and wear resistance at the same time. The height of the blocks is reduced to increase smoothness and limit deformation when cornering on terrains that do not allow penetration, guaranteeing excellent handling and a great sense of safety both on dry and wet surfaces. The properties of the new SpeedGRIP Compound compound have been developed for all weather conditions, regardless of whether the soil is dry or wet. The new compound shares with the specific mountain bike compound - SmartGRIP Compound - the same polymer matrix that improves its smoothness. Cinturato Gravel Hard Terrain uses a reinforced internal structure combining a layer of protective fabric that goes from heel to heel to a tubeless-ready Aramid structure optimized for modern wide rims. In addition to a very high level of puncture protection, Cinturato Gravel offers new levels of smoothness and grip, giving life to a reliable and performing product, exactly what made Pirelli's Cinturato trademark famous.

The rubber for these tyres is quite thin and there is very little puncture resistance to small pieces of glass. I am running these as tubeless and have had a puncture in the first week. They roll very fast (and cannot be run at low pressure so are not really a useful gravel tyre for off-road). They look great but for the price, I would look elsewhere.

I got this tire in 47mm to spend more time on CO mtb trails with my friends who mountain bike. It’s fast and tough and will not flat. I recently road them in a race and was floored at how well they handled road and gravel with 43lbs in them. Stable on the fast gravel sections and I got up to 42mph on the road with minimal perceptible tread buzz. If I had to choose one tire for gravel and road, it would be this one in 40mm. Because I do so much rough single track with friends, I need the 47mm.

Excellent
25 December 2020

I ran WTB Nano 40s for a long time. That's a great tread, but the casing is too delicate. How do the Cinturato Gravel H 45s compare? On the road Pirelli's racing pedigree shows—these are the fastest-rolling gravel tires I've owned. They're fast on gravel, too, and corner with predictable and progressive grip. Given the low-profile tread they never feel like they're super dug in, or like they can brake really hard. However the 45 casing gives a lot of contact patch and stability to work with. A huge plus is how tough and long-lasting they've been. They're not as supple as the Nano, but ride comfortably for how well they've resisted pokes and cuts. This is an excellent performing and high-quality hard-surface mixed terrain tire. I will definitely buy again.

Fast rolling gravel tyres
14 November 2022

As on the tin - these are fast rolling gravel tyres perfect for hard packed gravel roads, tramac roads with potholes and wet road conditions. They seemed to roll faster than others on Schwalbe gravel tyres. Didnt get into any really muddly conditions so can't vouch for them in those conditions.Had to fight a bit to get them on but once on they stay up.Fast well managed delivery from Pushy - as normal

Great race tire
28 December 2021

This has been a consistently fast and reliable tire. It rolls very fast and has reasonable grip for the shorter, tightly spaced, center treads. It feels soft enough at lower pressures but still feels sturdy on the side walls. I was able to mount it to my reserve wheels without tire levers. Using Muc-Off tape and sealant I had zero issues inflating and holding seal. No compressor just my Topeak floor pump with built in canister. Attached photos are on Reserve 40/44 carbon wheels. Tire shown is on 25mm internal rim. For all out grip I would go with the Cinturato M but for a fast tire on tighter gravel this is your ticket!!

I have 15 years of experience in XC MTB, but have started dabbling in gravel. Supplies were short so I ended up with 35c from my local Trek shop. I'm 185lb and have ridden them at 38f/40r. Most of my road riding is for training purposes and these add so much more grip for seemingly little additional rolling resistance to my 32c tubeless Schwalbe g one road tires. I raced these cinturatos over a mix of tarmac to loose gravel and they we're surprisingly bombproof. They're fine through an occasional section of damp dirt, but I wouldn't ride them in any sort of slop. Not the best tyre from Pirelli
8 December 2022

Bought the tan wall tyres for a different look, but the quality of where the black meets the tan is pretty poor - it's not consistent. Seems to have over-run in some places & makes the tyre look wonky when it's moving.Would have expected better from Pirelli.

Minimal tread - hardpack and dry conditions only. Seat fine, not much hassle to set up TL, measure 41mm on 23mm internal rims.Good tyre; seem susceptible to punctures based on read but been ok so far.

I've wanted these tires for a while, but always settled for less expensive alternatives. having ,purchased a new wheelset, I decided to bite the bullet and I am immediately impressed with the build and appearance of the Pirellis. The gravel bike opened up a lot of new terrain options and these 45mm tires open up even more possibilities, while also rolling fast on the pavement.
