Pureology Smooth Perfection Smoothing Lotion (195ml)

I’m a huge fan of this smoothing lotion. I used it with the Pureology smooth perfection shampoo/conditioner and the three products worked well together! I love that this hair lotion can be used on both wet and dry hair. I normally air dry my hair, and felt like this product wasn’t the best for that purpose, but when blow drying or applying heat it was great! It left my hair super smooth and silky without weighing it down too much. The smell is a bit strong for me, but wasn’t too much of an issue. I have hair that’s naturally a bit wavy and thick, so I don’t think this product is perfect for my hair, but it does work pretty well, especially when styling with heat. Pureology Smooth Perfection haircare is absolutely amazing! After washing my hair with the smooth perfection shampoo and conditioner and allowing my hair to towel dry for 10 minutes, I applied the smooth perfection lotion. I only applied the lotion to the ends of my hair, not the roots. I have thick wavy/curly hair so I used 1 pump on one side of my hair and another pump for the other side. After application, I proceeded to blow dry my hair. I was shocked by how straight and smooth my hair was. My hair is usually frizzy after blow drying, but this haircare line helped my hair tremendously. It was so much easier to flat iron and looked healthy and shiny after styling. I would definitely recommend the Pureology Smooth Perfection haircare line. It is my new favorite!

So I used this in conjunction with the shampoo and conditioner in the same line. Overall I’m still undecided if I would ever purchase this product. I like that it also protects your hair from heat so there’s no need to spray a separate product in your hair for that purpose, but I feel like it’s hair to make sure the cream gets everywhere to to protect your hair from the heat - for this reason I think I prefer sprays as opposed to a cream/lotion form. But I did like that no matter how much product I used it did not feel greasy or build up in my hair. And I even tried it on dry hair to smooth out my ends more and it was not greasy at all. I was being very hopeful for this product. The texture is white and is as thick as some of my previous styling products. Smells just like the shampoo and conditioner of the same line, floral with some earthiness. After using the shampoo and conditioner, I towel dried my hair and used a small dime sized amount on my damp hair. I let it air dry first then flat ironed. I will say after styling, my hair was smooth and soft. I put it to the test and walked outside in the misty, WA weather. I could actually feel my hair curl up and frizz. After looking in the mirror, I was right. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but my hair still frizzed. I guess I will have to keep trying or just not walk outside 🤣.

It doesn’t have much of a smell unlike the shampoo and conditioner in this line. I don’t mind this. I’d rather have no smell than something overpowering anyway. The consistency is a medium creamy formula. It’s thicker than some other watery formulas but not as thick as a paste or rich Creme so it’s pretty easy to work into the hair. I like that it offers thermal protection. However I didn’t really notice an improvement in smoothing. I mostly need to combat frizz in my ends which is where I concentrated the application, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. It didn’t seem to hurt but didn’t really help either.

Great lightweight smoothing lotion!

This lotion is great. It feels very lightweight, I have oily scalp and hair that is tend to be greasy fast and yet very frizzy due to highlights and straightening. I was glad to find out that this lotion is not greasy or sticky and doesn’t weigh my hair down and It does help protect my hair from heat treatment and it’s noticeable. After two week of use I noticed that it helped my hair look smoother and less frizzy. I actually liked the result so much that I even take the time to use my hair straightener more frequently. The only single drawback is the scent, I wish it was less peachy and last shorter. Not to my liking anyway.I would definitely recommend this product for someone who wants to improve the look and the feel of their hair using heat treatments.

Hair still frizzes, but will continue to use

I received this to test from Influentster. I have purchased Pureology products for years and I tend to go back and forth with them. The smoothing line is new to me so I figured I will give it a whirl. The consistency is a little thick, and smells floral/herbal. Since I have chin-length, medium-coarse, damaged hair, I used about a dime size, which I thought might have been too much. I let it air dry completely, then flat ironed my hair. It did smooth out my hair with first use. After I stepped outside in the humid weather, well...let's just say everything went poof! Honestly, and maybe it's just my damaged hair, but after using this lotion and styling my hair, it still frizzed to no end and I was disappointed. Serious pros and cons

Okay this product is functionally great - genuinely it works really well and does really well helping to smooth hair when I blow dry it. However, the smell is absolutely not my cup of tea. It’s so strong and not pleasant. I am not sure if it because it is clashing with the scent of my shampoo and conditioner but it is really unpleasant. I functionally I will probably keep using it because it does it’s job and also after blow drying it out the scent does dissipate significantly but it’s hard to beat during the process until after my hair is done and I can put other products in to make my hair smell more pleasant my.
