This was my first time owning a subwoofer. I have alwayshad a standard stereo hi-fi setup (no 5.1 or 7.1), and I am still very satisfied with a pair of Eltax speakers which have served me well for over 20 years! So, having recently bought a Marantz PN7000N Network Amplifier with a subwooder output, I decided to take the plunge and add a "point 1" to my system. And what a difference it makes!Stereo music listening has improved immeasurably, in that the soundscspe is full, rich and perfectly balanced, whereas before there always seemed something lacking. The dimensions and design of the unit is perfect for me too, being slimmer than most, and sits perfectly behind my 49" TV. Of course, bluray movie viewings are also a much better experience now too, but it is the general music listening that really surprised me, from whatever source, analogue or digital. My Eltax speakers go down to 45Hz and the Q Acoustics to 35 Hz, and it's worth having a play around with the crossover point, but i found that setting it at around 55 Hz (10Hz above the lowest capabilities of your main speakers as is the standard recommendation) was the sweet point at which this really shone - the added bass detail is obvious but not overpowering, seemingly bringing detail forward across the frequency spectrum. Balanced, musical and expressive. The crossover adjustment is only really necessary for a 2.1 setup, as it is recommended to set the dial all the way over to AV if you have an AV (Surround) amp.A QED Performance Interconnect was my cable of choice and that also was the perfect compliment.I would recommended this product for someone who wants to improve their existing setup, without breaking the bank. Excellent.

My previous Cambridge Audio and Wharfedale SW 150 products both failed in under two years due to poor quality low-voltage circuitry inside. I do hope Q Acoustics takes more care with selecting (and constantly monitoring like a hawk) their PCB suppliers and the components they're actually fitting. Consequently, I only bought this because Richer Sounds offered a 6 year warranty... nice! Strangely, Q Acoustics does not list the power consumption anywhere in the documentation, which surely must contravene regulations for selling electrical products? I want to know how much electricity this thing uses in standby!

I bought this sub for a music studio/listening room which is the size of a single garage, where I sit about 1.5m from the main speakers (which are Focal active studio monitors). So it's not used for watching films, purely for adding low end to music, and at fairly close proximity. The sub sits neatly to one side under the footwell of the studio desk and the enclosed wiring system is very neat, yet still providing easy access to the frequency and volume controls.Taking all this into account, this compact sub exceeds my expectations. Getting it tuned in with the main speakers by ear was easy - I have it set to about 50Hz because my main speakers already have reasonable low end - and it's added another octave of bass response. Because it isn't a ported cabinet it ... MoreI bought this sub for a music studio/listening room which is the size of a single garage, where I sit about 1.5m from the main speakers (which are Focal active studio monitors). Because it isn't a ported cabinet it doesn't suffer from a "one-note-bass" effect and tracks bass lines very musically and naturally. When listening at higher volumes it makes the whole system sound huge! However, those with a larger room or more dramatic requirements may need something larger and more powerful. So I'm delighted with this sub, and service from Richer Sounds was great as always.

I have had this unit for a couple of months now and listen to a lot of heavy metal music through my 3050i floor speakers also by Q acoustic and it sounds great. It is simple to connect to and has quite a bit of adjustability via the two controls at the rear. The thing I really like is the slim design so easy to site in my living room. The speaker sounds brilliant with my metal collection and breathes nice punch and low growl too with quick reaction to the double bass drum hits.I also think this works well with those big sound movies and for its size delivers those explosions etc nicely. It’s not the deepest sounding sub but plenty enough for a normal size lounge in the UK.Brilliant product and solidly built.
I bought the subwoofer 3 weeks ago to complement my hifi. Already have Q Acoustics 3020i speakers in walnut finish which sound great but just wanted a bit extra oomph. This unit looks superb and sounds very good as part of the set up. You can easily adjust the balance so the bass doesn't drown out the speakers but adds another layer to the sound. The guys at Richer Sounds gave great advice about what my system could handle which made me settle for the sub rather than floorstanding speakers. Good deal, not overly expensive and rounds off a pretty decent system without breaking the bank. Have a Teac turntable and Yamaha MusicCast amp together with the Q Acoustics all from Richer Sounds. Will definitely buy from them again if I upgrade.
My Mordaunt Short Subwoofer started playing up recently and despite lockdown had to buy a replacement. I always do my research before making TV and AV equipment invariably seeking support from the Richer Sounds team in Chester. Despite the lockdown the team were able to provide advice remotely and having described my set-up (QA Floor standing 3050, Tannoy centre and rear and Elac Debut Atmos) all driven by a Denon X2400H AV amp. I told the team which speakers I had been looking at and they proposed the QA3050S even though this was a mid cost Sub. Having decided to go with QA I purchased the QA3090C to keep the look of the system good and within a day ordered the 3020 to finish the set. Setting up was easy using the Audyssey and setting the sub per the QA instructions and the sound is brilliant. I am now listening to Classic FM whilst working as the range really shows of the speakers. I have been using the speakers for 2-3 weeks playing UHD movies and music and am not disappointed - I am now considering upgrading the Denon to the 3600... Many thanks to the Chester team for sound advice and the online purchasing was faultless.
Great and warm sounding subwoofer completing my M20 Q Acoustics speakers, ignore all the specs is very good, goes low 35hz and more then enough for a normal living room. Be careful positioning the subwoofer it makes all the difference and also play with the settings until you reach Nirvana.Cambridge store as always spot on..thank you for assisting and helping my wife buying it for me, I can't recommend this store enough.Thank you guys
I'm not an "audiophile" and this the first sub-woofer I've purchased, but I'm very happy with the difference this has made to my system. I use this mainly for watching movies/tv and it adds a richness and depth that really makes a difference, even at fairly low volumes.I chose this one in particular because I liked the style (I really didn't want an ugly black box sitting in my lounge) and it looks classy enough to fit in with the surroundings. Also the build quality is great - it's feels solid and nicely finished, and the magnetic plate that hides the control panel snaps on with a satisfying "clunk".It's maybe a little on the pricey side (not sure?) but for me it's been a great purchase.
I bought the Speakers on 29th April 2022.The Speaker System is 5.1 Surround Sound with Sub Woofer. The sound coming from these speakers is fantastic, the centre speaker handles dialog brilliantly, we watched Salt in 4K with an unbelievably clean sound. The Bass too is remarkable from all the speakers without being muffled, these are excellent speakers I'm glad i bought them. highly recommend. Also a first class service from the online folks. Delivery was next day between 11.01 and 12.01 my system arrived at 11.04 on the video door bell.Richer Sounds are top. Thank you
I was not looking for big booming bass but what I got was a change in the sound of my stereo system. It does give a better soundstage and really brings out the detail in the left and right speakers. I dropped one star because the metallic plate at the back to hide the connections I does not really do the job. You would have to have the thinnest cables for it to remain flush. Does not matter really because that part faces the wall but it’s just poor design when the unit itself looks so pretty.
