Ray-Ban RB4147 Black

I have a pretty big head, and the classic Wayfairer frames squeeze and don't look great on on me. These fit perfectly and compliment the shape of my face. but This is my third pair. My most recent pair lasted 10 years then got chewed up by a dog. They looked amazing for the whole decade. Please keep making them so I can re-order them again in another ten years when I let my guard down again!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Low quality lenses

Had a pair of these for over 4 years until I unfortunately broke the frame. Bought a second pair to replace them and was very disappointed that after two months I had a scratch on one of the lenses. My previous pair didn't have any scratches whatsoever after 4 years of very hard use, so I was quite perplexed that the new ones scratched so easily. I therefore popped the lenses out of my old pair and went to put them in my new pair, when to my amazement I discovered the new lenses are no longer glass! Clearly explaining why they scratched so easily. The only reason I bought the replacement pair is because I was informed at the Ray-Ban store in Austin, TX that the lenses are still glass. Extremely disappointed

I bought my 1st our of these shades about a month ago. I am very good with my sunglasses and need them for my eyes as I have very bad sensitivity to light and terrible, terrible vision. Off the bat, the quality of these sunglasses are extremely cheap feeling. The worst part that caused me to have to purchase a whole new pair of the same pair was the quality of them all around. These sunglasses get scratched on EVERYTHING. I would put them down the table and would pick them up finding 3 new scratches on them. Great Function/Great Fashion

I have worn RB 4147 for 20 years. Flattering frame with superb visibility. Recently, I’ve lost both a Tortoise pair and a Black/Green pair. The irony is that the first pair of 4147’s I ever owned were lost by someone else, so I guess it’s karma. Go Hightower!

Great anniversary gift!

My wife bought me these glasses for our 3rd anniversary. They provide great coverage and the polarization is excellent. I am quite the enthusiast when it comes to sunglasses and these are great. The lenses resemble an aviator shape while the frame is a slightly wayfarer shape. We are staying in Texas hill country for our anniversary getaway and I have been able to try these out in all sorts of light conditions. They do an excellent job of blocking glare and do not simply darken everything. They also do a good job of blocking that side reflection that occurs (you can see your cheeks and eyes in lens). I was barely able to notice any. The lens are big and feel good. The frame is lighter than expected but it is still sturdy. My wife's face is totally too small for frame but these fit me perfectly. I would not say I have a large head but, these sunglasses lean towards beople with larger heads.

My go to

This is the third set of this exact pair. Amazing glass and sturdy design. The hinges can loosen up but a small screw driver fixes that. Only reason I’m on my third pair is because I’ve either lost or run them into the ground. Highly recommended and fast shipping as always.

Not the first or last pair of RB4147's I'll buy

With regular shipping, item arrived to the outer eastern islands of the Torres Strait much faster than expected (regular post in Australia takes around 3 weeks minimum), so was pleasantly surprised.Great sunnies, have owned about 6 pairs of the RB4147 style. Bought clear-framed because I kept getting a sunglasses-arm tan on the sides of my face - not anymore! Lenses aren't too dim (I think category 2), but do a good job keeping the glare out. My only gripe would be that, with the clear frame, light will sometimes reflect around the diameter and give a kind of illuminating effect around the perimeter of the lenses, but it's nothing to get too annoyed about. Plastic lenses

I bought these because I have the black polarized version which have glass lenses and are tough as nails. This style fits my face perfectly and the. Hold quality of the frames is definitely top notch. I have been very impressed with how my polarized pair has held up to my abuse with nary a scratch. When I received this new pair I was disappointed to realize that the lenses are apparently plastic on this version. They are lighter than my polarized pair and tapping on the lens revealed they are definitely not like the polarized lens material. What this means in the long run remains to be seen. Maybe they will be just as tough/scratch resistant... maybe not. I just wish I knew this detail before buying them.

I bought three pairs of these back in 2015 (two tortosie and one black frame). They are to this day my favourite sunglasses. I recently bought a pair for my girlfriend and what I got is no where near the same quality. One of my biggest turn offs is that Ray Ban decided to stop using a crystal lens (glass) in these sunglasses and is now using polycarbonate lenses (plastic). You can argue the plus and minuses of either lens but to me the glass lens was way better, less scratch prone, clearer vision, and the slight heavier weight gave it a feeling of higher quality. material feels like poor quality

This product doesn’t feel like it’s good quality, I honestly thought they were fakes when I open the box. My previous boyfriend sunglasses have a heavier quality feel and the current hinges on the glass is very flimsy. I’m actually very disappointed. I will not purchase these again.
