Pyrex Simply Store With Mix Colour Lid Set of 18

I love these! I'm done with plastic containers. These are great and they stack into each other with the lids on so you don't need much cabinet space to store them. Leftovers stored in these glass containers can be put in the microwave to rewarm. Fantastic!!!

A lid broke after 6 months

I would recommend these to a friend only with the following caveat: If you buy these, do not stack anything on top of them that doesn't rest fully on the glass rims. I wouldn't put any weight on the inner portion of the lid, ever. I was very pleased with these when I first purchased them. I didn't mind that the lids did not fit tightly. I usually wash them by hand, alone, never with utensils. (I never fill my sink with dishes but instead take one thing off the counter at a time to wash it, because I am picking about putting no unnecessary scratches on my dishes.) I have put these Pyrex bowls and lids inot the freezer a half-dozen times (rarely) and have put them into the dishwasher rarely as well, because I know how an automatic dishwasher is harsh on things. I purchased these exactly 7 months ago, and the lid for one of the (2) 3-cup rectangular bowls (7.1x5.1x1.6) broke because I had stacked 3 similar-sized two-pound packages of chicken thighs on top of it in the refrigerator, ones in lightweight plastic trays the way they had been packaged in the store. I typically do not stack things unless the item on top rests on the glass rim of the container, in order to keep the lid from bearing the weight, but in this case I broke my rule a little bit and the lid broke. Possibly it broke under the weight of the chicken combined with the pressure of my thumb as I slid it out from under the chicken. Possibly the kind of plastic needed in order to be able to use these in the microwave is necessarily a brittle plastic.

Been using these for years

These glass storage containers are the best. Been using them for years. The recent purchase was because we needed additional containers as we use them all the time and to replace some of the plastic lids as they tend to crack after a few years. These containers are also great because you can reheat the food in them in the microwave. Can’t do that with some plastics and metal containers.

Great replacement for plastic storage containers

Because of the effect on the environment and the fear of BPA's that many plastic containers contain I decided to make the switch to glass for storing hot foods and liquids in the refrigerator. These glass containers were reasonably prices, attractive and just what I was looking for for food storage. They are cleaner than plastic because the nonporous surface will not absorb food, germs and smells. I can use and reuse these glass containers again and again, which will save me money. I love being able to store, reheat and even clean these containers in the dishwasher. Removing anything greasy or oily from a plastic container is often difficult and glass takes away that issue. I plan to purchase more continuing to replace my plastic containers. I bought the product using the $10.00 Off Birthday Coupon that I received. I have always loved the Pyrex brand because my grandparents have been using it even before I was born and it is such a trusted brand. Since I got married, 3 years now, my husband and I have had only a couple of Pyrex items, mainly measuring cups and a few pieces of storage stuff for our work lunch. For our everyday use and leftover containers, we have Rubbermaid. In fact, we have about 50 of those plastic Rubbermaid containers. My main problem with them is they stain and they get distorted from the dishwasher easily. This is why I have decided to use only glassware (either Snapware, Pyrex or Corningware). Lid melted in microwave

I love this set of bowls, but I must caution that the lid melted in my microwave after 1 minute 15 seconds of heating although they claim to be microwave safe. Now my smallest bowl has no lid. I will take care not to use the remainder of the set in the microwave, but I will not purchase (this set was a gift) and I do not recommend. Bowls are nice and heavy, but not good value without the lids.

Product not durable and warranty coverage is poor.

These are used for storage only (do not use in the oven or microwave) and I do not use metal utensils when transferring food to or from the storage container. The lids stain easily and absorb odors so I do send these through the dishwasher on the top rack. When the box arrived not all the pieces were replaced and no explanation was provided as to why. Since, I was new to glass storage containers I thought that this performance was normal. I decided to try another brand and have been much happier with the performance. The glass itself is heavier in a side by side comparison and the lids are more flexible straight from the fridge which seems to help with preventing the sides from cracking. More importantly the lips of the containers are smoother and more rounded so they do not chip. In the past I have been happy with Pyrex products. I have had the covered mixing bowl set for about eight years with no chips and no lids splitting. The recent product quality is a disappointment as is the customer service and warranty coverage. I am satisfied with the quality of the other brand I tried and will continue to replace the Pyrex pieces that fail with pieces from this brand. I do not have room in my kitchen for something that is this prone to breakage. I would not repurchase or recommend Pyrex glass storage containers.

TOO SMALL!!!!!

Bought in store, didn't realize they would all be so small! Took them out and very disappointed. The sizes are not realistic if you are planning to use to take food to potlucks or things like that. Don't like how they are stored in the box either. It's very confusing and easy to break them just trying to get them out and back in again!

Would not buy again

New version of this set has changed and the lids don't work correctly. I already have this set from a past purchase and can immediately tell the set has changed. See picture for example. I put a 4 cup bowl inside of an 8 cup bowl. The 8 cup bowl is from the old set where the glass is darker and thicker. The lids fit pretty tight and work well. The new glass is thinner and lighter and does not seal as well because it's loose. Liquids leak if the bowl is tilted. The new set came with a mix of clear or darker glass, so some of them work, but others don't. For the price I paid, it's not worth it to even attempt a return, so I'm just using them as-is. great variety of sizes

Why did I wait so long. I'm tired of using foil and plastic wrap in refrigerator. My family can't seem to understand how leftovers work unless they can see inside the container. Easy to wash clear glass and well-fitted lids. Microwave/dishwasher safe. The assorted large and small sizes are perfect. I've always had a few small pyrex containers but this 18- piece set will pay for install in a month with less food waste and costly foil and plastic wrap covering
