Industrial plumbing pipe three level wall shelf kit is an industrial looking shelf made from iron plumbing pipe . This wall shelf is made from 1/2" BSTP threaded 21mm outside diameter plumbing pipe components finished in standard galvanised or black steel finish plumbing pipe . This shelf is designed to withstand a reasonable weight of around 10 kilos in total. Be careful to attach to as many screw points of attachment as possible into timber studs. The shelf is designed for many uses, from putting up all your favorite alcoholic spirits, to integrating plant features. Components included As a DIY kit this product includes this number of parts per upright. 2 X 300mm threaded upright pipe lengths in Galvanised or Black steel 3 X 200mm threaded horizontal pipe lengths in Galvanised or Black steel 3 X Plumbing pipe Tees in Galvanised or Black steel 3 X Wall flanges in Galvanised or Black steel 2 X Pipe fitting plugs in Galvanised or Black steel 6 Galvanised saddles (to hold down shelf) The Shelf Timber and glass component is not included in this product. We can supply some shelf components (see below) The standard distance between each level of the shelf (B) is 335mm and the overall distance from the wall is 224mm. The standard timber shelf component width (A) is 175mm. The total length of the shelf is determined when installing uprights but the distance between up-rights should not exceed 1000mm in case the timber bows under load. To make a shelf unit wider than this it may be best to order as 3 uprights. Metal clamp brackets are supplied with our timber shelf components. These screw to the underside of the timber shelf to stop sideways motion. This shelf can be assembled built by hand without the need to use a tool. Screws are provided for timber, plaster and brick wall surface. The surface it is being attached to and the screws that are being used, will determine the weight load of the shelf itself. On a plasterboard it will withstand around 7 kilograms and for wood and masonry, it will hold to about 15 kilograms (not including the weight of the timber shelf). Custom dimensions This shelf can be made to custom dimensions for the shelf with and also the space between shelves. Materials DIY kit components come covered with a light oil protection and will need to be washed prior to assembly. This is to remove traces of oil inside the pipe also. We use a standard Prep wash type solvent but virtually anything that dissolves oil and grease will work. Assembly of components can be achieved with minimal tools but pipe threads should be tight so as not to come loose. When ordering as black steel pipe product, components should be cleaned, and to protect from rusting a light coat of Linseed oil diluted with mineral turpentine can be applied.
