Playstation PS5 Street Fighter 6 Clear PAL

To be honest, the last time I played a street fighter game, I had to use quarters and Ronald Reagan was in office. There's no way I'll ever be as good as people who seem to live and breathe street fighter (and have done for the past 20 years), but considering soul calibur is pretty much dead atm, it's cool to play a fighting game with an active and thriving community.Besides the new avatar mode, street fighter 6s other MSP is the introduction of modern and dynamic controls. These new allow new or returning players to execute complex combos with fewer button inputs than using the classic control scheme. This comes with both advantages and disadvantages. I've chosen to try and learn classic controls because it feels a bit more intuitive but it's definitely more challenging.So, to conclude. I'm glad I gave this game a shot and I hope to get as much enjoyment out of it as I did Soul Calibur and DoA.

A step forwards but backwards.

It's better than SF4, or 5. That much is clear, it's still rubbish though.The characters are ridiculous. Homeless Ken is such a let down of a design. Steroid Ryu.Steroid everyone really. Chun Li looks good but most others look stupid.The sound team want sacking. The music is just as terrible and dated as 3rd Strike was.It feels sluggish. It responds well but the animation just makes it feel slow. The specials animations and the counter animations go slow mo and make it drag. The kick back from throw blocks are actually quite snappy, I wish they made the rest like this.I don't like the new systems. It just isn't as fun as SF2's, Alpha's, or 3rd Strike.Strangely I enjoyed watching it in the Evo championships, more than I enjoy playing it.Lacking roster ... MoreIt's better than SF4, or 5. It was a disappointment to me.That said, I traded it and got WWE 2K22 which is surprisingly good fun especially as I don't know 3/4 of the characters and what a great soundtrack too, so I got a fun game in the end.Would I recommend it. Possibly, it just wasn't for me. Didn't come close to Blazeblue, DoA, GG, MK, etc too many more fun fighting games already out, many people love it though.

EXCELLENT GAME!

This game maintains the same control functions the original Street Fighter I used to play at the arcade as a child and it is absolutely fantastic. Any 80's kid will appreciate the original characters and original sound effects. Street Fighter has always been a great game, and now there are online matches available if you want to play with others around the world.Please note: this game is marketed as a console specific product as the "PS5" prefix within the game title is the minimally required hardware or designated operating system needed to play this game. 3.5/5£36 got me game and over 50 fighters on KoF 15.£72 gets you game and 22 characters on SF6.Less than half the stuff for double the money.Characters are awful. Who shall I play as? Ken, classic character. Wait, Ken's homeless now? Come on, who thought these designs were good?Music is absolutely awful and sounds dated. Well enough made, quality wise is fine, just the content is bad.Gameplay is a mixed bag. I don't like the always parry. It takes away the need to learn parry timing.The drive counters go in to a slow mo animation. It's a fighting game, don't slow it for no reason. If anything add a turbo mode.I would prefer the quickest throw to win the throw, rather than pushbacks.It feels a little bit slow. Although the new systems aren't for me, they really add a new level of gameplay and make for some great pro level competition. New additions like Luke are great, old faces feel refreshed. Cammy is real fun to play in this one. Chun Li and Ryu both still fun to play after all these years.They literally throw unlockable artwork at you and it is great.They really went to town on game modes and variety.It's a great game and in my rotation but it isn't my first choice. In fact I think since I bought this I have still played Garou more. I bought MK 11 around the same time and although in the past I always preferred Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat, I'm enjoying MK11 way more. Same goes for injustice 2, KoF 15, BB Centralfiction, Guilty Gear, Killer Instinct. These games feel so much more polished.SF6 had a golden opportunity but it just feels so dated due to AV design choices.If you like fighting games this is essential but a real missed opportunity. It could have been the greatest fighter ever but with its shortcomings, it is just a very good game, not an unmissable classic.Play Station D Pad sucks for fighters too, so unless you have a joystick, if you can play this on something with an XBox pad, I would say that would be a preferable option.Any fighting fans should definitely not pass on this though. While it hasn't really ticked the boxes for me with the mechanics, I can't deny for many, this will be a masterpiece.I just wish they'd cut the cheesy, dated American styling and bring back some speed. It just all feels a bit too OTT Yankeefied.

This is one of the top TOP fighting games in recent years. The colorful characters of SF are back along with some new ones! The three separate modes are going to have me playing this game for a long time. Battle hub is a new spin to online play with friends and strangers bringing your own avatar into a public arcade still hub. with cabinet matches and just vibing with people you meet up with, it's by far my favorite mode. World tour is an addictive decent almost beat-em-up story for your avatar and tons of fun. then there is the arcade/training mode and thats your bread and butter typical fighting game section for local and arcade style story with the classic characters. I have played a lot of fighting games. The hardest part about playing fighting games is the better you get, the less anyone who doesn't own the game wants to play with you. SF6 fixes this problem by adding 3 different control schemes and a handicap option.This game also offers new unique competitive options for more seasoned vets of the game. I'm a big third strike fan and loved parrying. I'm happy to see that come back as well as the addition of drive rush. Every character feels balanced save for 2 that only need slight changes to come up to the level of the rest of the cast. Overall online has not been an issue when avoiding the HUB, and setting matchmaking to only allow 3-5 connection strength.I won't talk about the hub too much as I have yet to spend a lot of time there. Everytime I have entered it so far I have been kicked out for bad conncetion. Unsure if this is capcom or my internet. Overall it seems like a neat idea, and there are cabinets to try of old arcade games. While Nintendo would sell you these games individually as a collection, and capcom has done the same in the past, it is nice to see them bundled on the game.The single player story mode feels like a proof of concept more than a complete product. It runs fine on Xbox as well as PS5 and PS4. Training under the different masters and going through the story is fun, but there feels like a lack of meaningful content after 10 hours of doing the gameplay loop. Can't take too many points off as story modes in fighting games have not tried anything beyond a movie that you fight battles around in the past, so even this unique proof of concept is preferable to another Mortal Kombat single player experience.Performance wise the game plays great with no problems on all platforms. On ps4 the load screens are longer and more noticeable, but while in a fight it gets the job done. I'd say ps5 is your best choice if you only want one copy, or do what I did and get the digital version on psn that gives you both. I also bought the Colectors edition for the Xbox and I cannot reiterate enough how great it runs and how good it looks.Great entry into a legendary series. I can't give it a 10 because of the fact that there isn't a 10 rating scale. If you were looking for a cheap hobby, fighting games aren't that. If you were looking for a good story mode, I can't think of a fighting game that rises to the level of good story. But SF6 has a balanced cast, great netcode, interesting gameplay mechanics, and a character for every fighting game fan to enjoy.If asked which console would I recommend this on? Xbox or Playstation? I would honestly say it depends on you. What do I mean by that? Which controller are you most comfortable with? Fighting games in general require you to be comfortable using the controller. Hence the reason why they have made so many different styles of controllers and arcade sticks for consoles. If you ask graphically, I can say both PS5 and Xbox are in the same realm when it comes to graphics of this game to the naked eye. I couldn't see any differences when it came to the graphics or frame rate. All I can say is that as I played Ryu on the Xbox version and then played it on the PS5 version, I was more accurate with the combos on the Xbox than the PS5. Like I said its preference more than a recommendation.I hope my review helps you in explaining the game, features and playability. The game is better than alot of recent street fighter iterations. I take a star off because the online mstches can be relentless if you're a casual gamer. Also the roster is tiny. Not a fan of micro transactions. The art style is bombastic and alive which is what makes the game pop. It has a creation suite which is nice. If i had to compare id say its not as good as tekken 7. That game had more depth fir arcade mode play and story mode. As for recent games in the same genre. I did also buy aew fight forever. That has been in my disc drive since i bought it. The highest praise i can give street fighter is that its in depth and a bit family friendly aew im worried my nephew will see in game blood. No doubt DLC will arrive, all games get DLC. But This street fighter is a robust complete game unlike the fiasco that was SF5. This game is like getting 3 games in 1. World mode, a Hub were you can play the original SF classics ( you can also find the classic arcades in world mode like yakuza) and an actual regular battle mode with a decent roster of 18. You create an avatar in world mode and can duke it out at the hub with other players avatars. The customization for them is great, you find gear all over the world FOR FREE as it should be, not dlc. You can create characters that can look like anything you want, ive seen lots of haggars, he's easy to create. Great graphics, it resembles SF4 more than 5. Lots of Pastels colors when you combo. I really enjoyed checking out street fighter 6 because it's been years since i last played an entry in the series. The availability of it on Xbox means i can learn to play with friends.The games opening moments have a great on board tutorial showing the basics and the new stuff introduced in this game. The graphics are eye popping and the style they went for in this one really has colors everywhere. I enjoy the return of classic staple characters like ryu, ken, and chun-li but like the new additions as well.
