The fit is snug, and the front liner is not comfortable out of the box, as the edge is sharp due to the welded construction of the material. I'm at the limit of the chin strap as well. There aren't a lot of options if you need XXL. Wish I could get it in florescent green just like the one it is replacing. Will look for a replacement front liner, as they need to be washed, and this is all one piece. Should come with two, one to use while the other is drying. I need be in it 5+ days a week. The quality of the construction seems very good, and I wouldn't ski without one.

Product would be ok if it fit - size totally wrong on this and 4 other POC items purchased. I used the size guides on the website to measure up. I requested POC pay for the return postage of $67 as the sizing was so different to the guides but they refused twice. Most brands would in the circumstance cover that. I won’t be purchasing from them again - cant trust the sizes. and I don't trust they will support their customer.

Now, maybe I landed a defective unit, but that coating peels if you look at too long. Ended up taking about 30mins to peel it all off. Now my helmet is shiny. All in all, bad experience, unlikely to buy matte coating again or anything made by POC.

I love my new helmet.I had another POC Helmet before that was a bit too large for my head, but the Fornix Mips is true to size and fits my head perfectly.I love the white colour, since it goes with anything and I would say the quality and the safety of the helmet are excellent.Would definitely recommend this helmet!
I found the POC Fornix POW JJ helmet to be a little small. It is very snug on my head for a M/L size. I have not had a chance to ski with the helmet yet. I have only tried it on at home. It seems comfortable enough, despite the snug fit. The colour is a nice darker shade of green. My least favourite part is the clip on the back that is meant to hold your goggle strap. It is a bit finicky to get set in place. My old Smith Vantage helmet had a strap & button which was very easy to use. My Smith goggles do not fit perfectly with the POC helmet, so i may need to go shopping for some new POC goggles. If i didn't buy this helmet on sale, i would likely have returned it.
I work as a ski patroller. Responded to a guy wearing this helmet. He had dropped a cliff into a steep couloir and missed a must make turn in the runout hitting a tree head on. Front of helmet was smashed in on the front goggles were broken, big abrasion on his face. The helmet had a lot of thickness in the front absorbing a lot of the impact. His head was totally fine. I was really impressed with this helmet especially being able to protect a frontal impact so well without a full face helmet.
I have an old POC size M helmet. I bought a new POC size M helmet. Somehow it’s no where near the same size. That’s fine I’ll just send it back.Turns out for a return you have to mail it yourself. Also fine except the cheapest shipping option for USPS is a quarter the price of the helmet.If you by from POC direct know that helmet is making a one way trip. Easier to buy through Backcountry or a store with a real return option.
Very well designed product I bought the dark green colored one not my favorite color but it was the last size M-L on 50% sale in the outlet section of the website shop. I wouldn't have bought it if it had been full prize: it's an average ski helmet a part for mips system that make me feel a little bit safer. The helmet looks and feels stunning. The only really disturbing thing is the matt finish on the shell and the rest of the plastic details. It is like make from wax. Very easy scratchable. It fell off even if you rub it with a fingernail. This ruins the overall feeling for quality. I cannot guess if this is normal or a quality issue.
Stylish helmet. Looks good functions well. My head is exactly between sizes and I ended up with a helmet too large. Wish I got the smaller one. Can be drafty. Ear flaps have big voids over the ears making ears colder. Some vents cannot be closed making it colder. A too large helmet is always drafty and colder. Ratchet tightens nicely making it feel comfy and secure.Would buy it again but wish it was a bit tighter.
