In addition, the original 20 lbs of litter swells to triple its weight or more after use making the trash bin so heavy, for the first time ever our provider refused our pickup due to excessive weight. I can only imagine what archaeologists will say 200 years from now as they explore the remnants of our landfills… Tidy cat isn’t tidy, there’s no odor control, and it more than doubles time, effort, and expense of litter box care for a single cat...multiplies if you have more than one feline…and adds mess to the surrounding areas of your home. Tidy cat isn’t an efficient use of funds, time, or resources. I’m not making this up and I won’t be buying any more “tidy cat”

I've been using Tidy Cat Natural for many years. Love the way it eliminates odor immediately, even when they don't cover their business! Plus the way I keep it clean, it doesn't have to be changed very often. Recently, however, all 3 of my cats started sneezing and had watery eyes. I had noticed the natural litter was much more dusty than it used to be, so decided to switch to a low dust clay to see if it made a difference. It definitely has! Their eyes have cleared up and the sneezing has stopped. The cats took to the clay right away, but the odor control is not nearly as good as the Naturals. I will say that I tried a different brand of clay first, more expensive, but it had better immediate odor control. I prefer unscented litter. When I opened the bag of litter, I took a big sniff and there was absolutely no scent! Nada, not even the vague scent of dust. Wow. Then I poured about 1/3 of the bag into the freshly-washed litter pan. No dust whatsoever, and still no scent at all. The texture is nice, like a medium-fine grade. Not too small like sand but not as course as the standard clay. I think my cat's feet will like it. So far, my cat has used it for liquid eliminating only and there is absolutely no smell. You’ve got to double bag this awful stuff due to odor and sheer weight. You can’t even consider composting it because it just keeps absorbing and grows like a science fair project gone wrong, so you have to trash it. More problems: odor seeps into and through the bags of used litter and becomes part of your trash bins which become so stinky any amount of cleaning or deodorizing doesn’t fix it so your bins will retain that odor indefinitely. In addition, the original 20 lbs of litter swells to triple its weight or more after use making the trash bin so heavy, for the first time ever our provider refused our pickup due to excessive weight. I can only imagine what archaeologists will say 200 years from now as they explore the remnants of our landfills… Tidy cat isn’t tidy, there’s no odor control, and it actually doubles time, effort, and expense of litter box care for a single cat..,multiplies if you have more than one feline…and adds mess to the surrounding areas of your home. Tidy cat isn’t an efficient use of funds, time, or resources. I’m not making this up and I won’t be buying any more “tidy cat”
This litter does have good things going for it but for me the cons outweigh the pros. I've used this litter multiple times, trying it out then trying others, forgetting why I stopped using it then returning to it . . . when the litter comes in the pourable jug it is usually one of the lowest dust litters I have ever used. This litter really is unscented, which I like because I hate my cats carrying around the perfume of the litter, but the odor control isn't that great. The empty box still smells like there's a gift from the cats inside.
