I picked up this guitar as a replacement for an Epiphone Les Paul Custom that I never got along with. The night and day difference between these two instruments is huge and playing them back to back really highlights how much I prefer the feel of the PRS.The overall quality is superb, and I’m particularly impressed with the floating bridge and how stable the tuning is compared to other guitars I’ve tried. To me the coil splitting is a real stand out feature that sounds pretty good to my ears. That being said, my particular guitar has a small amount of damage to the finish that to me looks like something was dropped on the guitar before it was boxed up. This really should’ve been picked up by PRS before being sent out and suggests to me that these guitars likely ... Beautiful aesthetically especially the green paint color and the neck inlays are top notch as is the gig bag. now the elephant in the room the really bad pickups.it keeps it from being a 5 star guitar.Even with two separate toggle switches these pups are underwater sounding. The clean tones are ok but I just cant get a good crisp cutting sound out of these distorted and it's a bummer. My advise to PRS is take the extra money spent on the fancy gig bag, make a lesser quality bag and spend the money on putting better pickups in these guitars. It would make this guitar something a pro would use instead of what it is- a beginner/intermediate player guitar. The wow factor when you open the gig bag is undeniable, but when you plug it in to play it's a big let ... This is the first prs I’ve ever owned and I have to say if this is the quality prs puts out for their SE line, I can only imagine how good the core models are! I mostly play heavier stuff (djent, deathcore, death metal, etc.) and with the right eq settings these pickups do just fine. But they really shine with lower gain and crunch scenarios. I love playing jazz or doing some chicken pickin with the multiple sounds you can get out of the wiring setup. Superrrr versatile, very well built for an Indo guitar. My only complaint is the glossy neck, since I mostly play leads. But that can be solved fairly easily. It’s an easy guitar to play and it plays like butter. Stays in good tune even with whammy abuse. No sharp fret ends, fret buzz, high action, bad intonation etc. ... Other than that for it’s price point it’s amazing!

Sound:The tone from this guitar is actually nice. Many people think at first it sounds a bit bit muddy for some amps, but honestly you just have to dial in the proper settings. i have mine with high gain setting, mid gain and clean and it sounds great.Features:The guitar is pretty basic and it doesn't appeal to many players just because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles some others may have. It does have a coil split on the Tone knob. I love the feel of the neck and for me its been awesome as it stays in tune.Ease of Use:I use a Boss Katana 100wat head and cabinet and can get any tone I am looking for and make it sound great no matter what.Quality:I have to say mine came flawless. The picture on the zZounds site makes the guitar appear to be more of a matte or flat paint finish. This caused me to hesitate as I am not big on matte finish, but thought I would give it a shot since I do have some flat black guitars. When it arrived, It was a Gloss Finish and it was beautifulValue:The Price is nice as it is well built and the affordable payments make that much nicer and easier to get a quality instrument.Manufacturer Support:This is my first PRS guitar and I am very pleased with the product and will consider PRS Guitars in the future as one of my favorites. The Wow Factor:The guitar stays in tune very well. It may need a setup when you receive it but once properly setup, it plays like butter and is very smooth. Many people complain about how it doesn't stay in tune. But it is all about the setup. I have a total of 23 guitars and this is in my top 5 now. (Les Paul, Strats, Ibanez, Schecter, EVH, BC Rich ,etc.)Overall:The photo does not do it justice. It has a gloss finish that is just beautiful. Once properly setup the guitar stays in tune and plays like a dream. This is my first PRS guitar and will not be my last. The guitar may not have the bells and whistles of many Super Strats, but sometimes you just need something simple to just PLAY. Out of 23 guitars this one is now in my top 5Thanks PRS and thanks zZounds! A Customer for life. Never disappointed.
I had always heard that PRS makes an exceptional product, so I took the plunge and bought myself one. Having had several instruments previously that were around the same price-point, I had tempered my expectations to be a middle of the road guitar that would get the job done. What I received was a more than solid electric that surprised me at every turn. The craftsmanship is superb; from the fret dressings to the electronics on board, every aspect was perfect. I hooked it up to my usual sound board and was impressed by the responsiveness of the pickups, the comfort of the neck, and it only got better as I elaborated the tone through effects. This guitar rips. Out of curiosity I plugged it into a 25w Fender Rumble along with my Wampler Ratsbane, and the clarity of tone and sheer power from the pick ups knocked my socks off. Suddenly in that small amp I had something special and immediately moved it to my recording rig. The flexibility of tone and distinct voicing lended itself to creating new soundscapes. My favorite feature is hard to describe. The neck feels smooth and fast, the weight ratio of the neck and body feel good, and the electronics are more than serviceable.
I had high expectations based on all of the reviews, but this exceeded it. I have several great guitars at higher price points and I know quality. The fretwork on this guitar is the best I've seen on any guitar. Setup was near perfect. I dropped the action 0.25 mm at the 12th and raised the pickups. The pickups sounded a little weak until I did this, but it was a quick and easy fix. Plays great. Sounds great. Comfortable. Versatile. Beautiful. Sounds almost like a Les Paul & almost like a Strat. Trem is perfect. It's my new desert island guitar.
This is a great guitar. I've owned it for a year. If you're want a PRS for under $1000, this is what you're looking for. The craftsmanship of the Custom 24 is outstanding. The frets are perfect, the guitar itself is very ergonomic and comfortable, the fret tangs are under the fretboard so you are almost never going to get any sharp edges. The fretboard is rounded which is a great attention to detail and very appreciated. The body of the guitar has a natural wood binding peaking through and looks great. The playability is very strong. The neck is a wide C shape and is comfortable, it's fast but not shredder fast. The guitar has a very nice pronounced low end to it. The neck is a wide C shape and is comfortable, it's fast but not shredder fast. The guitar has a very nice pronounced low end to it. I have had two issues which are fixable but still issues nonetheless. The first one is tuning. You may not have problems if you're prone to sticking to one tuning, but if you're like me and like to change tunings a lot you may have to fight it for a good 15 minutes before it settles in. It's to the point where I won't even take it to rehearsal because I don't want to make the guys wait while I change tunings. I plan on getting locking tuners soon and hoping that'll fix it. The other issue I have is the pickup. The neck pickup I don't mind but the bridge pickup is just awful to my ear. It's very muddy and sometimes I can't play it for more than 20 minutes with it. That's another upgrade on the list. Other than those two the guitar is an incredible instrument. It comes with a gig bag which has thick padding and a rugged outside stitching. It also has a big pocket and thick comfortable shoulder straps as well as a hook hiding in the back pocket if you want to hang it up anywhere. I usually like getting hardshell cases for my guitars when I can but I don't think I'll need one here. Overall if you stay in one tuning or don't change often and you had a chance to play one at a store and don't mind the pickups I'd say go for it. Like I said the pickup just isn't my taste and someone else might like it for their style. The factory in Indonesia did a great job and PRS in general is the gold standard of QC in the guitar world.
I was deciding between this and a MIM Strat. I swear that the Guitar Center staff were getting sick of me coming in to compare the 2, which I did for about 2-3 weeks. In the end it came down to how it felt when I played open cords and how it made me feel (you gotta love what you play).I keep the guitar in plain sight in my home and it just beckons me to grab it and start practicing/noodling every day. It still makes me smile when I grab it off the wall. The craftsmanship is excellent. Clean or distorted, it sounds amazing through my Katana-50. The action is set up nice and low without any fret buzzing and it stays in tune for days! If you pay a little more than a typical "beginner's" guitar, you will get something that will make you want to play, is easy to play, and just looks awesome.
I have the exact Ezira Verde SE PRS . I own 38 guitars, mostly fenders , Gibson, and maybe Two PRS custom anniversary USA models. Of course you have some change in the pickups , hardware and HSC but if you need a good work horse of a guitar. This it it. Besides if PRS themselves allow this guitars for budget to be made, well they stand behind there manufacture regardless where its made. Case and point. Well these arent getting any cheaper no time soon. Do yourself a big favor, buy one of them. It will not disappoint you, and save you lots of money. The neck is good, the pickups are definitely keepers if you like to distort them. The body , although its veneer, like EPIPHONE, its still a great looking guitar and the strings are good too. Grab you one!! There not getting any cheaper and they resale value is not either. Its a great guitar. BTW.. it does stay in tune whammy bar or none. Great guitar
