This is an example of a perfect product for its intended use. Comfortable and good quality material. The sensor is independent of the elastic band, so it can easily be exchanged for another one when it gets worn out (I'm looking at you Garmin). The band pairs without stress to the first one, I don't even need to mute, has Bluetooth Smart and Ant + connection and even gymlink for those who use gym machines. Works flawlessly with HRV reading applications (eg Elite HRV, HRV4training, etc.). The APP that accompanies the band (optional installation) is intuitive, has a polished appearance and interesting options even for those who just exercise. Highly recommended.

I thought Polar was a good brand so this would be a no-brainer for a reliable heart rate monitor. First problem straight away was getting the Polar Flow app to connect to the device. Sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't and when it didn't, I had to spend a lot of time fiddling with my phone and the device to get it to work. Finally after a couple of weeks (maybe five workouts at the gym) Polar Flow failed to connect to the device one final time and never recovered. Really disappointed with this product. Returning it.

This is good. I test it with my smart trainer. Took less than 5 seconds to pair with my Elite Trainer. The rubber belt is soft and comfort. No scratch feels. I also took the sensor to use with my old Bryton chest belt. No issue at all. Actually I look at the H10 with green belt but since this was my first Polar so I try the cheaper model. Now I just need to see how long it will last. The shipment was fast considering I am not in Europe and no issue at all.

I was very disappointed with this company and how they hadle customer service. The new step five was shipped without a protective container and had three large scratches on the frame when I complained about that they said well that’s too bad and sent me a small pint of paint that I have to go and apply myself to a very expensive product with a very sad unsatisfactory result.They also forgot to ship the rubber pad that I ordered and 10 days or two weeks later I had to call after they recognize they had not shipped it and I still have not got it but it apparently it’s on its way. So when you buy an expensive product in the $5000 range with all the accessories You expect better service than that.I would not deal with this company again
So far it is working fine. It was easy to setup and get going. I am currently using the Polar Beat App on an Android phone. It works great and the verbal feedback lets me know my level of training without looking at the app. I've heard complaints about short battery life, but since I've only had it for a two weeks, I'll have to wait and see how durable the battery life is. I wish the app would link to my Wahoo cadence monitor, but it doesn't. So I need to keep two apps open when I go on bike rides.
The strap itself is easy to use but the software took hours to figure out. I used the software in an elementary way but still not able to use the full extent of the software. It is not intuitive. I almost sent the item back due to frustration over the software.
The generic HRM strap for my Polar H9 heart monitor won't sync with the Polar app on my phone. It works with my Jacobs Ladder machine but won't work with the Polar app even after I repeatedly wet the silicone strip on the strap. This is my second HRM strap for my Polar H9 heart monitor and neither one worked with the Polar app. Wetting the silicone strip on the generic HRM strap should sync the H9 sensor with the Polar app but it doesn't. I won't exchange it for another generic strap since it's not worth the time/hassle for me to do so and since it at least works with the heart rate display on my Jacobs Ladder.I only wished it was compatible with the Polar app which allows users to keep a diary of their training sessions. My previous Polar strap and heart monitor had a clasp that snapped together and rarely disconnected. This H9 does not have a reliable clasp mechanism. Plus, when trying to wet the band before running, the water beads up and off, reducing the ability of the Garmin watch to detect heartbeat. The previous model was much better.
I was unable to use the Polar H9 monitor due to lack of instructions. I was never able to get my Google cell phone to connect with it. The enclosed instructions are microscopic and useless. Although there are numerous youtube videos none gave basic instructions for making a connection to my cell phone.
