Out of all of Purina brand cat foods, my cat prefers the Purina Pro Plan line. Other Purina lines he has tried are the Purina One, Purina Fancy Feast, and the Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein Kitten Pate. My cat prefers dry food over wet food but if he had to choose, this would be it. The only issue is how expensive this brand is.

I wasn't sure my cat would like this because he's very finicky but he loves it. He has small kidney stones and urinary issues and is 17 years old. He didn't like the Science Diet prescription cat food and I just wanted him to eat something made for his urinary tract issues and that he would like. He's partial to fish flavors so I didn't know if he'd like this but he does. He used to eat only one can a day. He puts away 2 of these a day and looks healthier. I don't know if it's the food, but he likes it and eats it all and loves the gravy. I'd recommend it.

In early September 2018, our cat, Brooklyn, had surgery to remove bladder stones (the size of marbles). Brooklyn was not urinating which I noticed immediately. I rushed her to the E.R. as she wasn't eating, was throwing up and could not empty her bladder. Brooklyn required emergency surgery which cost a fortune! The Vet/Surgeon recommended a very, very expensive moist cat food (I cannot mention the brand name out of respect for the Petco Review Guidelines). Of course, I could not afford this super expensive wet cat-food. I asked for an alternative (recommendation) that would be more budget friendly. The Vet recommended ProPlan Urinary Tract Health. Our cat loves the chicken flavor best. We have tried the other flavors, but she always gravitates towards the chicken. ... MoreIn early September 2018, our cat, Brooklyn, had surgery to remove bladder stones (the size of marbles). The cat-food is NOT grain-free, which is a negative since Brooklyn has gained a little weight. I feed her twice a day. I give her less than half in the morning. I feed her the remainder of the food at 5 p.m. She has been eating ProPlan Urinary Health Formula for 6-months now. This cat food is excellent, because it has kept her very healthy. Brooklyn had a follow-up to check for crystals in her urine as well as bladder stones, and she is free and clear of any urinary issues (no more issues with bladder stones). Yes, she is urinating more, but this is actually a positive since most cats do NOT drink a lot of water (like our dog does). We also feed Brooklyn the ProPlan dry urinary tract food (chicken and rice formula) as a treat because we provide our cat with the wet (moist) Proplan Urinary Health cat food. She loves the chicken & rice formula!

My cat was struggling with urinary issues before my vet recommended this food. She would strain in the litter box, trying to pee, sometimes for over an hour. Since starting this food and the dry food, she’s had no issues! Very happy my kitty is doing well.
I'm surprised how much my cats like this flavor of Pro Plan Focus. They've been on this brand (Pro Plan Focus for kittens) for several months and always liked the chicken flavor the least. However, the Urinary Tract Health chicken flavor is in sauce. That seems to be the key. Both cats love it. I got this for one cat who was forming crystals in her urine. I don't know if it has helped or if we'll still need to consider medicine. I figured it couldn't hurt, but I haven't had her pee re-tested yet.
The packaging and branding recently changed and the food now looks a tad chunkier and less fine than previously. The viscosity of it also seems slightly different. However, my boy still loves the new version as he did the old one all the same. He had a history of UTI and I've been giving him this food more as a preventative + since it's generally better nutrionally than dry food. He goes to his litterbox just fine so I have no complaints!
Our Two Cats LOVED this Flavor even My Picky eater. Bought for prevention purposes and so HAPPY! The can have a great little lift off lid so you do not have to break out the can opener. The only down side ( and my fault for not noticing before i made the online purchase) was that these are the small 3 ounce cans. Our two cats usually split a larger 5.5 oz can of wet food twice day. So, once i got these i realized i was going to have to change things up. We ended up giving them three cans a day to split, breakfast lunch and dinner. And with that the one pack i ordered was gone fast. My error was thinking it would be ok to get a few less cans for a few more dollars if this was ultimately going to be better for them. I cannot comment on how this works as far as for the ... MoreOur Two Cats LOVED this Flavor even My Picky eater. Bought for prevention purposes and so HAPPY! I cannot comment on how this works as far as for the Urinary care because As of now they've never had any urinary problems but i dont want to have any in the future so i thought this might be a good for prevention purposes.I can say that both our cats absolutely loved the flavor of this and ran to the kitchen for their " kitty kind" every time and they ate it ALL, scarfed it down and even licked the plate! I am currently looking for the larger cans in this brand to purchase on repeat. I am thinking i read some where they do have this in the 5 or 5+ oz cans but I've not found them on the Petco website so far,, I would Highly Definitely Recommend this Brand and Flavor to anyone for pretty much any Cat and especially to those who need it for the scary urinary problems I've recently just read about that cats get and Have to be on the special Diet for, To those who dont "need" it now, Prevention is Key and from what i can tell there's a great chance your cat will love this flavor/consistency.
I have been ordering this cat food from Chewy until they ran out of stock. It's one of the few foods my cat will eat. After several weeks w/ no stock from Chewy, I found the food w/ Walmart. It was less expensive and I received my order within 2 days, vs NO STOCK and up to a week wait for delivery when Chewy has stock.
I started giving this to my male cat who was having symptoms of a urinary blockage. Along with some of this dry cat food formula and making sure he's drinking enough water. It's been a few weeks and he seems to be back to normal. He was on the verge of a blockage a few years ago. Right away I took him to the vet and immediately they gave me this expensive canned cat food. I went home did some research and by the end of the week after switching to just Purina classic wet cat food (Purina did not have this special urinary formula available in stores at that time) following him around all day making sure he was drinking enough water, the crystals were gone. The vet was amazed. So if you have a cat that is prone to blockages. The cats like it but get tired of it quickly. I feed them wet food twice a day, and this is breakfast-- I rotate different foods for dinner because if they only receive ProPlan UTH, they start snubbing it after a few days. I have one male & one female, and neither have had any urinary track problems since being on this food for about a year. Whether this is because of the food or not, I don't know, but as long as they will eat it, I'll keep them on it.
