I'll be honest: you can probably find a grinder that does as good a job for less messy. But if size and LOOKS also matter, it's unbeatable, I don't have a lot of space so I wanted a compact but also excellent and fine tunable burr grinder. That's not an easy combo. I also wanted a grinder that was truly aesthetically pleasing. And, well, that does rule out a lot of the competition. It can be a bit messy and occasionally inconsistent in dosing due to, I suspect, a bean feeding glitch.. However, if you are looking for the trifecta of compact size, aesthetically pleasing, and high quality grind, the Profitec is your wining ticket.

I've been using this grinder for just over a year after trading in my Baratza Forte. Compared to the Forte, the Profitec T64 provides far better grind adjustment with it's stepless adjustment (the main reason I traded in the Forte --- very poor adjustment control and consistency), is quieter and just as convenient with it's two dosing settings. At this general price-point, it shares similar specs with the Quamar M80 and arguably better specs than the Mazzer Mini. It's also quite compact and not overly tall. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the trade-up, especially with the excellent trade-in credit that idrinkcoffee gave me for the Forte.

I'll be honest: you can probably find a grinder that does as good a job for less messy. I bought this T-64 grinder to match my Profitec Pro 700 Espresso Machine. It is a nice match and the two appliances really look great together. Sharing the same PID is also a bonus. The T-64 is very easy to adjust and facilitates easy dialing in of the Pro 700 machine. The grind is nice and fine, with minimal clumping, and the coffee drops very nicely into the Profitec portafilter without spilling. The T-64 also comes with a very convenient spill tray that fits under the grinder which is easy to remove and empty without moving the grinder, you just tilt the grinder up and remove the spill tray for cleaning. The compact grinder has a huge powerful low RPM motor and big flat burr blades that make quick work of coffee beans. This grinder seems to do a consistent grind of the coffee, but some beans were seemingly "lighter" in weight. So, the grinder produced an excessive amount of gounds to be used. It seems that there should be some sort of guide that we could use, based on the actual weight of the beans vs volume, that might help set the appropriate grind. It would also be nice to be able to put "markers" on the wheel for this. Peets French are pretty consistent, so maybe be able to use them as a basis? Then lighter beans get a finer grind, and heavier beans get a grind not as fine? This trial and error is a challenge, making several coffees that are wasted.
I’ve had the Profitec grinder for over a year and it has been a great grinder. It is easy to clean with grindz. It is important for both the grinder and the espresso machine to use medium roast beans (not oily). That was part of my learning curve. Minor dialing in of the grind is needed at times. Have been very happy with this nice looking, high quality machine. Expect it to last for years. Used daily to make several coffee drinks.
Super solid build quality as evidenced by the video here on the website. It was easy to program each setting to the desired time. The Hopper locks on solid and you can remove it and keep the coffee stored in there, a nice plus. I'm getting some clumping but am told with time this will improve. T64 is a great machine, ground coffee particle are uniform, have the same size, and work great with a prosumer espresso machine. The unit is fast speed and results are consistent. The timer is easy to setup, and overall the look and feeling of the unit is top quality. I was a bit worried as there are no many reviews online, but ultimately this was a good decision. After buying this grinder I'm wondering if I should have got a Profitec 500 instead of the Giotto. The Profitec quality/price ratio is unbeatable.
I am utterly shocked that there is a single positive review about this grinder. It is so profoundly inconsistent and so profoundly unreliable. I have had it for 10 months. Pulled over 600 shots and know what I am doing very well. I writing this to save others from the grief I have endured from such a terrible grinder. Get a Eureka or Rocket or game changer like a Ceado if price is not an issue. I would throw my T64 in the garbage if the cost of replacement was not so high. I am shocked by the positive reviews. Utterly shocked. They make no sense to myself that has extensively used this subpar grinder
Bought to match look & feel of a profitec maker. It's fine, but not special. I'm sure that there are just-as-good (or better) grinders out there for less money.Things I like:1. Matches my coffee maker.2. Hopper feeds well.3. Reasonably easy to clean.Things that aren't great:1. Relatively messy compared to other grinders I've used.2. Unexpectedly difficult to dial in grind granularity (feels like some slop in the gearing that means it's easy to under/overshoot as you change directions).3. Difficult to program (particularly without the book on-hand).4. Inconsistent dosing (this appears to be related to the screen at the opening... it only releases ground coffee in quanta rather than continuously).
