A+ machine. Bad delivery experience.

5 star review for the machine itself. 1 star for Best Buy’s delivery service. I originally purchased the H7 with the smaller screen, delivery guys messed up the install so bad that it started making horrible sounds. I realized they used the wrong screws on the pedal leg joints. Called Best Buy to tell them to come fix it, but decided to just upgrade to the H14. 2 months and 2 delivery cancellations later I finally got the H14 delivered and installed and the H7 taken away.As for the new machine, I made sure they put it together correctly using the right bolts, and low and behold this thing is super silent and incredibly smooth. Better version of a Stair Climber.

Only had this a few weeks and have used the heck out of it. Had an old stair climber that took up way too much room and was getting old. Figured I'd try this one for the wife and I and we have not been let down by it. My wife does general workouts on these while I use this both pre & post runs to better train my legs and cardio for hilly runs. Adding in stair climbing to my running has not increased my pace but sure has helped me not slow down when running up hills. I like the quad and glute engagement better on this than a traditional stair climber. Hopefully this will translate to the same or better results than our traditional climber. Time will tell.

Excellent performance poor quality / reliability
1 June 2022

One of the best pieces of exercise equipment I’ve ever owned. Right up until it broke after 8 months. The axel broke away from the drive pulley. 5 weeks later the service company completed the repair. 6 weeks after the repair, the machine is making banging noises each downstroke of the pedal or pull on the handles.Have requested a warranty replacement and currently waiting on ProForm’s follow up / decision. When this thing is working it’s amazing, however, it’s reliability and quality leave much to be desired.

I am enjoying this elliptical and using the ifit membership that comes with it. Lots of fun training exercises, runs, walks, etc. The quality of this elliptical is pretty’s solid. It’s definitely a two person operation to put this beast together. A few months in, some of the internal screws that come factory assembled started to rub and get lose. A 13mm ratchet did the job. Not sure why it started to cause issues 2 months in but they were correctable without calling for service for now. Hopefully any parts that go, fall within the warranty time frame.

Great quality and workout
1 February 2022

It's been over a year since purchasing this machine and I am very pleased with the quality and the workout I get. I had Geek Squad install it (they had to come back and resolve the squeaks which turned out to be just the tightening of the bolts on the base. I mainly use the manual workouts and the free pre-programmed workouts. When I purchased this machine it also came with a year free of the IFIT programs. I also love the look of this machine (reminds me of the TRON cycles). I do recommend Geek Squad to install it because if anything goes wrong they will come back and resolve it. The only negative is the heart rate monitor grips don't give accurate reading, I use a wearable Bluetooth heart monitor instead, (connects automatically) that works much better to monitor ... MoreIt's been over a year since purchasing this machine and I am very pleased with the quality and the workout I get. I'm never going to the gym again.
13 October 2020

I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I've been supplementing my gym workouts for home workouts, but have missed my favorite machines (especially the elliptical I used every day). This has been EXACTLY what I needed to keep my fitness on track.- Great range of motion (I'm 6'4" so I was worried about the steps being too small).- Very quiet (had some small squeaks & creaks at first, but they have subsided).- Lots of free content (I waited to activate my free 1-year iFit sub, and was very pleased with the amount of free workouts to watch as I was getting familiar with the services). Really relaxing to go along with a trainer on a hike in the mountains or on a beach.- Compact in size and easy to roll away to open up space when not working out.- The fan sounds ... MoreI used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week. Overall great machine
31 December 2021

Just purchased Proform HIIT 14 a bit over a week ago. Fabulous work out. I gave away my elliptical when we moved and I loved the workout compared to a treadmill. Adding in the stepper motion makes for an even better bang for your workout time. It also takes up half the room of my old elliptical! Cons: nowhere to put my cellphone for music and the fan is just terrible. Not much air and I’m too short for it to really hit me. I’m giving it 4 stars. If I had a better fan and a place for my phone, it would have 5 stars.

Pro-Form and iFit conspiracy?
24 March 2021

Looks like Pro-Form has conspired with iFit. We will build the trainer and you supply the monitor\software and the user will only have iFit programs to run and will have to buy a monthly membership to basically run a training program that should be stored on the trainer. There are no standard training programs on this trainer that a user can just jump on and run. No programs built specifically for this trainer and no programs that the user can setup and use as their own. Just iFit programs\videos that you will have to pay for eventually. Some of the programs from iFit are supposedly included as standard, no fee required to use, but none are for a trainer like the Pro-Form H14…they are for treadmills and ellipticals which are totally different motions and effort ... MoreLooks like Pro-Form has conspired with iFit. Some of the programs from iFit are supposedly included as standard, no fee required to use, but none are for a trainer like the Pro-Form H14…they are for treadmills and ellipticals which are totally different motions and effort levels. What about those of us that don’t want to follow a trainer video\class…to bad, you have to watch our stuff. You can setup a manual course in iFit but only for running or cycling with only an option for time of the workout and nothing for an H14 type trainer and no options to change levels or time intervals i.e., level 8 for 30 seconds and then 1 minute at level 4 etc.. You can use manual mode on the Pro-Form but it is for time only. You can change up the intensity manually during the workout to get some kind of tabata type training, but even that you can’t save so it is available later. Also, you can’t save a routine that would keep your hear rate in a defined range. All of the above capabilities are on any treadmill or elliptical built in the last ten years. This trainer is all about selling memberships to iFit. That is great for individuals that like that but what about people that just want to jump on and do their 10 minute tabata routine or some other saved routine – no chance. Before you buy this trainer you should visit the iFit web site, I won’t even start on the cumbersome design of the iFit website, and view the routines that are available and determine if iFit has what you want to watch over and over again for a monthly fee. I searched for HIIT H14 and found nothing and certainly nothing that you can save as your own routine on the trainer itself. As far as the trainer itself goes, I kind of like it! I bought the trainer for $1599 a week ago and came on today to vent about the iFit stuff and I see it listed for $2999 – what’s up with that? Still sells for $1699 on the Pro-Form website. Best Buy delivered the H14 on time and in good condition. Took a couple of hours to put together. Seems like a few things could have been put together before shipping without increasing the size of shipping box but not a big deal. Be aware that the H14 won’t fit through your doorways. The site says 29” wide, which would fit through most residential doorways, but after the arms are installed the width is easily 32” wide and most doorways are 29” to 30” wide…so, that is a no go even if you try and angle it in. It is fairly easy to move with the wheels. PYou will have to remove at least one arm to move it between rooms. Also, it is not really that much smaller than an elliptical. It is just as wide, and tall and about 2/3rds the length. The fan is weak and made a grinding noise when it started it up, so not sure how that will hold up. The speakers are what you would expect on a trainer – pretty weak…best to use the headphone jack. The monitor is nice but the manual says to unplug the trainer when not in use to protect the monitor? You couldn’t have a power button on the console? When you plug it back in to start a workout it takes a couple of minutes to startup while it reconnects to iFit and about half the time you have to retry before it connects to wifi and the iFit site…and Its not my wifi, because I stream Amazon Prime in HD in the same room and it boots up in about 15 seconds with no problems. Also, since this is an “iFit” tablet, not an Android, you can’t install any security software on it for protection against malware etc. or stream any content from Netflix etc..I like the flywheel design, similar to my old Sole elliptical, because it is quiet and smooth. This trainer is more of a stair climber than an elliptical and the stride is fairly high at 10”. If you are a tall person that may seem short and if you are short it may seem high\tougher and you will feel it in your thighs until you get used to it. That is another issue with the iFit videos that are not based on this type of trainer. In the videos the people are doing a warmup walk and you are doing a warmup “stair climb” and your thighs will be burning before you even start the workout especially if you are use to an elliptical.Overall, I give the physical H14 trainer about a 4.5 because it seems to be well built, smooth, and quiet but only time will tell if the quality is there. But, sadly, the lack of built in programs on the trainer similar to other trainers is a real deal breaker and I downgraded it to a 3 overall. I am at a loss as to why Pro-Form and iFit would not include default and user defined routines on the trainer itself- except to try and force sell monthly memberships. I will call Best Buy tomorrow and see if I can return this for a full refund. If not, I will use the trainer in manual mode and be frustrated with its iFit software design until I finally give up and sell it at a loss ruing the fact that I didn’t dig further on how this trainer actually works and naively assuming that all trainers have at least some basic\standard\user defined programs on the machine itself.

Screen won't power down!
7 October 2021

From day one, we've not been able to get the screen to power down. The screen stays on with a screensaver of landscapes always on. The screen never powers down or at least fades to black. Many people put these trainers in their bedrooms. Wow wants see that light all night long? That's certainly not good for anyone's health and fitness! It took nearly a year to get customer service to respond, only because they wanted us to extend our warranty. Tech support said, the machine is designed so the screen never turns off. Yet a reply from ProForm to another review specifically states that screen is designed to power down. Which is the truth? Nothing has been resolved.
