Pureology Nanoworks Gold Shampoo - 266ml

I got this in a voxbox and I was hoping it would be amazing but for the price ....I say move on as definitely not impressive as I hoped. The smell is faint unless u have the nose of a dog and sniff everything out but aside from the scent or lack thereof - the functionality of the shampoo - after using it on one week dirty hair - u will have to use a different shampoo if u want a thorough cleansing of crap that built up! Having thick and coarse asian hair that I haven't had a chance to color (thanks covid) in a year - this shampoo did absolutely nothing and I felt like it didnt wash anything off. I would say it would be for people who color their hair but maybe have a somewhat dry scalp as this definitely does not brighten the faded bayalage thats left on the ends of my hair and as far as softness in my hair due to the conditioner- none I love my ryo brand shampoo and conditioner as it gives more benefits to scalp and hair - aside from the strong ginseng smell but then again I am Korean - so this smell is something I'm used to so I love it esp since it's benefits outweight everything and I don't even get frizz EVER!!! AND IT HAS A HAIR LOSS PREVENTION BRAND!! RYO : 100 POINTS VS 0 FOR OPPONENT. The winners stand in the back! For the price of one this sucks - u can go to amazon and get two of the ryo brand and it cleans and has benefits aka decreasing hair loss and it makes your hair so shiny! Or just go the pantene or herbal essences route as the results would still be better. I give it two stars for effort but come on with the price! At least make the product have $40+ of outcome!

I was really excited to receive this vox box from influenster for free to review as I’ve always wanted to try Pureology but was put off by the $91 price for the shampoo/conditioner combo. I have really thick, fine, mostly straight hair and usually wash my hair every 2nd or 3rd day, depending on if I got rained on/worked out/got sweaty etc. Any more often and my hair frizzes like crazy. Using that time table for washing and air drying 75% and then blow drying my hair is usually sleek and shiny and straight, even without using a flat iron. I had it trimmed about 3 weeks ago and had an olaplex treatment just to keep the hot weather/humidity frizz to a minimum, so my hair is very healthy, even though it runs on the dry side since it’s so thick. The first time I used this shampoo conditioner I noticed my hair seemed to hold onto water, I couldn’t get it as dry with my microfiber towel and it took twice as long to air dry to 75% than normal. Then, when using my blow dryer to finish off, it still took double the time and I felt like I just couldn’t get it 100% dry. Not only that, I had flyaways like crazy and my hair looked so dull, and I had a constant kink in the back. My usually smooth, thick ponytail was frizzy around my hairline and the tail itself looked stringy and separated and dry. I figured maybe it was a fluke- my hair getting used to new shampoo. Nope. I’ve used this shampoo and conditioner 5 times now over the course of 2 weeks and my hair looks just as horrible and takes longer to dry every single time. I couldn’t stomach the thought of using this shampoo again, so I gave it to my fiancé who loves pricy shampoo and he was happy with it. Hence 2 stars instead of 1. I will keep the conditioner for myself and use it once a week or so as a hair mask when I’m soaking in the tub, as I feel like it’s the shampoo, rather than the conditioner that is making my hair look so terrible. If I had paid $91 for this I would have been livid. I’m incredibly grateful to influenster for this box and giving me a chance to try this shampoo without having to purchase it myself. I just don’t understand how pureology can market this for dry or color treated hair and then the product makes my hair look more dry and look damaged. Epic disappointment for my hair.

I received a bottle of this conditioner from Pureology's Nanoworks Gold line and have been using this together with the Pureology Nanoworks Gold Shampoo. I really enjoy how creamy this conditioner is since it makes detangling my hair easy and my curls feel soft and hydrated. I will say I don't enjoy the smell since it has a smoky scent that thankfully does not linger, but it is quite noticeable while you are applying. I have never colored my hair so I cannot say how this helps with keeping your color. However, I can attest that this has been a blessing as I wait for my haircut since this has helped keep my hair soft and manageable (still battling frizz, but it is reduced). You do not need to worry about build up or a greasy scalp with this conditioner, which is always a plus. I only need a little to detangle my hair, but I found that applying a little more after I detangled and clipping my hair up as I did the rest of my shower business was the best way to give my curls the moisture it needed. Including this step has made my hair feel and look better with using these products, despite being 3 months overdue for a trim. I would give this conditioner 4 stars since the overall experience has been wonderful, but the smell and price make it unrealistic for me to purchase this. I also don't have colored hair, so I don't want to give this product 5 stars since I don't know how well this conditioner nourishes colored hair. Personally, I would not purchase this since this product is not really for my virgin hair. However, I would recommend those with colored hair to try this if they don't mind the price since I enjoyed how soft this made my curls and I love how this conditioner is also focused on scalp health. Another point I should bring up is that this is not CG approved so if you are a strict follower to the CG method then you will want to avoid this. If it wasn’t for the price, I would recommend this conditioner to others since it is very nourishing, and my curls love this.

The formula is sulfate, paraben, mineral oil, animal products/by-products free which means this shampoo won’t strip all the natural oil from your hair, and it won’t leave the scalp too dry. Less is more so the less chemicals, the healthier your hair will be after using this. After three days of consecutive use I do see the shine that this shampoo has added to my dull color treated hair and my brittle ends aren’t as dry as they normally are. CONS: After three days of consecutive use, I find that my hair wasn’t as light and voluminous as it normally is. Could very well be that I have fine hair and this is just weighing down my hair due to heavy key ingredients such as Keravis and Golden Maryland Oil. Final thoughts: I honestly feel like this shampoo has a lot of pros due to clean ingredients and it adds shine to my dull dry color treated hair. I might switch this product to a once a week usage rotation along with my Hydrate Sheer Pureology just to see if I can still reap the benefits. While I like this product, I’m not confident that I would stray away from my Hydrate Sheer shampoo. I’ve seen a lot of people put off by the cost and I can see why as this is costly as a temporary solution for your hair. However the ingredients in the formula definitely is worth the price and you deserve to treat yourself/your hair to amazing products.

Improved dryness, frizz and fly aways!

After using L'Oreal's Ever Pure for about 6 months, I bought sample size bottles of the Nanoworks Gold shampoo and conditioner to try first before making the investment in full-size bottles. I have fine textured, straight and on the thin side, naturally gray hair with dry ends that tends to be a bit frizzy and fly away right after I wash it. Oh, and my scalp is normal. I was concerned that this shampoo and conditioner would weigh my hair down too much, and make my scalp become too oily too soon after washing, but that didn't happen. Instead, it improved my dry ends and pretty much did away with the frizzies and fly aways. I know some people might be a little concerned about spending almost $100 for shampoo & conditioner, but I promise you it's worth the price. The only time my hair has looked or felt as amazing as it does now are the times I've spent $75-$150 at the salon for a 'moisturizing hair treatment' & now I get the same results each time I wash my hair at home, so in my opinion it's a fantastic value. For the last year I've had my hair bleached and have been dyeing it fun colors, but lately I've had drier hair because some colors would remain in my hair more than others that it was near impossible to remove unless I did a bleach bath on my hair. Bleached hair equals dry ends. Washing my hair with this shampoo felt so nice - like my hair revived during the lather, and in combination with the corresponding conditioner, my hair feels even better. The scent is a warm, floral scent to me and is not overpowering.I would purchase this shampoo and continue to use it for when my hair is really dry, but the price point is a bit steep for shampoo to be used on a regular basis. I might use this only for when my hair is feeling super dry after overprocessing it. It gets my hair clean and it feels wonderful afterwards, but at nearly $50 for a standard 9 fl oz bottle this wouldn't become my everyday shampoo. As I ran the product through my ends, I could feel how moisturized my strands were becoming, and also felt any tangles which were starting in the shower had immediately disappeared as I pushed the product through my strands. On removal of the product, it was easy to rinse and I felt as though my ends were more hydrated and nourished.As I continued using the product, I did enjoy the way my hair felt each time I got out of the shower. I let my hair air dry at night and felt that when I woke up in the morning, I had less frizz and had more touchable, manageable hair after using it.Overall, I would say this product is definitely worth the hype it receives but feel they are definitely overcharging for this product.
