Based on the McCarty platform, the DGT model has been a constant favorite since its introduction in 2007, thanks to Grissom’s deep knowledge of vintage guitars and his painstaking attention to detail. Every feature on the SE DGT has been considered from the neck shape to the fret choice and dressing, from the colors to the pickups and electronics layout. The SE DGT features vintage-voiced humbuckers paired with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone control that taps the humbuckers for sweet, single-coil inspired sounds. This layout puts a lot of control and versatility on tap so you can focus on playing and not the guitar. Easy to play, stays in tune, pickups sound good. Finish on the gold top isnt perfect but over all a good guitar for the money.

But when I unpacked the guitar I was a bit shocked by the poor quality of the assembly. There were really sharp edges where the saddle meets the neck, had to sand them down. The action was way too high, I had to cut the nut to get it right. The knob of the coil split poti came loose after 3 or 4 times using it, had to use superglue to put it back on, because the dents were spoiled. And the high e-string was not put in properly, it stuck with the ball end at the outer side (!) of the tremolo block. Loose screws on the machine heads completed the picture...So the quality promise of PRS to get a gig-ready guitar was not met at all. No idea, how this guitar in this condition could pass QC twice.To be clear: the quality of the parts of of the SE DGT is very good, neck ...
