Proactiv+ Benzoyl Peroxide Gel Acne Treatment - Pore Targeting Acne

This product was received for free from Influenster for review/testing purposes. This product helped my acne. The active ingredients are benzoyl peroxide in the first two, and salicylic acid in the third. I was happy with this as a periodic acne treatment but not as a skin routine. This is marketed for sensitive skin. As someone with sensitive skin- the wash is a gritty one and it suggests massaging for 1-2 minutes. It’s on the very upper end of what I’ll use on my skin. Benzoyl peroxide products are drying in general. I found I couldn’t use the products the recommended amount. Maybe once a day for one or two of the products. The moisturizer is very lightweight. I will continue to use the products periodically with modifications for my sensitive skin!

I was super happy to receive this voxbox and hopefully rid myself of this acne once again, Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Over all it did work when used daily. I had less active breakouts. I really liked the exfoliating scrub it left my skin feeling fresh and clean. I did stop using it after 2 weeks for 1 week so I could test it and see how it would function for someone who would be thinking my skin has cleared up I am good to go. I feel like this is a product you would have to continually use to see any benefits.

I had high hopes for this set, since it was meant for individuals with sensitive skin like myself. I completely stopped my usual routine in order to use this for the 30 days. I could barely complete two weeks. My skin broke out so badly. I kept thinking it was my mask but it had never given me issues before. So I kept trying to give it a chance but ultimately gave up. As soon as I stopped and went back to my usual routine my skin got better. Maybe my skin is just too sensitive for this kind of set. Really wish it could’ve done better

Proactiv is on the harsh end of benzoyl peroxide treatments. Before jumping into Proactiv, try a few standard drugstore BP products as a control test to see how your skin reacts to BP in general. If those bring improvement for you, but it’s not enough, then this is the big guns. I used to have severely oily skin with cystic acne. My biggest breakouts occurred on days I forgot to wash my face with a cleanser. Looking back now, I know I had all the signs of predominately bacterial acne. Even with staying hydrated and moisturizing, my skin was so oily I could soak through a quarter of a pack of oil blotting sheets in one go. Thus, I wasn’t afraid of a harsh, drying product like Proactiv. Benzoyl Peroxide is really the most important step in my skincare routine. If I don’t use it, I definitely can tell a difference within a few days. This treatment has quickly become one of my essential products in my skincare routine. It really helps maintain my clear skin because it directly targets my pores, which get clogged by oil really fast.I’m not really big on products that are highly fragranced, but I have to say the smell of this product doesn’t bother me at all. I think that’s a true test of whether a product is working (for you) or not.I think all Proactiv products work the best if they are used the way they are intended to be used. For example, you can’t pull out the cleanser once you have a face full of breakouts and expect them to just go away once you start using it. Excellent!!!

I came down with peroral dermatitis several years ago. My dermatologist put me on an antibiotic Doxocycline. After a month or so, there was improvement but it didn’t last. Recently a friend of mine told me about success with Proactiv so I ordered the tonic and cream. After about a week or so, all signs of ugly bumps and red soon were GONE!!! I can’t wait to report back to my dermatologist and tell her to forget about prescribing Doxycycline. Hooray!!!

Impossible to dispense

This is a liquid in a tube meant for creams. It is therefore almost IMPOSSIBLE to control how much you dispense, and you end up with too little or too much (mostly too much). A real waste of product, makes you order extra because you run out so fast. Product does seem to be working, but it is SO annoying. PLEASE switch this to a tube meant for dispensing liquids.

Made everything worse!!

I had tried it everyday like the directions said and everything was just getting worse after about 1 week. I read some stuff that said it would get worse but right after that it would get so much better. Which was definitely not the case!! I was peeling everywhere and my acne just got worse and by the end of the first month I was over it stopped using it and within 2 weeks it was better than when I was using it!! Now I have something that my dermatologist gave me and its so much better!! I will never get Proactive again in my life!!!

I received this item as a gift. My last order was missing step two and so the team at Proactiv reached out and made it right. Great customer service and shipping was efficient. My review on this product is that, I love it. The second I put it on I can feel it working. This Pore Targeting Treatment has done a great job at keeping my breakouts to a minimum. This is what works for me

I quit using the full Proactiv system years ago -- I just didn't like or use all of the products together. This, however, for as much as I have questioned why it's a leave-on benzoyl peroxide (BP) treatment and if it's really necessary, gives me hands down the best results. It just works for me. I always figured the special BP talked about was just a marketing ploy but I have tried BP washes and drug-store spot treatments, and keep coming back to this b/c of the results.As a non-teenager I use it only in the mornings, over a niacinamide serum and under my SPF. I then use a retinoid at night with a hydrating moisturizer.
