I cannot say enough positive things about the tinted lip oil.First of all, I had been using the same lip stain for the last 11 years–the Revlon "Just Bitten" Lip Stain in the shade Midnight–and I'm pretty sure they discontinued it at least 8 years ago (so I've been purchasing it on Amazon for about 5x the price).Because of this, I have YEARNED for a product that can replace that one for me. I wanted a berry shade that matched that one because a lot of berries are either too pink or too bright. Or I had issues with the formula where it looked too much like lipstick or lip gloss. This is the one!! I purchased the colors Delight, Honesty, and Affection and these are simply magnificent! The amount of pigment is perfect. If you want to purchase this product, just be aware that it isn't a lip gloss or lip stick but is exactly what it says, a tinted lip oil. It has very sheer (but buildable) coverage and then it dries down into a stain. I think it has the perfect amount of wear, and it will come off it you eat or drink. But, once the initial shine wears off, you get such a nice, natural lip tint. The colors are just fabulous. I've found that the perfect everyday shade for me has been Honesty with some dabs of Affection right in the center of the lip. Super flattering for darker skintones!I know other people have commented on the taste, and while it does have a slight bitter minty flavor upon initial application, it goes away and doesn't bother me at all.

Let me start off by saying, I’m extremely picky about my lip products. ESPECIALLY lip glosses/oils because a lot of them tend to smudge and be sticky and all that. Honestly, I wasn’t going to buy this. When I saw the announcement that these were coming out, as much as I love Rare Beauty, I was like "cute, but I already have so many lip products, I really don’t need another sticky oil" Like, cute, but okay. I was in store maybe like, a day or two after they launched and they were all sold out except for like 2 of them, and I’d forgotten to wear something on my lips that day so I was like okay, sure I’ll try one. When I tell you there is life before this product, and life after this product, I am NOT kidding. I will say, I wouldn’t consider it an oil, like, I wouldn’t have named it an oil because it’s really not, but whatever. That’s the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars, because objectively, if you’re actually looking for an oil like the Dior one for example, you’ll be disappointed. But for my personal needs I’d give it a hundred stars if I could. The texture is some kind of gel that instantly feel comfortable and NOT tacky or sticky. Super hydrating. It stays like this for maybe 15-ish mins and then settles into this GORGEOUS stain. And it’s a solid stain. Not a stain that washes off after half an hour or eating or something. It’s the PERFECT pop of colour for your lips, and once the stain settles you can use a balm or other type of gloss on top. It also has a slight minty feel to it when you put it on. I’ve never seen anything like it, and I am not exaggerating when I say this is now my favourite lip product ever. Which is a problem because I’ve already bought two more and I plan on getting even more.

Elegant reapplication, must reapply for hydration.

I rated a 4 because it is somewhat fragrance-free to me, which is fine for me because it's better than a scent I don't like! I found that upon application the applicator felt extremely soft and the formula of the lip oil was also very soft and goes on sheer/thin at first. I find that you could build up the color and the formula does not cake up whatsoever. It just stayed really smooth and the tint didn't bunch up in my lip lines. When you smack your lips together, the feeling is definitely not sticky at all. Also, the color/tint does not transfer when I kiss my hand, but the oil transfers. Immediately afterwards I noticed my lips were a bit dry/matte feeling, which also makes sense. The downside for me if I really had to be nit-picky is that I don't think the hydration lasts long enough at times when I actually leave my lips alone for hours without eating and drinking, etc. Obviously the oil will get absorbed by the lips in a few hours, which means I will need to reapply to help my lips feel hydrated again. Again, the formula does not cake up when reapplied which makes reapplication totally easy and fuss-free!In terms of color I subtracted 1 star.Hope when applied looks like a more saturated version of my natural lip color, which was what I was going for. But when the tint sat on my lips for longer, I noticed the color sort of deepen the longer it was on, which was not what I wanted since I liked the color right after application. Reapplying HOPE onto my lips didn't work to bring back the original light pink color that I wanted as the tint already tinted my lips.Again, JOY when first applied is beautiful, but after the tint went into effect, I didn't enjoy how the color deepened to an almost darker brown orange tint.I will probably keep HOPE over JOY and try HAPPY.

I've been a fan of Rare Beauty products ever since they launched, and I was excited to try out their Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in both Joy and Happy shades. I already have the blush in Joy. These tinted lip oils are absolutely fantastic!First off, the formula is amazing. It's super lightweight and non-sticky, which is exactly what you want from a lip oil. The oils used in the formula are moisturising, and they leave your lips feeling soft and stained with the colour all day long. This shade is perfect for daytime wear, and it complements a variety of skin tones.Next up, I tried the Happy shade . This shade is perfect for summer, and it pairs well with both natural makeup looks as well as bolder eye makeup.Overall, I'm absolutely in love with Rare Beauty's Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oils. The packaging is gorgeous too - I love the sleek design and the doe-foot applicator that makes it easy to apply.

Look, I love Rare Beauty and all their products including this one. But let’a be clear on what it is and isn’t first so that we can review this stuff better!0. It isn’t a lip oil at all. Some refer to this as a cooling sensation. Personally, I could do without.3. I did find my lips feeling extra dry at night after removing my makeup, but I’m not sure if I should attribute it to this product or not. A couple more days of testing and I will be able to tell. If a stain is what you’re after, you should try the Sephora ones (discontinued? Idk). They had a similar formula - glossy lip stain that is more moisturizing than this one. The good part though is that these don’t bleed without a lipliner. I’ll keep using this one called Delight, but won’t be repurchasing in other colors.

Gifted by rare beauty. Okay, before we really dive in I just want to preface that I don’t necessarily think this product is bad, I just think it was very poorly marketed. If I’m being honest, I think it’s on the fence of false marketing. I was sent this for text review on Skeepers but I wanted to share it here because if I bought this with my own money, I would have been very frustrated with what I received. Claims: 🌿Gel, to lip oil tint: this does initially have a gel texture. It doesn’t feel like a traditional lip oil to start. The gel finish you see in photo 2 only lasts about 5-10 minutes before it completely dries down. The word, tint, is not accurate. This is a lip stain. When applying you need to be careful that you don’t work outside your lips because this will stain your skin, tints don’t do that. Tints fade when the oil fades in every other situation. This “tint” will stay almost all day. When it initially dries down it looks nice, however…next claim 🌿Hydrating: I did not find this to be hydrating at all, in fact I experienced dryness. Which caused the “tint” to look a bit crusty on my lips after prolonged wear. 🌿Long Wearing: this product overall is long wearing. But I don’t find it looks good for a long time, if that makes sense? After a couple hours the product will settle into my lip line, it doesn’t transfer but it doesn’t look cute. Overall I don’t think it’s bad, I just don’t think it meets the marketed expectation. A tinted lip oil in my experience is hydrating & almost zero effort. This wasn’t hydrating & a high maintenance application & reapplication IMO. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Based on my preferences, it’s just not something I would have purchased if it was more accurately marketed

Lovely colours

I've purchased 4 of these lip oils (Hope, Honesty, Serenity and Wonder) and although the colours are beautiful, and perfect for my South Asian skin tone, the oils themselves are not as impressive as the pictures shown on Instagram or in their marketing ads. The texture is wonderfully smooth and slick, with no feeling of stickiness. However, the shine doesn't last very long, maximum 1 hour, then it goes satin in texture, and there is a very light stain left on my lips. I am not going to slather it on like on the videos, with layer upon layer, as the lip oil will run out very quickly if I did, so one good layer leaves a very subtle hint of colour which does stay for the rest of the day. I have some hyperpigmentation on my lips, so I'm pleased that the stain does hide this quite well. All the colours are quite natural, I didn't feel like a clown wearing any of them, which at my age (mid 40s) is a bonus. There is a slightly minty-fresh feeling when applying, and my lips looked fuller (only because of the shine). After an hour or so, my lips felt soft and moisturised. For the price, I would recommend these, I think they are good value and a decent product for the price-range. As with all Rare Beauty products, I don't feel that the packaging is very premium-feeling or looking, so you get what you pay for.

Not a traditional lip oil, but great lip stain

Love RB blushes, so seeing a matching looking tube and the words lip oil, I was so set on buying these in lots of shades. But this isn't a lip oil. I've been calling it a stain since I got it. So if you're expecting a thick, glossy, Dior-esque lip oil, I wouldn't buy this. If you're okay with that and want a great lip stain, I'd go for this. This lasts very, very long. Food and drinks do not budge it. I drink a lot of tea and water and this product doesn't move by this. Any gloss or actual lip oil applied over this doesn't mess with the stain. In my photo I'm wearing the shade Wonder applied all over my lips with a clear lip oil from another brand on top. This lasted completely throughout the day and gave me that jelly-lip look up until I removed it 12 hours ... MoreLove RB blushes, so seeing a matching looking tube and the words lip oil, I was so set on buying these in lots of shades. This lasted completely throughout the day and gave me that jelly-lip look up until I removed it 12 hours later. That being said, after docking a star just for the name of this product, I want to mention the quantity of product you get with this, which is 3 ml. For measure, Fenty's lip glosses have 9 ml of product, and Rare's other lip product, the glossy balm, has 3.8 ml. I would reduce a star just for the lower quantity compared to other options, but I will say, this requires no reapplication, it's a one-and-done application, so 3 ml does feel fair for the product.I apply this on fairly dry lips, usually with a lip serum or face serum tapped on my lips at most. I find that using no lip balm or products prior to this help its staying power. I then fill in my lip line with it first then apply all over. Personal preference but I apply extra to my top lip line just to define it more, and lightly smudge it to have a more jelly-like look. I leave this on for a little while, a few minutes is enough really, or I just keep it on while I do other steps of my makeup. I'll blot this off with a tissue, maybe use a cotton bud with makeup remover to make some spots a subtler stain. I'll top it off with a lip gloss or oil or just do my lip combo on top, keeps me from getting greyish anemia lips when my combo wears off.

Unique jelly consistency & leaves beautiful stain
11 April 2023

These tinted lip oils are in high demand & can be hard to get a hold of, and for good reason - comfortable and hydrating formula, smooth application, soft, cushiony, pillowy feel on lips & beautiful color. I am sharing my honest and authentic opinion, as a Sephora Beauty Insider Community Ambassador.WHAT I LIKE:* Texture - has a light, jelly, cushiony, balm consistency; not sticky* Easy to apply - glides on effortlessly* Wear - feels nourishing, hydrating on lips; not sticky or goopy as some lip oils can be (but see below)* Buildable - leans a bit sheer on first swipe but has more depth with a second layer* Has a soft sheen on initial application (but see below)* Leaves a beautiful stain on the lips while still feeling hydrated after the sheen wears off* ... MoreThese tinted lip oils are in high demand & can be hard to get a hold of, and for good reason - comfortable and hydrating formula, smooth application, soft, cushiony, pillowy feel on lips & beautiful color. I was able to get 40 minutes or so before the gloss wore off with the shade Hope, with sipping water and coffee, while I could get in about 75 minutes with Serenity while doing the same activities. Both leave a pretty stain but more consistency in wear time would be nice.FYI:* This is more of a lip tint / stain - goes on like lip oil / gloss but without being goopy or tacky. Lips feel pillowy soft.* UnscentedBUY, BUY, BUY or BYE-BYE?:* This is a BUY, BUY, BUY for me. I picked up 2 initially and plan to pick up one or two more.

Wanted to love this but it's not for me!
2 April 2023

I wanted to love this but it missed the mark a bit for me! It does apply like a cream in a much lighter shade than what it actually is, but after applying and rubbing lips together once it's more of an oil, somewhat sheer but pigmented. I did a few wear tests over the past 3 days and this is what I found, no eating or drinking the whole time:Immediately after application it looked & felt nice, hydrating, shiny. No tingling sensation for the first few minutes but then it began and stuck around for about 40 minutes - this isn't a burning lip plumping feeling, but a cooling effect. Not a fan & my #1 reason for returning unfortunately.20 minutes after application the shine started to fade a bit, product still looked and felt good. Not a fan & my #1 reason for returning unfortunately.20 minutes after application the shine started to fade a bit, product still looked and felt good. By about the 1 hour mark it had dried pretty much all the way. It wasn't sticky, but at that point it felt a little drying since the shine and wetness was gone. After about 3 hours the stain also seemed to fade completely, though I did have the lightest shade Hope so maybe darker ones perform differently. Some people have compared this to K-beauty lip stains/tints (and this product is made in Korea so that makes sense) - I do think the Romand Lip Tints are the most similar without the tingling effect if you're looking for an alternative.
