I was so excited when I got this set , it was going to be the answer to all my worries about working and being mobile. That however change shortly. The battery dies out so fast it defeats its purpose, it runs out like every 3 hours , you’ll be in a lot of trouble if you work in a call center. The battery life is not designed for working use period!

Bought this a a replacement for my worn out Plantronics of the same model. I was able to plug it in to my existing phone set up, charge it up & I was good to go-works perfectly. My job involves a high volume of calls, so a headset is essential. Glad I was able to find this one at an affordable price, since I'm required to provide my own. Sure helps to relieve my neck tension.

As a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder I often face a lot of discomfort from using wearable devices like wired headsets. This particular wireless headset is fantastic and recommended. If it was not for this type of headset doing my job would be far more difficult each day.

Fits my needs pretty well. It is a personal preference, however I do not like to wear the earpiece all of the time instead prefer to put it on and take it off. The ear clip is a little difficult for this application, the corded Plantronics that I had prior to this one had a better ear clip. Having said all of that, the freedom of no longer having a cord is awesome. Using with an older Norstar multi-line phone and continue to utilize the actual phone for making/answering calls, etc.; setup was very easy, simple to use, echo took a few volume adjustments to clear up. Enjoy the product, have been using it for approximately five weeks.
I bought the CS540 headset for work to use with my Lucent 6408D+ phone. The headset was easy to set up, and worked great at first. But after a month or so, it suddenly stopped working. I cannot hear a dial tone anymore. If I press any buttons on the headset, I can hear the beeping, but no dial tone when I attempt to make a call. I tried unplugging everything and starting over -- nothing. I tried unpairing and then pairing the headset and the base -- nothing. I tested the headset on another collegue's phone -- nothing. I tried using another cord -- nothing. I finally gave up and called Plantronics customer service. They asked me some questions, and had me try a couple of things, but again -- no luck. This headset needs the accessory phone lifter. It also requires that you have a phone with a handset. If you just plug this unit in you will have to lift the handset and set it aside (all the while hearing an echo as you speak). Well, I then bought the lifter separately and it’s just a mechanical device that lifts up the handset when you press the button on the Plantronic headset. You’ll still hear the echo of your voice. Anyway, I was using an AT&T headset that just plugged directly into the phone jack but it’s not working so tried this one. I’m going to try returning for something less cumbersome.
I have had the Plantronics CS540 for about two-weeks. Sound quality is good. Reception good throughout by 1,100 sq. feet of office space. I have walked outside with the headset, and I get good reception outside. According to those I talk to over the phone my voice projects well, as well. The headset works seamlessly. Setup was relatively easy although I had to go online to review instructions on how to do it for my NEC telephone system. But the instructions I found online regarding how to code the use of a headset into the phone was simple. I bought this new, but not in original box. I had no Plantronics instructions on set-up. Plantronics headset set-up was so intuitive I didn't need a Plantronics instructional manual. Highly recommend.
I love my Plantronics headset. My old Plantronics headset died after many, many years and I was completely lost while waiting for my new one. I tried to seek technical assistance when setting up the headset. I was very disappointed with the gentleman I spoke to. He constantly kept sniffing, which I found to be very offputting. I highly recommend my Plantronics headset but I cannot say the same about the technical assistance.

The first one was a full kit with the headset and base, after about 2 years of usage the mute/volume button on the back of the headset went bad. When trying to click the button to mute, it would repeatedly mute/unmute/mute multiple times from just a single click, then I began having issues with adjusting the volume. If I moved the switch up or down to change the volume sometimes it would make a loud screeching sounds and disconnect from the base. I would have to place the headset in the charging base and wait for it to connect and begin charging, then remove it from the base and turn it back on.
