Playstation 4 Slim 500GB Gold Console

I have been a PlayStation girlie my entire existence, from the 1 to the 4, with my eyes on the 5. But - this review is about the 4. Let’s rewind to 2017. I literally upgraded my PS3 to a PS4 for the new Dark Souls game that had came out, and let me tell you I was not disappointed in the quality difference. It was amazing. The only thing I didn’t like was having to have PSN to play online with friends then, but that’s not an issue now as it’s required for all online gaming. I’ve read reviews of people saying theirs has overheat or the fans going out and as a daily player for roughly 2-6 hours a night of online gameplay, mine is still going strong. She’s pretty stable. A few years ago, the PlayStation 4 Pro was a great upgrade from the PlayStation 3. It loaded games so much faster, which is always a plus! The picture clarity is amazing, everything is so vibrant, especially paired with a 4k tv. We cancelled our cable a few years ago, we stream all of our tv through our PlayStations, so we have multiple in our house. We still have our PlayStation 3 and all of the games that go with it, it’s a shame the PS4 doesn’t have backwards compatibility. I may set up the PS3 in our 4th graders room this summer to get some use out of it still. We are definitely a PlayStation family. We’ve since upgraded two rooms to PS5’s, but there are still PS4’s still being used. They are still a great choice for someone looking to buy a console.

I have always been a fan of Playstation. When I had a Playstation 4 I had a great time playing games. The only thing I found troublesome was the amount of space it had. It only had about 500MB of space, which is not a lot when you have games that take a lot of space. I also did not like that they took the backwards compatibility that they had added to the PS3. It was nice to have been able to play PS1 2 games. Overall it was nice design, the controllers always felt perfect to me, the resolution at the time was great, the gameplay was smooth, and it was affordable as well.

I’m really not much of a gamer these days. But when I heard of the game “Stray” I counted down the days until it’s release. There’s no option to review the game alone, so I’m just going to do it here. It’s a game where you play as a cat who gets separated from his pack by falling into an underground dystopian robotic world. The the cat embarks on an adventure making friends with the robots who help the cat get back to his home on the outside and the cat in return helps them. I don’t want to give too much away. But this game from the scoring to the visuals is absolutely stunning. I finished the game last summer but I still think about it and will most definitely play it again and again and again. It’s such a great game.

This is an okay console for gaming and exclusives but if you want a more stable experience the Xbox one x is more consistent when it comes to even basic things such as being able to connect to the internet. This is my second PlayStation and it literally will not connect to my WiFi no matter how much I trouble shoot, change my DNS settings, attempt to set it up with WPS. This console is a serious frustration and let down when it comes to just connecting to the internet. Unless you can hardline your PlayStation I probably wouldn’t recommend this console for online gaming, it’s quite terrible about randomly disconnecting even in those rare instances it works as it’s supposed to. If I could go back I’d save my money. PlayStation is more and more subpar as the generations progress. As an adult now, I recently found myself with some free time and decided to look into gaming. I watched a bunch of YouTube vides and honestly had mixed feelings. The graphics looked amazing but I wasn't feeling the games from the videos. I realized I actually needed to play the games to see if I like them. I researched a bunch of options including Google Stadia, a desktop PC, and XBox and settled on a Playstation 4 Pro since it works well with my 4K TV, has good reviews, is easy to set up, and has a huge user base. PS4 Works Great!

I got my station quickly and had no issues with the seller. The PS4 works great and didnt seem to have any issues. The only negative thing I had to say about this purchase was one of the controllers. The black controller has been working great but the white controllers buttons didnt seem to work. Ive tried using the controller and charging it to see if that will help, but it hasnt shown any signs that the buttons work. This was a little bit of a disappointment but seeing that I can do just fine with one controller, Im not upset. Overall Im happy with this purchase!
