I wish the game was better....by all means it's not a BAD game.now this is a re-make of previous games of the same title but if you want to enjoy a great sinnoh game then play platinum.BDSP isa little too faithful in some areas while not in others and makes it a really weird average pile of both and it just is a in the middle game.Compared to it's predecessor platnium and all it offered, this is definitely a step back with the removal of alot of fun things but a few tiny steps forward by making some things easier on the players.

Another great Pokémon game arrives for the switch. This is a updated and beautiful remake or the Diamond/Pearl games that were released on the Nintendo DS. The Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearls is a welcome update as it is spectacular. The updated graphics and game physics change this game significantly enough while the overall story and feel of the game was Nostalgic. Remember this is a Pokémon game so repetitive is common place. These games for the most part follow the same formula since the beginning, Explore the region, encounter Pokémon, raise and fight them, and catch them all. I have played every core game and they can feel like all your doing is grinding for levels but for the Hardcore fans, it’s a great game.

Bought the game as I hadn't finished the original back in the day for DS.Was surprised by how beautiful the game is, possibly prettier than Sword and Shield, and more stable.Although it has fewer Pokemon compared to latest games, since this is a remake of an older game with smaller pokedex, they are varied enough.I love the beautiful artstyle. Chibi like character models add to the nostalgic feeling, and it is awesome to walk around the open world with one of you pokemon following you. Animations are better than ever, with characters having more facial expressions, reflective surfaces everywhere, and gorgeous landscapes with cloud shadows, accompanied with lovely catchy soundtracks.End game (no spoilers) is amazing, adding competitive level challenge for ... MoreBought the game as I hadn't finished the original back in the day for DS.Was surprised by how beautiful the game is, possibly prettier than Sword and Shield, and more stable.Although it has fewer Pokemon compared to latest games, since this is a remake of an older game with smaller pokedex, they are varied enough.I love the beautiful artstyle. Now you can explore caves, customize bases, and dig together.ILCA definitely handled this remaster well. Bringing a classic back to life, and pumping up the hype for new games. If you are even remotely interested in Pokemon, this game is a must.

Great Game

Awesome remake. Simple and to the point. Fun underground component and fun overall.Silent Weapons for Quiet Wars was found in 1986 by a Boeing employee on accident. It was inside an IBM copy machine, which the employee bought in bulk for spare parts. It details what can only be described as a formal declaration of war against the American general public by its very own government. It was for a while considered to be a hoax, but it is now vindicated through other military documents such as "The Mind has No Firewall" and the UN's recently leaked "Cognitive Warfare" document.

Great remakes of two fantastic DS games.

This was such a delight to hear about and PLAY! i am having so much fun with Pokemon Shining Pearl. I originally played the Pearl version for the DS way back in the past it's nice to see what's changed and of course, I'm loving every minute of it. GAME FREAK always outdoes itself. Thank you seller for letting me add these two grand games to my Switch collection! Not only am I a collector I'm also a gamer and I love some Pokemon!

Punched by Nostalgia

I remember pre-ordering the original Diamond back in 2006... Playing this remastered version has unlocked a lot of those memories for me again. This generation will always be my favourite and very close to my heart. That being said, there are a few issues I have with the remakes. The first is that the leveling system is a bit broken– these remakes implement the 'full-party leveling' from the newest generation of games, but the game itself wasn't modified to handle such a system. As a result, battling NPCs is hardly a challenge as I'm consistently at a much higher level than they are. Everything else has been fine, so far. I really enjoy the remastered music... it almost brings a tear to my eye.

Review of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl Double Pack

Buggiest Pokémon game in the history of the series, which is a very embarrassing feat to achieve.First of all, I am convinced that these games were hurriedly phoned in after Game Freak started development on Legends Arceus - which I think was the only Sinnoh remake planned to come out at first - because it would be poorly received news that "real Sinnoh remakes" wouldn't be happening. I personally think that after seeing what Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have to offer, they should not have bothered. The faithful approach was absolutely the wrong choice, as they are recreating an unfinished game, and even then, failing in parts, for example the final room in Hearthome Gym has been poorly botched together with the windows separated by inconsistent gaps, and ... MoreBuggiest Pokémon game in the history of the series, which is a very embarrassing feat to achieve.First of all, I am convinced that these games were hurriedly phoned in after Game Freak started development on Legends Arceus - which I think was the only Sinnoh remake planned to come out at first - because it would be poorly received news that "real Sinnoh remakes" wouldn't be happening. I personally think that after seeing what Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have to offer, they should not have bothered. The faithful approach was absolutely the wrong choice, as they are recreating an unfinished game, and even then, failing in parts, for example the final room in Hearthome Gym has been poorly botched together with the windows separated by inconsistent gaps, and the sheer decimation of the function of Secret Bases in the Grand Underground is devastating - I believed that the possibility to fill your Secret Base with your personality and style was in fact the core, and most enjoyable experience of the Underground in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl this is reduced to a collection of lifeless statues in an empty cave. This faithful approach also makes it so that none of the music makes any effort to stand out, as it's all just supposed to sound the same as the original, rushed game. This also goes for the lacking content that was fixed in Pokémon Platinum Version such as diversity of environment, usability of most Pokémon that the Sinnoh region itself introduced, and utterly disappointing areas such as the Galactic Eterna Building. However, SFX design is something that has been done well this time as I am a fan of the new battle sound effects for such things as attacks and status afflictions, they sound very fresh and clean.Graphically speaking, ILCA mostly seems not to fail in the direction they chose to take - I simply disagree with that direction. Chibi style overworld characters are fine, but I think outlines and hard, cel-style shading with more use of 2D and pixel art have been sorely missed in Pokémon games lately, and personally this is a style I would rather see Pokémon presented in. The presentation of the graphics in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl make it a very cute and endearing game, however I think Sinnoh was the wrong Pokémon region to make this approach with.I think Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl do one thing better than previous Pokémon games, and that is the rate at which the level of difficulty increases, and the balance of the now mandatory shared experience that your party gains. I have been using a rotation of around 15 Pokémon and have only used up to 4 at a time, and am also playing using Set mode for the first time, but I think the game is built so that the increasing difficulty as you progress is fair but stern, just as I think it should be.Overall, this was not a game we needed or wanted, but has been an enjoyable pastime that is fun and endearing for the most part regardless. It mostly achieves what is albeit a short-sighted and unambitious vision of a faithful remake, which I believe most Pokémon fans did not want, given the precedence of the great improvements and expansions brought by previous remakes in the series.

Very safe remake, no leaps taken
22 December 2021

This is pretty much Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, but in HD. They reverted back to annoying things such as TMs have limited use now, and Battle tower you cannot team up with a friend locally. Online multiplayer is a joke, same old battle/trade. There is grand underground if you want to run around a maze with friends and the mini game for contests. Not my cup of tea, but those features are there. If you have never played this generation, these remakes are worth a try. If not, you won’t find a whole lot new here.Bring back the co op mode! Online too!
