Quaker Traditional Porridge Oats 500g

Oats play an important part of my diet and I have just bought my first packet to try. This product faces keen competition but I am willing to compare and if they do equal or better my first choice in oats then I will be well pleased. Especially as nearly all my food is now delivered and my wife and I will spend less and less time going out and about to shop for the basic essential in foods in the future. Ordering on line is just a great way to shop.

As always high quality jumbo oats. I like the fact that its glutenfree. when I cook it it doesnt get thicker and thicker just cook for less than 5 mins stirring constantly. its palatable and pleasant to swallow unlike ordinary oat especially when you leave it in the pan for awhile after cooking it, it becomes sticky and when it happens its kind of eating loads of glue which is no good. Thats why I always go for GF. And I always look forward to my breakfast every morning. And by the way I only eat porridge for my breakfast and will never get tired of eating it xx highly recommend.

All deliveries

Most of items are good.Over the past few months only had 12 eggs to eat in three days cause of date and watery of age. A lettuce on the way out and I ordered a foil pack of containers for crumbles to freeze and the alternative sent was a small flat tray. Had a good laugh over that one. Mostly very happy especially as I'm house bound looking after my mum who has dementia. Delivery drivers are always friendly thanks.

Easy tasty brekkie

I have this most mornings. It takes a couple of mins to prepare. One cup of oats. One of milk & one of water. Mix then put-in microwave for 1 min 20 secs. Take out & stir & then back in for same time. If you prefer it thicker increase time slightly. I sprinkle blueberries & pumpkin seeds. Healthy & delicious

Loved them need more in my life

I recently received these Quaker Oats as a free gift. I am very cynical and not easily impressed, especially by a free gift, but I can honestly say I have enjoyed theses oats, cooked as porridge with honey, raw with skimmed milk, chi seeds & honey and baked into flapjack. I am purchasing another pack. Thank you Ocado gift gratefully received.

... recommend to eat oats to help lower his blood sugar level which was borderline diabetic. Knowing that the muesli in packets contains sugar and salt (which he needs to avoid) he now makes his own adding his own favourite fruits. He prefers these jumbo oats as they have big flakes. He just pours semi-skim goats milk on them, which being slightly sweeter and creamier tasting than cows milk, satisfies his sweet-tooth. His diabetic tests have come back 'clear', he no longer needs a mid-morning snack, and has lost a noticeable amount of weight.I like them with plain 0% fat/goats yoghurt (for me milk's too 'wet and runny') in the warmer months or as porridge in winter. New box design please

Great tasting oats, shame about the flimsy tab on the side though. I also take issue with the suggested amount of milk. 40g with 300ml of milk? It was like the stuff they ate in The Matrix. I go with 50g of oats and 250ml of milk. Good thick consistency and you can always had a splash of milk to cool/thin it down to your liking. And I know it's not the done thing anymore but I just have it with a heaped tablespoon of sugar.

Powder like fine saw dust

Really disappointed with this product. No substance whatsoever. I cannot imagine what they were rolled with! Requires so much liquid to make it edible that is turns into wallpaper paste. Has no flavour either.

Review of Quaker 1k Oats

The oats are lovely but I found the way you have to open the box a little difficult. First I opened the whole of the top not realising there was a little opening flap on the side. So I sealed up the top and used the proper opening. Which I unfortunately did with a little too much gusto and oats flew everywhere. Then I couldn't close it again using the teeny tiny tab that's supposed to keep it closed. I know, operator error 🫢I do love how there is no extra plastic packaging inside. Just a box....and oats. Perfect 👍Now, I'm off to the kitchen to see how many more little runaway oats I can find from when i opened the box and flung them everywhere 😂🤗🫶🙏

So So Oats

I didn't think much to these oats as a school kid 50 years ago and nothing`s changed. I remember having to put honey or jam in them to make them edible. They, on there own are tastless. Even soaking them overnight make no difference. Even the other brand which shares the same customer service address and phone number has the same none inspiring taste. There are other brands out there which are a lot creamier and price per kilo a lot less. Most people are trying to eat healthier but this is bland!
