Both of our 3 year old kitties love this product. We bought it for our male who is dealing with some bladder issues. Our female kitty also loves Hydracare and it helps her too. We will keep purchasing this product as long as they enjoy it. The only concern is whether they are getting enough of it on a daily basis. We might go to 3 pouches a day, but it is rather expensive. However, their health is always top of mind!

My kitty Rudy has kidney disease and was also recently diagnosed with heart disease, which required me to cut way down on the sub-q fluids I was giving him because his heart can't take the fluid load. So I really needed a way to keep him hydrated. Two of our vets mentioned Hydra Care to us and so we tried it. Rudy loves it and drinks the entire portion without coming up for air. We're hoping it will be helpful for his kidneys, lab results are pending. Keep your paws crossed!
I have an 18 year old cat that’s in kidney failure and cancer. He had lost a lot of weight this past year but still has been eating wet food and drinking water every day. He’s also gotten fluids by IV when needed . He still had not been feeling well until I got some samples of This from the Vet. He is obsessed with this product. He literally sits by the little bowl and meows in a pitiful way begging for it . I’ve not seen him this happy in a long time and it seems to perk him up. I give him 1 pack per day between his breakfast and dinner and he loves it!! So excited to see him happy and I’m trying everything to give him a better quality of life as he nears the end of one of his 9 lives!
Hydracare has saved my 16 year old cat with Kidney disease. She is acting like a kitten now. She absolutely loves the taste and is eating her kidney food now as well. She has gained weight.My only complaint is when we need to buy more, I have to pay a $16.00 prescription refill to the vet. My senior cats are picky eaters. They are gravy-lovers and the hydracare is somewhat gravy or broth-like. They will often turn away from fresh canned food to lick this up. Anything that is good for them that they will eat makes me happy.
This product has been very helpful for my elderly cat with CKD. She doesn't tolerate sub-cutaneous fluid injections well, so this has been our next best alternative for maintaining her hydration. And she likes it - bonus! I hope Purina never discontinues this product.
