I am absolutely amazed at how tough this braid is. I use it for freshwater catfishing. It held up for 3 summers of constant fishing seasons. If there was such thing as an abrasion resistant braid. This would be it. It cast a mile and cuts through heavy vegetation. I haven't had it tangle or twist. Very hard to beat the original Power Pro braid. When you have a braid that last this long and keeps performing. That equal value and it pays for itself. Been using this braid as my go to for a decade now. It hasn't let me down yet. This is my honest story.

This line just reinforced the fact that i don't like braided fishing line. I bought this after reading tons of positive reviews for it. The brand came up as one of the best. I spooled it on a brand new (never used) Lews Custom XP baitcaster reel on an Abu Garcia Silver Max rod. Well after just 10 minutes the line started to fray. The outer jacket of the line collapsed down like a stretched out tube sock. It also didn't cast any further than the mono line i usually use. Complete waste of money. I'll be respooling with mono.

I wanted to like this line so much, but it sucks for baitcasters. I lost my brand new WP 75 last night because the line snapped mid cast. This is the third snap I’ve had in the last year. It also birdsnests very easily, randomly. I’ll have my settings dialed in perfectly and make 20+ flawless casts, then it’ll birdsnest on the next cast. This braid also frays very quickly. Not a fan. 40 lb braid on a Lew’s Mach Crush with mono backing.

Been using the white for years! The color is easy for me to see and detect bites. This is my main line for float fishing for salmon, topwater for bass and even drop shot/wacky rig fishing with a fluorocarbon leader. Best thing about the power pro spectra is the diameter! Done have worry about running out of line when I spool up.
PowerPro braid in either 15lb or 20lb is what I have used for years on most of my freshwater as well as lighter duty saltwater gear. I find that it behaves better than stiffer braided lines during early use, ages well, and maintains strength and easy casting for a full season or more. Looking to try out 30-40lb PowerPro braid on some of my heavier saltwater setups as we approach the fall Striper season.
Im an avid fisherman who has fished with plenty of braided lines. I wanted to start using it for freshwater bass fishing, and I should’ve bought this line sooner. It’s so good I have 10lb PP green moss line on two reels. It has great casting ability, superior knot strength, and it’s a dream to tie it directly to a mono or flouro leader. I have fought good size fish with this line, and have had 100% confidence in it. On instances, this line has pulled fish through weeds and tough structure, and hasn’t given up. In some Instances, this line could even compare to the more expensive PP super slick.
So I have been switching some fishing lines over from momo to braid. I have tried afew brands but I got hooked on Power Pro Spectra for couple of reasons;1 It cast farther than anything else.2 It comes in a few colors red blue and green3 Its mends nicely when float fishing4 The brighter colors are more visable while the green is least visible.5 The price is reasonable.Totallly satisfied with this product.
I purchased the PowerPro 10lb. braid in vermillion red after having used the same braid in moss green all summer long in 2016 - it's the thinnest and one of the most round lines in the market. Casting is smooth and with the right lure weight you can cast a mile even against strong winds.I spooled 150-yards on my Daiwa Ballistic EX 2000 and it's the perfect match. I do most of my inshore fishing in Port Isabel and Port Mansfield so having the right setup is crucial considering the targeted fish species - I mainly aim for speckled trout, flounder and red drum - also the summertime high-heat calls for the proper lightweight setup and my PowerPro absolutely delivers in that area.I definitely recommend this great braid, PowerPro is high-quality line at a very ... MoreI purchased the PowerPro 10lb. braid in vermillion red after having used the same braid in moss green all summer long in 2016 - it's the thinnest and one of the most round lines in the market. Lol!Hope this review helps out, but of course the best way to find out is by trying it yourself - make it happen and tight lines folks!
Strong line. I fished in heavy cover and rocks for bass. I kept checking my line during my 7 day fishing trip to Canada and only had to cut and retie about 14 inches of line twice. Cast-ability was very good also. After trying other braids in the past, I definitely recommend this one. You will not be disappointed. Fish on !!
bought the 8lb spool on sale about a month back to spool up an ultralight trout rig. noticed that the plastic spool had a notch cut into it so instead of having a continuous round shape, there is a cutout at one spot. guess where the line caught on every rotation while spooling up my reel? once, twice, every time. got fed up and built a crude jig to hold the spool so it didn't roll away every time the line got stuck on the notch. that didn't work as planned so i took a file to the edges of the notch and smoothed it off which helped a bunch.at this point the spool had rolled every which way across the floor so the line was twisted to all heck. couldn't tell how bad until this past weekend when i got two wind knots on my first outing. cut them out and tried to ... Morebought the 8lb spool on sale about a month back to spool up an ultralight trout rig. noticed that the plastic spool had a notch cut into it so instead of having a continuous round shape, there is a cutout at one spot. guess where the line caught on every rotation while spooling up my reel? once, twice, every time. got fed up and built a crude jig to hold the spool so it didn't roll away every time the line got stuck on the notch. that didn't work as planned so i took a file to the edges of the notch and smoothed it off which helped a bunch.at this point the spool had rolled every which way across the floor so the line was twisted to all heck. couldn't tell how bad until this past weekend when i got two wind knots on my first outing. cut them out and tried to straighten the top part of the line, but still ended up with more wind knots. gonna cut those out too until i'm out of line.of the dozen or so spools of PowerPro i've used, i don't recall ever having issues with this cutout in the spool. everything wound up smooth. but, ive never used anything lower than 10# so maybe this is how the lighter weights are made? not sure. whatever the case, it's a horrible design and a real shame because the line is probably fine; getting it from the spool to the reel is the challenge.i'm not gonna threaten to stop using PP, but i'll check the spools from now on and will pass if this is how all the spools are made. i just don't know why it was changed?
