While the Nintendo Switch does already come with a handle to attach 2 Joy-Cons for games requiring 2 remotes per player, I found that I needed another one to be able to play with others in my household. I bought this Power A Joy-Con Comfort Grip at Best Buy on sale. It fits the remotes just as nicely as the branded one and it makes gameplay a lot easier. That being said, I do personally prefer the Nintendo one because the handles are completely smooth (as opposed to textured). But my friends prefer the textured grip of this handle, so it’s really just about whatever you like better. This grip was an affordable price and I would recommend it!

The PowerA Joy-Con grip is very similar to the one bundled with the Nintendo Switch with one key exception: it has a much better grip. It does this in two ways. The first is a sticker grip whereas the bundled one is all smooth plastic. The second is more curvature on the handles, making it more pleasant to hold. Weight and dimensions are otherwise practically identical. If you're looking for a joy-con grip, I would recommend this one for slightly more comfort than you could get otherwise.

I don't normally write reviews; however, this is a product I recommend staying away from. The controllers slide in easy and they come flying out just as easy. Press up on the joystick and the controller with come halfway out. Have a kid that like to jump while play, they fly across the room. The original grip that came from Nintendo has absolutely no issues. Buy that one, not this one.

We have 3 avid gamers in our household (including myself) so spend a lot of time on the Switch. We all are really happy with our new Joy-Con grip and it's very comfortable to hold. In comparison to the original which came with our switch, the handles are a tiny bit wider and a little more ergonomic which helps immensely with hand cramping. It's not a huge size difference and doesn't impede my younger daughter at all but just enough to notice the positive difference and comfort level. Electronic wise, it's worked perfectly, and we are happy with it!
I rarely write a review [read that as, never] but feel the need to share. I've bought this grip a second time after thinking the first was a fluke, but have had the same experience with both. The joycons will not lock in place and slide out when pushing up on controller (and I'm talking a slight push, not hulk-like force). I ended up putting tape on the back to hold the joycons in place... with added gorilla tape, 4 stars.I'm comparing this to the stock Switch grip, which works amazingly. The grips lock in place and only slide out when needed. I only wish I could find those grips available somewhere right now.The grip itself feels good and I'd recommend it for casual games (ie: not smash bros, but animal crossings is fine). Every time I push up on a controller, it slides out of the grip... Unless my handy gorilla tape has it locked down.Overall, I'd only recommend it for games that don't rely on slightly more aggressive pushes on the joucons.
This is a well-made product, but honestly speaking, I don't see much of a difference compared to the original accessory in terms of comfort. Yes, the rubber finishing feels nicer to the touch, but it doesn't make that much of a difference at the end of the day. I think the main issue with this (and with the original accessory as well) is the small size, but there is not much way around it. For the best experience, a dedicated, full-size controller (wired or wireless controller) is the best way to go. Finally, it is good to point out that this PowerA accessory has a slightly different design than the original one, with a type of "rest area"/grip for your index fingers. It does not make that much of a difference to me, though.
I bought this to go with the extra Joycon set I bought so my family could play 4 player with our Switch. My wife and I play after the kids are down with 2 grips.Cons...I have a few complaints. I disagree with the packaging and misleading advertising on the box. This IS NOT a Nintendo grip. It is a reproduction. Licensed by.Nintendo, but not Nintendo. So it doesn’t have the switch logo. I can live with that.Next, ergonomics. The back of the grip is not the same as the official Nintendo grip. The grips on the side aren’t contoured the same and have a “dead space” with a sudden abrupt ledge just below the upper left and right buttons. This space is quite annoying to me. Your fingers seem to sit here rather than up on/by the upper buttons where they ... MoreI bought this to go with the extra Joycon set I bought so my family could play 4 player with our Switch. Your fingers seem to sit here rather than up on/by the upper buttons where they belong.Third, height. The angle of this joycon is not the same as the official. It seems to sit higher up in the middle. I haven’t got out a micrometer to check, but you can feel and see it if it’s on a flat surface.4th- slides. The joycons don’t slide in as silkily as the true Nintendo version.Pros:Price. Friendly enough.Usability. It works, but I always make sure my wife has it in her hands!
I love using this with my swich controllers. The comfort grip allows you to maintain better control of the controller. I never knew I needed that additional grip until I got this controller. It is the same size as the original one that comes with the Switch, however it has a different material on the back of the handles that helps you grip it better. I am very pleased with this and would recommend.
