Just as they always are well made swim well very productive if fished in the right conditions much more robust and long lasting than the balsa original versions not the best hooks though as they deform easily i find them excellent where i fish them but excruciatingly expensive and a painful experience to loose one as happens quite often as they are sinkers and snag easily if your not careful

The traditional xrap is great. Ut there are many times you need to fish varying levels in the water column. The countdown is a perfect solution for where the standard xrap leaves off. Rapala needs to consider keeping the traditional xrap shape in a countdown offering as well as keep the same xrap color choices. The countdown should be offered in larger sizes as well such as 3-4 inch range. As a side not, Rapala should consider single hook options for its lure instead of trebles for those of us that want to release fish unharmed.

I purchased the 2"/ 5 cm version in silver color as a brown trout lure and caught the first day a big one. With its 1/6 oz/ 5 gr this is a leight weight lure. It casts well for its weight class, but of course not like a bullet. The trebles are very sharp, and the finish is good. The lure is slowly sinking, and the action on retrieve is a quite normal, tight wobbling. Price is okay for the quality. I'll buy more of them.
One of my go to Trout Trolling lures, I absolutely love the rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout, clown, and perch patterns, they are Trout Slayers.I like to run 4 rods when Trolling for Trout. My left side a X-rap countdown is my usual spot for running an X-rap as the action is a little different to the normal countdown.
These lures have the holographic view on them and they come with good hooks. I troll this lure behind my kayak using lead core Sufix line. This lure mimmicks the long fin smelt in the local areas very well in size 7 glass ghost and the one with the green on top of the back. Now I have three different X-Rap minnows.
Rapala comes out with more than a couple "greats" each year. I have always been a fan of the count down since childhood and recently have been using the classic firetiger count downs for my night excursions for early season walleye in shallow waters. When this XRap version of the count down came out I knew I had to try it. I bought a clown color XRCD in size 5 and tried it last week. It hands down was the best producer of the evening. Far casting so the wind wasn't much of an issue and it had a perfectly slow sink rate so you can reel slowly for those fish that preferred a slow moving target. Awesome. I recommend this lure for all sorts of species. Proved it on walleye already.
I've used these lures for Trout and they have proven to be quite successful.
Ordered the Perch color which went on back order. Waited almost a month but finally got them. Really nice bait and had the "look" of a small perch. Decided to troll a few weeks back and BAM got tagged by this nice muskie. Knew it was big as soon as it hit and thought for sure this bait would grenade but it held up extremely well and stayed together.Quite a nice surprise considering most muskie guys throwing baits twice this size. Glad I decided to get 3!
The action on this particular is not what its cut to be. It's not wide, but tight. The tiny versions run wider and better, but you sacrifice weight and depth.
