Have only used with Pro Team Winter Jacket, but works great for those extra chilly rides between 30-35f or when there’s no sun out in the winter. Wished the sleeve hems had some kind of silicon grips so it doesn’t flap when windy.Also no grip at the bottom hem of the vest, so it tend to ride up the back.
Fit true to size, great down to 35 degrees. Look and fits excellent. Would recommend this wear product. Male over 60 years. Been riding over 34 years and Rapha make sharp looking cycling wear.
The insulated gilet was delightful to wear. I wore last autumn and it was awesome in the 50-40s. I wore it again as a mid layer this winter and it was phenomenal. I hope to cycle through it again before the cold season passes.
Nice, Lightweight shell. I would like the tail to be an inch or so longer though. Zipper un-zips from the bottom while riding (two-way zipper). I am constantly pulling the zipper back down.
Totally changed my mornings—keeps my core plenty toasty, and zips easily to regulate temperature.I'd prefer it to be just a bit longer for my body type.6'1 & 170 lbs (185 cm & 77 kg) and Medium fits about as perfect as it gets.
This is a great layer, it breathes really well and is surprisingly warm. I’ve worn it as a top layer with the PT long sleeve jersey and thermal base layer in temps below freezing and I stayed warm. It’s a solid winter option.
This is an excellent piece of kit. Essential for every riders closet. I have many vests and this is the best one. The extra insulation is really helpful and the weight is practically the same as the pro team lightweight vest. It’s just worth it more than the lightweight proteam vest. Got it in full black and aLao the high viz yellow on a really good deal. Muscular built and got large size. I’m 170-180lbs. 5’11”. Fit is snug and length is decent.
I wish I could update a product review at a point in the future as I've only been able to wear this gilet two times. Perhaps I'm not choosing the correct weather for the vest but it's not provided the warmth I was expecting. The insulation is kept to a minimum in order to ensure the gilet is lightweight and packs well but I wouldn't say it delivers substantive warmth when compared to the standard mesh back gilet. While I usually don't mind paying extra for Rapha design and build quality I'm not sure the value is there. I'll continue to put miles on it in hopes the issue is with the rider and not the gilet.
Wonderful lightweight insulated vest. Fit is consistent with the rest of the pro team line, in my opinion. I wear a medium in jerseys and same for this piece. Insulation is very nice, but note this is a very lightweight garment. It won’t save you from extremely frigid temperatures, but you should have a jacket on in that case anyways. I like to use this for anything as low as 40* F mornings that I know will get warmer through the ride or rides consistently in the 45-55* F range.
